  1. Most open I can remember the mop race being in a long time. I can see the case for any of the West nominees, except Long, to win it.
  2. The classic fan forum argument. Throw in a comment about somebody's reading comprehension and you'd have all the bases covered.
  3. That sure looked like a td to me. I don't feel bad about it though.
  4. Lol...didn't you say this team wouldn't makes the playoffs and everybody should be fired?
  5. Ben Askren traded to UFC for Mighty Mouse. Weird that they can trade fighters... Askren vs Khabib would be an amazing display of mma wrestling & grappling! They fight in different weight classes, but they're basically the same size.
  6. I can't believe you can't believe it. It wasn't exactly Winnipeg's best and brightest opposing him in this election. This year might have been the least inspiring group of mayoral candidates to challenge an incumbent ever. Edit: Motkaluk did get more votes that I thought she would though. This city is staunchly against almost anything that's not status quo.
  7. I think so too. He'll just wait a year or two until people stop talking about it as much.
  8. I would probably lose my job with a dui, and I don't drive. We have a code of conduct we have to sign every year. No, I don't think he'll be suspended, although I think the CFL should have a policy on it. Hughes could probably use the rest anyways. The old man is slowing down with only two sacks since Labour Day.
  9. C'mon, you're smarter than that. It's always a big deal when a professional athlete gets a dui.
  10. I don't share that fear. There are a lot of players on that team who look like they don't belong in the NHL. I'm chalking that one up to a Jets collapse. Got to see McDavid live for the first time. His speed is ridiculous. Wasn't impressed by Draisaitl though. Never would have noticed him if I wasn't looking for him. Obviously just one game though. He looks much bigger than his listed 6'2 208. Must have big shoulder pads... Also thought Edmonton D looked slow.
  11. We got smashed in that game though. To me, the regrettable games are the ones that we could have won if not for one or two mistakes. The BC loss and the Banjo Bowl are at the top of that list for me.
  12. Negotiating doesn't appear to be a strength of yours. You already said you'd pay. Why would he offer you anything now?
  13. That would be a significant downgrade from what he currently has.
  14. That seems like a good trade for the Riders. Are both Lavoie and Blake pending FAs?
  15. Our D held the Esks to fewer yards passing & rushing, and did it in their home stadium. In the Riders prior four games, they gave up an average of nearly 30 pts/gm playing against Mtl, TO, Ottawa, & us. Hughes has two sacks in the last five games, and they came against the two worst OL's in the league. They're good for sure, but I don't think they've been dominant lately.
  16. There's been much worse stuff happen in boxing than what we saw this weekend. They've always been allowed back. The only thing that really bothered me was the guy who came in from the crowd and punched McGregor. That could have been so much worse.
  17. Edit
  18. Goal post or not, he wasn't going to be in position to break up that pass.
  19. That's a better point than pretending there's been an exodus of great talent leaving to star elsewhere.
  20. Is it not an assumption that you're making about the availability of cap space?
  21. We're on a one game winning streak.
  22. Love Stu. Happy to see him get a job with the organization.
  23. You can't. You need to work harder to get the vote out on your side.
  24. Serra fight is kind of cherry picking. That's his only one under 500k, and it was very early in his career. Serra was also thought of as a plug who only got his shot bc he won a reality show against a bunch of other plugs. At the height of his popularity, GSP was drawing 750k ppv buys fighting guys like Koscheck and Dan Hardy, hardly big name guys. Jones has been at or under 350k buys in three of his last five fights.
  25. The two DC fights drew big numbers. Otherwise, his numbers have been a little underwhelming for somebody who, with one exception, has only been in title fights for the last few years. IMO he needs a big name opponent to draw big numbers.
