  1. Meh. His D in Hamilton was nothing special, and Sask's D was historically bad after he took it over from Hall.
  2. He made a handful of bad passes and I thought it looked like he didn't know where he should be at times. Indecisive. I can't remember many specific plays to reference, but it just felt like it would be obvious to pick out who the kid up from the minors was in that game. I understand that the nerves of his first game and only having one or two practices would cause a lot of that. He had a few good plays too though. Carried it up a couple of times and made a nice pinch in the third that created a chance. Stu looked like he was doing a lot of coaching for him on the ice. They were talking after the whistle after most plays.
  3. That's not how it looked in person. I thought he had pretty rough night.
  4. Gotta defend Stu. In addition to the two softies, that mixup behind the net that led to a goal was also on Helle imo. He was way too indecisive with the puck and the dmen had no idea what he was going to do.
  5. No reservations about checking out their stolen personal pictures?
  6. This list is really surprising to me. How aren't Chris Schultz, Mike O'Shea, Terry Greer, & Mervyn Fernandez already in the HOF? Short(ish) CFL careers for Greer & Fernandez I suppose, but they're some of the first names I remember as stars in the CFL when I started watching football as a kid.
  7. I'm firmly in the camp that thinks we need to bring someone in to create a 1a-1b situation. There are several pending fas who could fill that role; Johnson, Condon, Darling, even Mason. None of those guys, imo, are likely to go anywhere as the undisputed #1. Maybe Darling, but the supply of goalies is likely to be greater than the demand, and although he's looked good as as a backup, he's not a proven guy yet. Edit: I had Elliott on that list, but his recent hot streak probably keeps him a Flame.
  8. This is mostly true. I don't mind Ripper though. Several posters here are dicks to him and he handles it fairly well.
  9. It's probably time to move on from this.
  10. Just listened to a radio interview with Derek Taylor. He thinks the Riders will be 1st or 2nd in the West this season. That's a bold prediction.
  11. So we agree neither guy adds much offense. Unfortunately for Petan, if he's not adding offense he's a liability. If nothing else, at least Thorburn is big and a decent skater so he can throw his weight around. I'll qualify this argument about the two of them by saying I think we should be able to do better than either one of them.
  12. Petan has 12 points in 43 games and is both soft and terrible defensively. I agree with Maurice that Thorburn offers the team more than Petan does right now. Petan should be in the AHL playing top six minutes.
  13. Good for Malkin for answering the challenge and good for Wheeler for kicking his ass. Sestito made the Pens look bad last night. I'd love to hear Lemieux's thoughts on how he was used.
  14. The guys on the ice went after him, what else should have happened? It was late in a close game. Anything else would have been stupid. Wheeler should challenge him tonight if they want to do something about it.
  15. Agreed, plus he's an excellent forechecker. They work well together imo.
  16. Did somebody else choose that number for him? He has a reputation for being full of himself, and choosing a number that will put the spotlight on him (moreso) seems par for the course. I'm really surprised the team let him do it.
  17. At least they gave Owens a bit of an out on the squash with Jericho distracting him. I loved the welterweight title match. I thought the little English guy (forget his name) would be legit hurt when he landed on his head from that suplex. The rest of it was pretty meh. Any idea why Rusev is losing all the time now? I liked his character...
  18. That's how I see Petan. Imo he'll put up good number in lower leagues, but never amount to much in the NHL.
  19. Matthias was outstanding tonight. Great work down low. I love his effort level.
  20. Bisping went full villain yesterday and GSP can't trash talk to save his life. That was my takeaway from their presser. Also of note; GSP said his walk around weight is between 185-190 and he could easily make lightweight, as he's smaller than some current lightweights. Sets up a fight with McGregor, a huge pay day, and a belt in a 3rd weight class if he wins.
  21. We didn't agree on my point if you're calling Durant a stud. Your qualifer above should definitely be added to Durant's "stud" status as well, as 547 yards in two years is nothing special.
  22. Anybody else think that bit at the end of Smackdown with Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt was terrible? Super cheesy imo.
  23. That's an indictment of the draft class more than an endorsement of Durant.
