  1. So you'd have more confidence going into Labour Day if our run game was terrible tomorrow?
  2. Had both rbs get hurt this week. Brutal...
  3. Per Knuckles on twitter, Neufeld & Moore are both with the 1st team offense today.
  4. Is it ever. Moore, Sherman, Denmark, & Neufeld all playing would be huge for us.
  5. I couldn't possibly disagree more, as it goes back to my original post about proving a negative. However, this is a clearly a topic where nobody will change their mind.
  6. I agreed with what you said up to this part. What qualifications are needed to prove it's not the word of God? How do you prove/disprove a divine power exists? It's not unreasonable to have a healthy skepticism about a God dictating a book to somebody thousands of years ago.
  7. my concern is that you left a pretty obvious drive by slagging of people who are religious... it's just inflammatory. Didn't Jesus teach to turn the other cheek?
  8. I just had this debate with a friend of mine actually. I have no issue with people believing in a higher power. Who is anyone to say that God doesn't exist? God doesnt have to mean a beam of light living on a cloud. There is enough oddity in the world that I can accept we dont know everything about live, creation, existence etc. Some would have you believe that the stories of Gods and visitors and creators were due to alien intervention in early human history. This is the argument that I take exception to. Who's to say there isn't a planet full of pink minotaurs somewhere in the universe? Nobody has proven there isn't. IMO asking somebody to prove a negative isn't a valid argument. Having said all that, as long as a person doesn't push their beliefs on other people I won't argue my pov with them. If believing in something helps, all the power to you.
  9. I have trouble understanding how some people can believe there is a supreme being guiding our lives. I could see it making sense back in the days when people were afraid of the sun, but it seems crazy now. Anywho, I will slowly back away from this thread now.
  10. http://ht.ly/A1Bvf Per Penton from a CFL "insider": “(Kent) Austin’s act is getting old. It’s embarrassing. Bitching at his players, screaming at the officials every series. Same crap in league meetings. Rolling his eyes, pissed off when we don’t do things his way. I didn’t say anything but I probably wasn’t the only person in the room thinking hope this guy leaves the CFL again."
  11. I'm slowing gaining faith in them. I actually had some belief that they were going to score on the final drive last week. Winning our next game after the Edmonton debacle helped me a lot.
  12. As far as I know it's legit. A lady who works with my wife was at a stagette where this guy was stripping. He's a multi-talented guy.
  13. Denmark's route was to the corner of the endzone. He came back b/c the ball was thrown so high. The throw to Grigsby was supposed to be right to him, but the Ticat defender was between he & Willy so he had to throw it high. Willy threw it like that in the hope either Denmark or Grigsby could win a jump ball. All of this came from Willy himself.
  14. Local talent! His album release party is at The Zoo is a few weeks. (The song starts at the 40 sec mark) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCu0oakwd10
  15. under rating Spezza or over rating Schiefele? I don't like that comparison one bit. Neither. Spezza had three great seasons. IMO Scheifele's top end is what Spezza was over the rest of his career.
  16. Duncan Keith was a 2nd round pick. He didn't become a star player until his mid 20s. Trouba has a shot to get to his level. I see Scheifele as having a Jason Spezza level top end. Our farm team went to the Finals last season. There must be a few guys down there worth a look. As for Roy, he would be our 4th best centre. Richards, judging by the contract he signed, only wanted to go to a team that has the best chance to win. Factor in their need for a 2nd line centre and it was a perfect match.
  17. We were close two seasons ago. We were in the race last season too until Scheifele got hurt. I don't think we're as far away as you do. With the exception of our current starting goalie, I don't mind the team we have. We're by no means great, but I think we're improving. Of course Chevy could do more. Only Dean Lombardi did enough with his team to win a Cup last season. I agree with you that we could be a bit more active in FA. I think a guy like Downie, for example, would have really helped us. We could stand to have a little crazy in the lineup, and he can play some hockey. He could play on any line.
  18. He got behind his man a couple of times and Willy underthrew him. That's how I saw it anyways... The only blown play I noticed was the interception, but I don't know who's fault that was.
  19. Thank God Higgins isn't our HC.
  20. That's what I would do. I'd like to see him do well. I've always liked him.
  21. I made a last second switch from the Bomber D to Sask. I feel bad about that for a lot of reasons.
  22. If they offered a straight up deal, I would take it for sure.
