And why do you have to always get personal? I wasn't mad, dude. I always get personal? Alright... Anyways, how about that middle ground?

Kohlert's the player we sign of the 2 (Etienne & Kohlert). If I was going to gamble, I'd protect Kohlert then make sure he gets signed but leave Etienne exposed to Ottawa. If Etienne isn't selected & wants to come back here then he has to take a significant pay cut to do so based on his numbers the past 3 seasons. All first rounders get paid $85-95,000 a season. He then takes a 25-35% pay cut on a new contract. If he balks then sayonara, kid. Best of luck as he won't get any better offers even in his beloved home land. No they don't. None of them do. If they are lucky they can make that if they reach performance bonuses. Muamba isn't making close to that in base salary on his current deal. So, you're saying Henoc Muamba makes $45,000 a year? Really, do tell? When Chris Bauman signed with the Stamps after bouncing atound the CFL (inc Winnipeg) after he was selected as the very first pick in the draft back whenever, his salary for a backup depth receiver on the Stamps that they are paying him now is about $135,000 a year according to people in the know. And you're saying Etienne makes what, $35,000?? Forty?? Why would a first round pick sacrifice his body & his time to get paid that? He could get a job paying more money. Do you not see the possibility of there being middle ground between 35-45K & 85-95k? Why do you get so angry about everything?

Why would we ever protect Pontbriand? 6 NI's Pencer, Swiston, Neufeld, Watson, H. Muamba, Greaves (possibly C. Muamba instead of Pencer-depends who's seen as a starter next year) 10 imports + qb: Hall, January, Denmark, Turner, Dunn, Wild, Parker, Sears, Johnson, Washington, Anderson

He's already said he would bring in a qb coach if he's here next season.
-
were you in the Hamilton dressing room? yes
-
yeah well Burris coming into this mess would just pout and be a total jackwang in the dressing room, blaming everyone else for the team's failures. No thanks. Hamilton was a disaster last year and that didn't happen with him.
-
As Rids, I presume? I never knew that was him before.

Don't put any of that blame on the apathetic fans. If people on a forum like Morning Big Blue are apathetic towards this team, that falls completely on the Bombers. If, God forbid, Tim Burke is back as head coach next season, I know I'm not alone as a diehard fan and season ticket holder in saying I'm completely done with this team. I'll watch the CFL, because I love the game of Canadian football, but I won't be cheering on this insanity. That itself would be insane! I wouldn't go that far, but I do agree with your first sentence.

Hall has been terrible this season, but he'll snap out of it. He's too good not to. It's fair to laugh at anybody who thinks he hasn't already shown he's an impact player. Trouba's potential is insane. He's 19 years old and he was out killing a penalty last night with under 2 minutes to go in the 3rd period of a 1 goal game. He was our best dman last night IMO.

Says the guy who still has Joe Mack posters on his bedroom ceiling.

"B/c that's what had to be done to get Neufeld", said a guy with a grasp of the obvious.

I like listening to some of the US teams' announcers. It really makes you appreciate what we have.

I watched, but made good use of my PVR. With free Centre Ice right now, I was channel surfing between hockey games on Saturday. I'd go through the PVR of the Bombers game to see what was happening, but that was it. I blew through the entire game in maybe an hour, skipping ahead for most of the time we were on D. I did the same thing. Watched the first quarter PVRd the rest and went to the movies with the kids. Came back and just skipped through. First game I can remember truly not caring about....sad really! And BTW wow do you get free center ice?!? It's free for everyone until Oct. 19. I frickin' love it, but it may cost me my family if I keep it past then... On Shaw? I don't think I get it on Bell. Maybe I do IDK! I know it didnt get the last two Jets games damn BELL!! I have MTS, but I'm guessing it's free for everyone. Check it out tonight and see.

Get ready for all the boosters to tell us why this is such an unrealistic goal... Don't be a knob. Posts like this serve no purpose but to start arguments.

That's basically what we did. Neufeld for a 2nd rounder & Hall for a 4th rounder. Your previous post allowed for the fact that Neufeld & a 2nd rounder are equal value, so what's the problem? no sadly that's just more spin. No where is this trade being reported as Neufeld traded, Hall is the biggest part of this trade, he was traded for the o-lineman, but Walters couldn't pull the trigger on just that, he had to bend to Taman and add to make it happen. I don't think Neufeld for a 2nd is a good trade either for the record. Neufeld to me is something we already have on the roster. So even though this trade meets what you previously said was ok (though now you've flip flopped...), it's no good b/c it's not being framed that way in the media? Alright...

you can't do that because he's the key piece to this trade because he is the best player in the trade. Doesn't matter if he was gone anyway, the idea behind making those trades is to give something that may be gone and get something, we gave that plus something that could have been a long term solution in the draft pick. If the 2nd round pick and Neufeld have similar value then why did we include hall in the first place? Sorry people but Walters got schooled by a veteran GM on this trade. Taman gets a key piece for a grey cup try AND a pick to mitigate the loss of NI depth (someone that maybe he looses in the expansion draft anyway) Walters gets a player who may or may not be better than some of the guys on his team anyway.... trade for the sake of making a trade and he displayed poor asset management. The problem with this post is you're working under the false assumption you have any idea what Hall's trade value was around the league. It was a good trade for the Riders, so what? We got value as well. Do you think whomever we took at 11 would be a candidate to start at RT next season? Probably not, & that guy would be right around the same age as who we just picked up.
-
Yeah, I agree with that. Good observation. Taking Neufeld for a second pick? Nope not a chance. Haven't you completely contradicted yourself?

GDT - Bombers @ Stamps - no GIF thread

I think we've found something pretty good in Jarvis Jones. That's at least one positive. For Burke, I don't think he'll be back, but I also won't be shocked if he is. I give him a 50-50 chance of coming back if Walters sticks as our GM, and a 1% chance if we have a new GM. Based on what I've seen so far, I think Hall deserves an invite back to camp next year. I think he can improve to the point where he could be a viable backup. -
Rumour: Sask Wants Hall

I don't think the offense was worse under Kelly. We put up a 400 yard passing game, plus 3 more 300 yard games that season. That probably won't happen this season. -

Willy plus a pick - 2nd round - and this is done and done. I don't know why you'd assume Hall has that much value. Willy is also a potential free agent. The second round pick should be conditional on him signing here. I'm pretty sure KBF meant a 2nd coming our way, which is overvaluing Hall. -

A majority of posters on Riderfans are saying they'd deal Willy for him. I'd be all over that. I don't know if Willy will turn into a starter, but getting him for the expiring contract of an import de who most likely won't come back is more than worth it. -
