Jets v Blues playoff who wins and why.
sweep the leg replied to Mark F's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Schenn really looked like a ***** in that scrum with Buff. Punching a guy in the back of the head, while he's being held, and then backing off when he gets loose should be pretty embarrassing for him. -

St.Louis's effort level is incredible. They're winning most of the puck battles, and both their forechecking and backchecking is giving us no time to make a play. -

They had 32 shots, three more than us. Three of four goals were wrists shots from no closer than the faceoff dot. Only one of them had even a hint of a screen. Those are shots an NHL goalie needs to stop. -

I agree with what Maurice did. Lindholm has really impressed me, and I don't think sitting a healthy Tanev is even a consideration. -
Westwood was advocating paying him up to $9m. That seems excessive...

Who do you think should be? Lindholm seems like the only other option, but he's been good in every game he's played for us. Helps our pk too. -
Yeah, it would have been a dereliction of their duty to have not surveiled that campaign.

It's ridiculous that this is being brought up, but I hope he's asked about it every day until the end of this series. -

Jets in six. When they're on their game, they can beat anybody. Nothing like playoff intensity to refocus a team. -
Lol, that's a good plan. It's easy to learn to hate a team when your team plays them seven games in a row. Two years ago I never would have thought I'd care about the Predators.

50 Riders - seems obvious 20 - Flyers. I was a Pens fan until the Jets came back, so the hate was easy to build. Their fans are terrible for a different reason that Rider fans, but still terrible. Simmonds, Giroux, Hartnell etc. all make me angry just discussing them. 10 - Preds - PK Subban is the worst. They've also had Hartnell, and now Simmonds, so that makes them easier to hate. Oh, they're also the Jets' biggest rival. 5 - Capitals - Couldn't stand Ovie at the height of the Crosby-Ovechkin battles. Gained a lot of respect for him at the World Championships when most of the Russians left the ice for our anthem, but he and Malkin tried to make them stay. They still have Tom Wilson though, and they're still a Pens rival. 5 - Leafs. - TSN and Sportsnet force feeding us the Leafs all season makes it almost impossible not to hate them. 10 - split evenly among Ducks, Wild, Stamps, Lions, Bears, Packers, Patriots, & GS Warriors I don't care enough about baseball or soccer to hate any teams. I don't really care about basketball either, but GSW are so cocky that I've found it in me to hate them anyways.

Game 80 : @ Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota

You & Goalie were harping on this last year too. Then they tore it up in the playoffs. -

So Scheif and Wheeler are lazy, locker room cancers, and possibly sleeping with teammates wives? Good thing we got to the bottom of this. -

They won the Cup his last year in Chicago. He couldn't have been that big of a distraction. Then they brought him back a few years later when he was off his big contract. -
Around The NHL 2018/2019
sweep the leg replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I think he'll retire. He's old and beat up. His contract was front loaded, so he's not making as much anymore, and the Canucks get stuck with a worse cap hit than the Panthers do if that happens. -

Bold prediction; Panthers will sign Bobrovsky this summer and be a playoff team next year. -
Washington can beat them too.

Around the League: 2019 Off Season
sweep the leg replied to SpeedFlex27's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not against the idea, but not sure I'd pay to watch it. Maybe if they guaranteed the starters would play the 1st half, but I can't see that happening. Watching a bunch of guys I've never heard of, on teams I don't care about, play a meaningless game isn't appealing to me. -
He's soundly beaten a lot of the top guys. Poirier, Aldo, Holloway, Mendes, Alvarez. His only losses were to Diaz at a weight he had no business fighting at, and Khabib, who's probably the best lightweight ever. Of the current fighters at lightweight, the only guy I can't see him ever beating is Khabib.
