  1. I agree with those who say him keeping quiet about it is the biggest problem. It'll be interesting to see how this ends.
  2. I forgot to mention him, but I completely agree with you. Cortez taking over for Dyce is a huge upgrade.
  3. I think their OL will be much better this season. They're all good players. but I think last year was the first time any of them had ever played together before, and it showed. A year of familiarity should really help them out. An improved OL will make the entire offense better, especially Durant, who's already better than what Calgary & Edmonton have. Sheets is a top notch rb & the receiving corp. should be improved this season. I also like the moves they made on D this offseason. Chick, Foley, Anderson (as long as he's at corner, not db), and Weldon are all nice upgrades for them. They have to show they can do it on the field together, but on paper their D looks much improved.
  4. I've read that he's being beaten pretty handily by Demarco for the backup job. The same article said the bigger issue might be if they want Hart as the #3 instead of Elliott, b/c they apparently think highly of his potential. edit: the article also noted how Westerman has been the star of camp so far... As for the West this season, I think the Riders & Lions will be the top two teams. The Esks OL will have them in the basement.
  5. Something I forgot to note was that the beer arrived today, & there's way more selection. Keith's, Stella, Bud light Lime, & a few others I can't remember, in addtion to the standard stadium fare.
  6. Couple thoughts on what I saw: -Mike Renauld was clearly the best punter today. Very consistent. The other 3 all struggled. Cameron would get 1 good one off for approx. every 3 he shanked. Huthison was probably second best, but the gap was pretty wide. -Pierce looked very good today. In the session without the ol & dl he was money on nearly every throw. Goltz & Hall were also good in that session. Clement struggled badly at times. He'd throw an incompletion then walk back towards the coaches with his hands in the air. You could see the frustration. He hit a couple of long td passes, but he held onto the ball for so long before he threw them there's no way that would have ever happened in a real game. -Pierce (edited: put Matthews earlier) made a few really nice catches deep. Adams also caught a nice one that went for a long catch & run td. Adams also blocked a Cameron punt in a st's session. -The d won most snaps against the o in the running drills. -Parked looked great. He made a fantastic diving knockdown in coverage and blew up a few running plays. I'm impressed how good he is in coverage for a guy his size.
  7. Do we? I can't remember many guys who fit that description.
  8. I have to think he's on a big contract right now. It would be interesting to see if he could get the same money again on the open market. I really don't think he'll be cut though, so none of this probably matters.
  9. Probably, if we wait too long. If he doesn't have an extension by the end of the season why wouldn't he test the NFL? IMO the longer we wait to get this done the more chance there is of this having a bad outcome for us.
  10. I certainly hope he doesn't.
  11. It's the sam that they've renamed "nickleback". Washington is the guy behind Hefney who's pushing him for his spot. Burke has said as much. I saw a TSN article that said Washington is penciled in as the wil lb. Parker is the guy who's currently #1 on the depth chart at wil, or at least he was practicing with the #1 unit at that spot.
  12. Not really related too much to what's going on today, but Burke said yesterday that he expects to see a lot from Isaac Anderson this season. That seems like a pretty solid clue that he's going to make the team.
  13. Markett & Washington have been singled out as being very good so far in camp. Washington in particular is a guy I wouldn't be shocked to see win a starting job.
  14. Miles was definitely a guy I thought had a chance to be a good player for us. I suppose this doesn't necessarily mean he can't be though.
  15. I didn't see the play, but heard the cheering and saw Kohlert running back from the endzone with the ball. Pierce's first skelly session was much better than his second. I thought the D won the team session near the end of practice. I also forgot to mention that McGee was playing nickel with the starting d today.
  16. I was there today. The place looks pretty good but there's still a lot of work left to do. My seats are pretty good. I'm in the 13th row of the upper deck and I've got a railing that's just on the edge of my sightline. It's not bad, I'll just have to get used to it. I was in row 32 of the old stadium and these seats really don't seem that much further away, which is nice. -I thought Pierce was the best qb today. He was hitting all of his targets in the first skelly session. Goltz was probably second best, and sure seemed to have the strongest arm and the most athleticism of all of them. Hall started poorly, as he threw a few passes behind his receivers in a passing drill, but seemed to get better as the day went on. They had two skelly sessions going at once, so I didn't get to see Hall or Clement run theirs -They were running a passing drill into the wind and Clement couldn't get the ball to the far sideline. I was least impressed with him, but again, I didn't get to see him run skelly -Simpson looks like he's a better football player than everybody else on the field. If he can stay healthy he's going to have a monster season -I thought Degrate & Hyde looked good. Hyde made a very nice play to knock a ball down at the los and Degrate was giving January trouble with his speed coming around the corner -Not many dropped balls today from any of the receivers, at least not that I saw. Matthews looked the best of them all. Kennedy made some nice catches as well -Poblah was about 5 yards offside on nearly every play I saw him in.
  17. 17to85, are you part of the OB banned list now? I saw your post in the "exciting changes" thread and now it's gone.
  18. Miles & Anderson are the two new(ish) receivers I'm most interested in, although if Pierce can put it together his size would be a nice bonus on the outside.
  19. He's the only rb in rookie camp, so he should have his position coach all to himself.
  20. Sure he was a loveable guy, but an assistant coach should not be one of only 4 people chosen for an honour like that. I would have had Walby before either of Brown or Poplawski.
  21. For you guys that were banned from OB, are you allowed to view the site as a guest? I'm getting a message saying "this account has been suspended" on a white & orange screen. I'm not entirely sure why I'd be banned though...
  22. if he plans to call the infraction he needs to go ahead and do it. It wasn't a delayed call because both teams had a player going off. I get all of that, but what did the Hawks player do to deserve a penalty on that play? He only reached up to hold on as he was being power bombed to the ice. I probably wouldn't have called either of them (Wings player was questionable), but especially not the Hawks player.
  23. Holy crap did Walkom ever pound it into the Hawks' collective asses with that call. If they lose that'll be up there with the Kerry Fraser "no call" on Gretzky as the worst referee mistakes in playoff history.
  24. Has there been anyone who was upset with you guys for doing this (other than Colin)?
