Yesterday's man? I don't think so. Not even close. Fourth job in five years. Has to be said. So what? He was promoted out of the DC job in Toronto, and left the Esks by his own decision. It's not like he's getting fired each time for fielding incompetent defenses.

i'd agree with that... ...if the CFL had a salary cap. however, it does not. Exactly. I hate that they can spend more than us & it helps them win, but there's nothing wrong with going over the luxury tax threshold if you can afford it. I'd prefer the CFL to have a hard cap than the current system. The only league with a hard cap is the NCAA. Unless the penalty is forfeiting games, it's not a "hard cap" IMO. So what do the NHL & NFL have? As I understand it, the NHL disallows any contract that would put a team over the cap, so there's no need for a penalty.

Collaros to wait for free agency?

I'd cheer for a cloned Hitler if he could win us a Grey Cup. -

Stubler was released by the Lions today. http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/12/07/lions-dump-rich-stubler/

I definitely prefer an agressive D over what Stubler does, but he's had success with it so you really can't complain about it too much. I'd be happy if he does come here. His D in Toronto was one of the best I've seen since I started watching the CFL.

That was after the playoff loss (link). Regardless after giving it some thought this is a pretty solid hire for O'Shea. Stubler has a proven track record (one that has more success than failure) and one that has a lot of experience in this league (valuable considering how young this whole staff is). While O'Shea is a huge wild card, I would argue he can't possibly be any worse than Burke and so this makes it 2/2 in upgrades at the coaching staff spots right now in my opinion. The vets on that BC defence really like their scapegoats. Last year it was all Cauchy Muamba's fault. Apparently this year they're picking Stubler to blame their early exit on.

Collaros to wait for free agency?
sweep the leg replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I would have no issues with Burris as our starting qb next season. If we go with Collaros and he doesn't pan out I would harm myself. I honestly don't think I could handle another disappointment from this team. -
Nobody? Other than Pasztor's agent and Pencer's tattoo artist. Why is Pencer's tatoo artist laughing?
-
Why do you say that? Not even as a position coach? I don't know that he'd be my first choice at OC, but I certainly wouldn't object to having him in a different role on the coaching staff, like receivers coach for example.
-
Lawless said Washington & Miles are the names he's heard at DC, and KJ as OC. He gave another name for OC but I don't remember who.

Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming 1m RT @randyturner15: Source: #Bombers will be speaking to #Riders QB coach Khari Jones about OC job in Winnipeg now that Mike O'Shea named HC.

"Even know" That's the one Tburg uses that drives me nuts. I couldn't remember was it was back when this thread was relevant, but he just pulled it out again on the TEP. I had to jet that off my chest...

Burke Bought Out, Joins Argos as DC
sweep the leg replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Good for him. Hope he does well. -
https://twitter.com/PentonKirk Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 41s In addition to Danny McManus, #Bombers also add Ted Goveia as assistant GM, director of player personnel. Formerly with #Argos.

Says the guy who thinks there was a league-wide conspiracy to hand the Grey Cup to the Argos last season.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Some people are being dicks about it, but it really is a legitimate issue to question. Pretty much everybody on this site wanted us to do it, until we didn't. Then it's no big deal, and as you say, we should all get over it. It's hard for us to know to what extent they went looking for candidates, but you're right. I do want a thorough search. I guess I just never expected a thorough search to mean what others thought it might. That's fair. I don't know to what extent they did. I wonder about it though b/c there were really no names leaked that were actually interviewed for the job. How many things have we been able to keep quiet lately?

Burke/Creehan to Argos...Craig Dickenson to Eskimos?
sweep the leg replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So how is it that an HC and an OC are being hired at the exact same time? Doesn't O'Shea get to hire his coaches? I wasn't there, but my assumption is talk of coordinators came up in the interview process.
