Starting 3 Canadian receivers next season?
sweep the leg replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yes, "we" should. Maybe go look at a depth chart and count again. What are you talking about please explain? When's the last time we only started two NI receivers? -

So the ratio doesn't apply to the Bombers? You've made it sound like you are familiar with the CFL in the past, but these rules sound like they are new to you. Let me guess, we'll line up 7 NI's at center. I see we have to start over. We already start 6, 3 on the oline, 3 on defence, we only need 1 more at receiver. WTF would you want to start 3 at receiver? It's entirely possible starting Thomas & Sherman next year doesn't appeal to them, and they think this is a better option. What three did you have in mind for D next season? -

From what I've read about the 2015 draft class, it looks much deeper at OL than receiver. If Demski is head and shoulders above the next receiver in this class, he might be worth our 1st rounder. We could still get a quality OL in the next round. -
Do you think Cheveldayoff is doing a good job?

0% chance they beat the Pens scoring one goal. I don't think they can get away relying on their goalie they way they have been against that kind of firepower. -

How much thinking did you have time for during the one sentence you wrote between finding it funny and not? -
and yet still only gave up 13 points. I understand that people want a different system but the rushing yards given up haven't translated into a lot of points on the score board most nights. Aren't we last in points allowed this season?

I'd like to see the Lions win this year so Glenn can get a Cup. Funniest scenario would be the Als winning, after they and their coach were such a joke at the start of the season.
-
You want the HC to announce to the media that their next game is meaningless? That comment would certainly take everyone's attention away from him not reciting his faults.
-
DL for sure. We've really struggled to get pressure in the 2nd half of the season. For receivers, I think Moore and Denmark are a good 1-2, and Kohlert has a chance to finish in the top 20 receivers this season. I'd go with Watson again as our 2nd NI receiver, but draft his replacement this year. I'd also be looking for a new 3rd import receiver. Doesn't matter to me if it's a FA or new recruit.

how many times do we have to go over it? He's hurt... Banged hand, shoulder, ankle... Maybe more. You need a broken arm to be able to justify his last two games. That said, I'm certainly not on the dump Willy bandwagon. He'll be better next season. I agree with most of you that in the big picture this season wasn't a total loss. Lot of good pieces have been put in place. Add a few pieces on both lines and we might have something.

O'Shea hasn't made an enemy out of the media. Wiecek said it himself that their testy exchange was a rare occurence. I'm not sure why some people have decided this is a thing now.
-
The top writer for both major papers love him. Penton giggles like a school girl in the media scrums and Lawless gushes over him on H & L. Other than Wiecek he seems to get along with all of them just fine (Friesen doesn't count).

Bombers Make 7 Roster Changes vs Stamps
sweep the leg replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Can we six game everybody who's hurt this week to save some cap space, or is there a rule against that? Also, why didn't Brohm go on the six game IR after he broke his thumb? -

WINNIPEG Blue Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea volunteered Thursday his 6-11 football team "needs to get better, from me on down." As opposed to mild mannered coaches who always last forever?
-
This seems somewhat less than a big deal. Why not wait until the season's over before doing the post mortem on it?
-
That's funny. I didn't know that.

You need to take a week away from this site to think about how you can be better. -
Heenan & Holmes won't re-sign before free agency

and dumping Swiston was supposidly a cap move. That doesn't mean much though. Cap move could mean wanting even more room to go after FAs vs. needing to dump him to stay under the cap. Freeing up cap room in season isn't needed to go after FA's in the off season. The SMS doesn't really exist in the off season so you can always cut players after you sign FA's if you need to. True for other teams' FAs. I meant it allows for extra cash to re-sign our owns guy prior to the end of 2014. -
