  1. You're adorable. Yes, everybody is a human being. Is every group of people represented in pro sports equally to their % of the general population?
  2. You're absolutely right that it's ridiculous. I honestly think the media is trying to make a bigger story of it that most people really think it is. Not that many people would have cared if it wasn't 24/7 on ESPN. My favourite Michael Sam segment on ESPN was when they discussed how things would be in the shower with a gay man on the team. The producers must have thought he'd be prancing around the shower dropping soap in front of everyone.
  3. Probably 10% for sure. I can understand why they'd prefer to wait to come out til after their career is wrapped up though. Probably for sure? I'd don't think the stats for the general population translate equally to pro sports. Not that I think Sam is the only gay football player out there, but do you really think there's an average of four gay players per team in the CFL?
  4. If we were to trade Buff, and he'd be first on my list of guys to trade, I'd want players back, not more picks. I think we're at a point where we've become competitive and I'd look at it as a big setback if we dealt a major contributor on our team for picks.
  5. I'd like to see a gradual increase in his workload, not just immediately hand over the job. Keep upping his playing time and see if he can maintain what he's doing now. Start Pavelec tonight and go back to Hutch against Boston.
  6. So if we had the best fourth line in hockey, Maurice would still barely play them? Without question. Always deal in absolutes. It makes for great discussions.
  7. Yeah, the 4th line not playing is more b/c of Maurice's philosophy than them being worse than every other teams' 4th line. We don't have the best 4th line in the game, but it's certainly not the worst either.
  8. Was your friend's name Lauren Kroeker?
  9. This is a pretty over-the-top level of drama for a team that lost 2 one-goal games in a row against 2 of the better teams in the league. Some deep breaths should be taken. Pavelec has the 11th best gaa in the league among starters, so if by regressed you mean gotten much better, then yes. The team needs to score more goals. It has the 3rd fewest in the league. Despite that they sit 16th overall in the league. If this team simply maintains everything about it's current level of play and improves the powerplay from second-worst in the league to average, it is probably good enough to make the playoffs. Tim Stapleton once played an entire season here. You seriously think this is just more of the same? It's okay to be disappointed by a loss, but we should still keep our wits about us. Agreed. I'll save panic time for if we struggle through our next five games. That's a pretty weak stretch of opponents who we should be able to string some wins up against. What made you choose Stapleton as your example? We've had players on our team that were worse than him, like that plug we traded to the Habs for example.
  10. Turner's a good reporter/writer, but his twitter feed is all about terrible jokes, several of them at the expense of the Bombers. I stopped following him about a week after I started following him. As for the Leggett tweet, I'm truly outraged/happy/indifferent depending on what he's actually talking about.
  11. That sucks. He was very close to the top of my FA wishlist. Poblah I mean, not Westerman.
  12. Thankfully he's still relatively young and has enough time to make a lot of money in his career. If nothing else, it's good to see his parents publicly shamed for this. Hopefully there's something criminal in this situation so they can be charged and or sued. Young athletes being taken advantage of by their families is by no means a new story. Ryan Howard is going through the same thing right now. The only difference is he caught on to what was happening before he lost everything.
  13. Whatever happened to Schmockey Night in Winnipeg?
  14. I agree it does, and good for them for doing it. Let the management group worry about the fans. For a team as besieged by their fans and media as they are, that probably felt great for them. So if the Jets were to do something similar here because a group of fans were acting stupid that you weren't a part of, you'd be fine with it even after dropping $500 for a couple of seats, beer, and popcorn. Pat them on the back and say way to show them. Yes. I'd have paid all that money to watch them play, not raise their sticks in an empty gesture that means nothing to me...or them. It's certainly not an "unacceptable snub" when they stop doing it.

  16. Is there a team in the league that has a former rb as their rb coach? Some teams don't even have a rb coach, or others where it's a part time job.
  17. I'd take Smith & Hamilton for Kane. I doubt the Bruins would have any interest in that though. I think they'd be crazy to trade Hamilton.
  18. Just saw a tweet that the options weren't picked up for Marsh or Khalif Mitchell.
  19. Busy little beaver, that Walters. I'm pretty sure he's a human. He has big teeth and brown hair, but no tail. It's a toss up...
  20. Chamblin misspoke and Lawless is a fat, useless, **** disturber. That seems to be how it's explained away. Dismissing a reporter saying it is one thing, but your own coach saying it is pretty damning.
  21. Wonder if Hootie comes back if we hire Khari in the offseason?
  22. It's cute how important you think you are.
  23. I think I've seen a Ryan jersey or two floating around. I've got a Cameron jersey I bought in 2000.
  24. Did he ever post here?
  25. Crompton is the CFL version of Trent Dilfer. Don't do anything stupid to interfere with the defense winning you games. To his credit, he's not doing anything stupid to lose them games. It'll be interesting to see how he does next season without Duron Carter.
