  1. I certainly think they are. He didn't like Mack from day 1, some of which, IMO, is attributed to his buddy Taman not getting the job. He's a sensitive guy. Doug Brown called him an ass kisser on twitter once when he defended a FP editor over an error in one of Brown's columns. Lawless followed with a string of tweets & even brought it up on his show that night. He completely overreacted to a joke on twitter. Very think skin...
  2. He bounced at least one of the fg attempts as well. Brohm was able to get it off the turf to save it.
  3. Anybody go to the Flatlanders Beer Festival this weekend? It was interesting. They were a little heavy on dark beer, which I'm not a fan of. Amsterdam Natural Blonde Lager was the best beer I found there.
  4. How? They've both been given more or less the same opportunity. Mike, how many series has Hall got the last 2 games compared to Brohm? Not anything close last night. They had 1.5 series each last night. Brohm took them in for the td. On his 2nd series they had to punt. When the Stamps took a too many men penalty, Hall came out & finished the series. Hall then got one more where he threw the pick. Having to leave the field to punt or b/c of a turnover is your own fault, not the coach's.
  5. It's not just you. I thought that too, but nobody else was mentioning it so I assumed I was wrong.
  6. How? They've both been given more or less the same opportunity. Exactly. It was a fair battle for backup, & I'm pretty sure Brohm has won it. I do hope we keep Hall though. You can never have too much qb depth & I can't imagine he'll make too much money that we couldn't afford to have him at #3. Keep Marve stashed on one of the injured lists to protect him.
  7. I was very impressed with Willy. He's been better than I was expecting. Add Watson & Moore to that receiving corp & I think we've got ourselves a competent offense for the first time in years.
  8. Our contract expired two years ago. I think our union is dragging it out, hoping the Conservatives lose the next election. It's a pretty tough negotiation when your management (ie government) publicly call its workforce overpaid & lazy, & runs on a platform of laying off as many of you as they can. We won't strike b/c it's virtually pointless for us to do so. Nobody will feel sorry for us, plus they can force us back to work whenever they want.
  9. I couldn't agree more with this. It drives me nuts when I get NDP propaganda from our union. Leadership will argue that making sure the NDP is in power *is* in the best interests of the members but its irresponsible use of their "power". its not like the old days where workers needed unions just to preserve their personal safety. They need to evolve. Regardless of whos in power, we can count on our 2% increase. Not in PSAC you can't. As I said, we've gone without a raise for several years now. They're using the recession from six years ago as the reason.
  10. Surprised to see Kemp listed 3rd at wr. Julian..., the ni receiver, isn't listed. Is he hurt, or is it just b/c he's a lock to make the team? Like seeing Gossen & Neufeld in the starting lineup. I thought they were both pretty solid in the last game. It's a little surprising that we would start an import RG, but I guess he'd be a solid fill in at tackle if we had an injury during the game.
  11. Exactly. Our Canadian talent isn't THAT bad. Last year our Canadian talent was Justin Bieber level. This year I hope we hit at least Michael Buble level. After another two decent drafts - Jim Carrey. Buble is a national treasure. He takes a back seat to nobody.

  13. All you guys & your rants against unions, specifically government unions. I'm with the Feds & I haven't had a raise in years. The government re-opened our collective agreement & changed the terms in the middle of contract. I'll never argue that we don't have good pensions, but it's not exactly like we're all living the high life on our current salaries. In all of Winnipeg you could probably count the number of employees making over $100k with just your fingers & a couple of toes. An accounting designation is required for my job & I have nine years of experience, yet I make quite a bit less than that. There are people in my office who have worked most of their life in government and are making >60k, and that's with university degrees.
  14. Sounds like Hudak is out. I don't know that I've seen an election, in a truly democratic country, with worse candidates that what you had to choose from.
  15. I watched Brohm's time in the game & I don't think he was that bad. He had a few ugly throws, but he also had to deal with the same issues Hall did. He also marched us down the field for a td. Yeah, it was called back, but the penalty had nothing to do with the pass he made.
  16. I never would have guessed you smoke pot...
  17. That's an awful trade and won't happen.. kane for neal doesn't have any legs to stand on at all... for one, we really don't have a need for neal, he's a rw, kane's a lw... buff for neal? sure but kane? i don't think so. Pens would have to add significant pieces to make that one happen. Neal can play both sides. why would chevy who wants guys who are high on character want a guy like neal, who in your post, you said, he is not well liked by basically everyone but malkin. Neal makes no sense for this team moving forward. The jets plan is to build around the young guys, not bring in a guy like neal who has inflated numbers because he plays with malkin. I didn't say nobody but Malkin liked him. Neal is still a young guy. He put up 55 points as a 23 year old with the Stars. Very similar to what Kane is doing at the same age. Difference is he's proven he can take the next step & put up all-star calibre numbers. No guarantee Kane can, with or without Malkin.
  18. 19. I follow a lot of Penguins reporters on twitter, & they all seem to think the Pens will try to make a move for Kane. Neal being the obvious asset to get it done. I didn't realize, but it sounds like Neal's not the most popular guy in the dressing room or with team staff. Malkin loves him, but a lot of other players don't. It'll be interesting to see how much trade value he has.
  20. Disagree. This is more or less arguing for the sake of arguing b/c I don't think either will happen, but Willy has already been declared our starter. Hall hasn't been given any assurances that he'll be the backup. We gave something up to get Brohm, so there are clearly people in important positions who think highly of him.
  21. He's not even close to our worst 1st round pick ever.
  22. I'm excited to see what he can do this season as well. I don't know if this is a bounce back season for him though. I think he his bounce back was in the second half of last season. I'm prediciting both he & Moore go for 1k this season.
  23. If he's bought out, I would definitely go after him. I just wouldn't want to trade for that contract.
  24. I thought January was really good on Wednesday & Jones struggled, so naturally this is how the next practice would go...
  25. Pencer has looked rock solid thus far in his career?
