The government didn't handle this very well, but the guy was going to get paid no matter what. They should have publicly explained why they felt compelled to pay what they did. I think they made the right decision to pay him, as I agree with others that fighting this out until the end only would have resulted in much higher costs. It seemed like he had happy feet at times. That one play in particular where he took off with it. He danced himself right into his offense line before he took off. He had great protection and put himself in a bad spot. edit: re his accuracy, the pass to Dressler in the endzone was bad, but I thought the other miss in the endzone was Denmark's fault. If he doesn't slow down that pass would have been on the money.
