No, the guy I'm specifically referring to on the "official" Bomber fan site is a troll. He drops in a few times a year to congratulate us on "winning" the battle for the first overall pick. He also ends each post with "chow", which annoys the hell out me for some reason. Sometimes all it takes is one guy to sour you on a team.

RDS Reports Possible Major Changes To Als Coaching Staff
sweep the leg replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I recall Kevin Glenn being a MOP candidate under Berry. -
This is all true. Also on the impossible to like list are Durant, Sheets, & Chamblin. I took the Stamps loss last week almost as badly as I would a Bomber loss, just b/c I so badly wanted Calgary to have their dressing room and win a Cup in their home. There problem with some Ticat fan posters, yourself excluded, is they seek out other sites to troll. For the most part Rider fans just take part in being knobs on their own site.

Yeah...we weren't that bad.

The truth is somewhere in between. We had a combination of the worst talent in the league & a bad coaching staff, possibly the worst in the CFL. Edmonton's in that conversation; Reed seemed to lose his sanity as the season went on and made some very strange decisions. His "consequences" rant is up there for the worst coach media scrums I've ever seen. 17to85 wouldn't (couldn't) answer the question so I'll put it to you, what other team's roster would you take ours over?
-
And anyone who thinks coaching wasn't the single biggest issue with this team is similarly out to lunch. What other team in the CFL would you take our roster over?

Having said that, Jones as HC kind of intrigues me. A HC doesn't have to be a great x's & o's guy, so his middling career as a coordinator/position coach doesn't concern me that much. As long as he finds good cooridinators, he could succeed by being a good leader and motivator, which he strikes me as.
-
I have no idea if Jones would be a HC, but the optics of everything so far (rumoured or done) are terrible. An old Bomber gets the CEO job. He keeps the young, inexperienced interim GM and makes him full time (probable). He hires someone whom he has a history with, Rick Worman, to be part of football ops. Now his business partner and good buddy is probably going to be our new HC. These may all turn out to be good moves, but the perception of the "old boys club" everyone was so upset about appears to be going strong. It's weird how the best people for the job are all people Miller has history with.

Wade Miller named President & CEO

Nice burn... -
If rumours are true that Khari Jones is our new HC, maybe he's already said that he'd like Burke to stay? That would be a tough pill for Burke to swallow, but if he could deal with it so could I. Has that ever happened before? I believe the Jones rumour more now than I did a week ago when it first surfaced on this forum. It's coming from more sources now.

I owned the race to be first with this news... Pretty shocking turn of events IMO. -

What *if* the Blue keep Burke as HC
sweep the leg replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I agree with this. IMO the average fan will be much more interested in player moves than the coach. Bringing in a new qb will fill most people with optimism going into 2014. -
The fact that he's always an automatic allstar selection and always shows up in the MOL category for the bombers and the way the commentary always hypes him up the reputation suggests he's a top teir o-lineman. I don't think he is, I think he's a good journeyman player but hardly elite. Oh please, you just don't like his name. What specifically is it about January's game that makes him not elite? top tier tackles will pretty much take over a game by imposing their will on the trench-battle. remember Murphy a couple years ago in BC (and his second year in Toronto)? he put his stamp on every game and his opposite number would never get a sniff of the QB or RB. he utterly demoralized defences just by making his side of the LOS into a fortress. i'm a January fan, but as good a player as he is, and as much as i enjoy his willingness to throw down, he's never been a guy who dominates. this isn't meant to be a criticism. Rob Murphy is his prime was one of the best OL I've ever seen in the CFL. That's a comparison that nobody currently in the league wins. IMO, based on who's currently in the league to be compared against, he's one of the best.
-
Funny I think January is over rated league wide just by being the best of a bad bunch here. He's not as solid as his reputation suggests. it is funny you think that, yup.. But he's right. How solid does his reputation suggest he is? He's a good, not great, OL who's at the top of a week field in the East. I haven't read many articles that suggest much more than that.

I'll give this a go. I name Walters my GM. I don't know a lot about the guys who are out there, but nobody really grabs my interest to make me say it has to be them, so I go with the guy I know. I keep Moll as my dpp and hire Worman as a consultant or whatever creative title you can come up with. I'd interview O'Shea, Chris Jones, Chapdelaine, & Dickenson. I don't think Dickenson will leave Alberta, so he's out. I really don't know enough about the rest to give much of a researched answer, but I've read that Jones has good personnel contacts and success seems to follow him around. I also think he'd run a pretty tight ship so he'd be my pick. Collaros is my top target at qb. I don't know what it would take, but I'd pay a pretty steep price for him. Maybe a 3rd rounder to speak to him, & it turns into our 1st rounder if we can sign him long term. I like Burris too, but Hamilton would have to be stupid to not protect him, even with his pending FA status. Failing either of those options, I'd take my chances in FA to get Willy. I protect: qb: Collaros NI: Watson, Greaves, Pencer, Muamba, Neufeld, & Swiston import: January, Denmark, Jones, Anderson, Turner, Wild, Sears, Washington, Parker, Dunn I think Ottawa takes Poblah. My next picks are: Thomas, Volny, Kohlert, Muamba, Fitzgerald, & Sorenson. I think they take Stephan, unless they grab a FA like Etienne to get his neg rights. I'll finish my post tomorrow. This is taking too long...

Reinbold was a ST's coach prior to being named HC here.
-
He's a pending free agent. I agree Calgary would not trade him but would they be able to resign him? IMO if he stays in Calgary it's b/c he's willing to take less money to be there. I have to believe both us & Edm. will be throwing big money around in FA for OL.
-
Willy and Demarco are free agents, Burris is a free agent and I would imagine Hamilton will use that to protect Dan LF, Bo Levi will be protected by Calgary and I'm pretty sure Nichols is also a FA Are you sure on Demarco? I thought he wasn't. Of all the years to desperately need a qb, we couldn't have asked for a better offseason for choices.
-
Burke said that Bomber management has identified 3 non-import OLs that they will be targeting this offseason, via trade or free agency. He said one of them has been out all season with a concussion. I'm pretty sure he said is there are 3 NI OL who will be FA's this offseason, plus others who they will pursue through trades. That difference in wording is why I'm pretty certain Mike is right about Tsoumpas being the guy with a concussion that Burke was referring to. He referred to a guy who was out all year with a concussion while he was talking about potential FA's.
-
I'm suprised to hear that, b/c he seems like a bit of a goof just to hear him talk when he calls in to this show. Burke toeing the line on tampering by mentioning they'll be going after the 3 NI OL who might be FA's this offseason.
-
They made a bunch of players moves and brought in a new OC. How much more can you do in-season?
-
He may not be a Bengal at all... CFL News @CFL_News 1m RT .@Bengals: NFL announces contract of DT Christo Bilukidi (from Canada) has been voided. Doesn't have proper documentation to work in US
-
Lapo & Mack wanted him to come back for 2010 & Lefors said no.
-
I like the idea, they were just overdoing it. There are a few teams in the NFL that do it as well.
