What's Ladd doing wrong as a captain that makes you think he should be replaced? What makes the other three better options? Putting the C on Scheifele would be a huge mistake IMO. I'm ok with putting the C on a young guy if it's a young, developing team around him (Crosby, Toews for example). It's different with the Jets though. We've got a handful of quality vets on the team, so we don't need to burden Scheifele with the added pressure of trying to be the team leader.

I'd strongly considering pulling the trigger on a Kane for Hamonic & Strome trade. I'm not sure the Islanders would do that though.

It's too easy to paint everybody with the same brush like that. It's very frustrating to watch him take wrist shots from just inside the blue line on a nightly basis. He has the skill level to be one of the best in the NHL, but he's not close. I'm not advocating to trade him just for the sake of trading him though. If we can't get a big haul, I wouldn't do it.

I think Hamonic would have to be included in any big deal like the OP suggested. He's exactly what we need on this team.

Maybe we should just be happy that Migs hasn't resurfaced here yet. He's signed up on TEP.

I can see both sides of the argument. If you're making millions, it's probably fair to expect you to make some personal sacrifices for your job. He'll be giving his family a pretty good life thanks to his choosen profession. On the other hand, if he wants to go and the team's ok with, why should I care?

That's flawed logic. The trade was only a bad one if we have to give up more than what we got for our 2nd rounder.

Anybody who doesn't think the worst Bomber home game of all time was the 2009 Banjo Bowl is crazy. Never had a worse gameday experience in my life. I do agree though that the Boltus experience vs BC was really bad. Count me in as a Max Hall fan as well. I'm comfortable with him as a backup. If Glenn was cut, or the asking price was reasonable, I'd bring him in, but what the redblacks are asking for now is crazy.

Agreed. Getting rid of the option year window was a big mistake. I find it surprising that the CFL big thinkers thought it was a good idea.

He's a terrible interviewer. He doesn't know how to ask a proper question. He starts almost everything with "Tell me about..." rather than asking an actual question. Lawless is too agressive and gets caught up in his own ramblings. He'll lose what he's taking about when he goes off on his rants. He's also bad for cutting Hustler off. He can't handle having to wait a few seconds to say what's just come into his mind. He's better in print b/c he has time to put his thoughts together.

The CEO hands out the cash, but it's the GM who decides how it should be spent. By most accounts, he's doing a very good putting together the football ops. It doesn't matter what you think he should be making as a GM. Point is he could have taken more money for himself and chose instead to put it into areas that would be more beneficial to the team. You seem to have the same MO as Lawless lately. Nobody will accuse you of cheating on Mack if you say something good about Walters...

Right, my mistake, they are household names.... Markstrom is a pretty well known name. A couple of years ago he was being touted as the next big thing in net. Dominated in Europe before he came over here and became mediocre.

Markstrom, Matthias, & a 1st round pick for Luongo, Schneider, & a couple $million/yr is retained salary. How much longer does Gillis keep his job?
