I don't buy that it was laziness either. They played an evening game, travelled from Nashville to Minneapolis, got to their hotel after 1am, then had to play an afternoon game. I'm very impressed they took a point out of this game. I didn't like the decision to play Pavelec for all of the above reasons.

Putin has backed himself into a corner in Ukraine with no easy way out. Their economy is crashing b/c of the sanctions slapped on them due to the invasion, but if he pulls out now he'll look weak. He's spent the better part of the last year telling Russians that Fascists are running roughshod over their "brothers" in Ukraine and compared the protests to the Nazis invading Poland. How do you back out after convincing his supporters he's saving the World? -
My argument isn't just about Demski b/c I don't know if he's the second best player in the draft or not. My point is that if he is the second best player in the draft we should take him second overall.

Not the greatest football I've ever seen being played today.

Yes. He was actively costing his team games this year and hired an OC he had to fire in preseason. He decision making is embarrassing. He'd be well down the list of coaches I'd choose from Montreal's staff.

Brink is worse, so he's no lower than 2nd worst.

Bear Woods is a pending UFA this offseason. Wouldn't he look good in our D?

Trestman to BC next year? Seems like both will be in tough to keep their jobs this offseason.

I give Harper credit for doing what he says, I just think a lot of what they've done aren't good ideas. The GST reduction was a bad idea that went against the advice of most economists. The child benefit and income splitting are gifts which I'll accept as someone who benefits from both ideas, but neither one is a good idea. The child benefit should have a max on the income of people it's paid too. I certainly don't need it, but I'm going to get it. I get the idea behind income splitting is treating income as a family total, rather than individually, but I don't agree, nor do most economists. If two people make $100k/yr, they should pay the same tax rate. IMO one guy shouldn't get a tax break b/c he's married to somebody who's making less. I'd raise the personal exemption amount as a tax reduction, rather than the other ideas they're coming out with. IMO poor people who get more money in their pocket are going to spend it b/c they have too. I'm middle class and will take my tax breaks and pay down my mortgage, which doesn't help anybody but me. I'm also a Federal public servant. The cuts they've hit us with, plus their heavy handed attempts to slash our benefits, make me hope he loses the next election. -
I agree with taking the best player available, especially this draft year, which is supposed to be deep with good OL. Hopefully we can take care of finding a starting OL in FA.

Wiecek said today McCallum won b/c he had the better %. Apparently no weight was given to the difference in condiitions between their home stadiums.

Best game I've seen of this version of the Jets. Even better that I got to see it live. Crowd was fired up the entire game.

Trouba's very lucky he didn't get an instigator on that play. Went straight for him and threw his first punch before Sill had time to drop his mitts. I was happy that was all that was called on the play. IMO if you drops your gloves and throw a punch it should be called a fight. Also lucky was Buff for only getting a minor for running Downie into the end boards after the goal. Could have been 5 for how cheap/dangerous it was. Downie's greasy, but he's definitely effective. Played a good game and got Buff off his game. He was waving Buff to the box when the misconducts were called. No doubt that's what he wanted to happen. They must have been warned before hand to stay away from each other b/c that call came quick on that play.

It would be a travesty if Higgins finished higher than Huff in the voting. His team has been ripped apart by injury and they're still beating everybody. Higgins' team needed a big rally to finish atop the East b/c his own incompetence put them in a hole initially. -

No Jon Cornish for half the year, Bo Levi misses a handful of games, Mo Price missed significant time, team still wins 14 games...John Hufnagel says hello. Years of continued excellence doesn't capture attention the way turning a team around does, but it should. Being among the best year after year isn't easy, but people write it off like all that happens is a team gets good and they can put the cruise control on. For close to a decade. Higgins would be third on my list behind Jones & Huff. TBH, his coaching staff should get an award for what they've done in spite of him. He did some horrifically stupid things at the start of the year and should disqualify him from winning any awards. -
For sure he deserved some of the flak he took in the past, but the team as a whole didn't play well defensively. They take some of the blame as well. Of course it's not all his fault. Nowhere did I suggest it was. He's had hot stretches like this before, and always regressed back to his .900 self. Hopefully this time is different, but I have to see it before I'll believe it.

Just to clarify, do you care one way or the other? -
He deserved a lot of the flak he took in the past. He wasn't very good. With a few exceptions, he's been very good this year. Hopefully this is who he is now and not just a hot start that will eventually regress to his mean.

Agree with most of this, but I strongly disagree they're equally crazy. Equally biased sure, but the crazy factor coming from Fox News & their ilk is something else. Who on the left can compete with Glenn Beck & Rush Limbaugh? The heavy coverage of "death panels" early in the Ocare days was something else.

It's cleary one or the other for these two options. -
Everyone should watch the video in its entirety. And can we please punt the CBC already? sun news network? now don't get me wrong I'm a conservative leaning person anyway, but sun news is at this point basically parody. You have to wonder sometimes if they're actually in on the joke. They're trying to be Fox News, but the idiot demographic in Canada isn't nearly as large as in the US, so they struggle for an audience.
