Drew Edwards suggested having a signing bonus threshold for allowing players to go. If the NFL team is willing to show a commitment of $7k, for example, as a signing bonus, the player would be allowed to go. They can't go if it's just a camp invite with no commitment. I thought it sounded like a reasonable idea.

I don't really have a problem with him trying to get what he can while he can. I realize he signed a contract, but when they're not guaranteed I won't begrudge a guy trying to maximize his earnings.

I'm sure it's much easier to say no to it when you had no chance to begin with. I'm old and making more than that to sit on my ass now, but if I was still in my early-mid 20s, and good enough to make a living at it, there's no question I would do it.

They cut him before TC last year. IIRC, he missed the end of the 2015 season with an injury. I thought he was cut b/c he still hadn't recovered in time for last year's camp.

I'd be more concerned about his attitude if we were bringing him in to sit behind a young qb. I don't think Durant knowing his place will be an issue behind an established vet.
