I think Stafford would get us a 4th or 5th rounder. Maybe even a 3rd given the way some trades are structured to improve the pick based on the playoff performance of the team. That might be pushing it though.

The problem seems fairly obvious. Only one team had a chance to score. It's nothing like running up the score, b/c after each td in a blowout the other team at least gets a chance to respond.

1st round pick for a slightly above average goalie is a bad example to give when arguing goalies have zero value. I agree Budaj wouldn't bring much value back though. Too old and I don't trust that this season is any more than a one hit wonder.

I do to. I think he'll be similar to Chick; so-so in half a season when he came came back to the CFL after a longish stint in the NFL, but regain his old form in the following season.

Lol at your certainty. A year is a long time and lots can change before he becomes a fa. Think back to this time last year and what the odds were that Durant would be in Montreal and Nichols the undisputed starter in Winnipeg right now.

I think the Argos are in a worse position. They're bad just about everywhere, with no leadership and a lot of pending fa's. A trade for Franklin and some decent work in FA (OL, rb) could help the Riders a lot. Those are big ifs, but imo they have more hope than the Argos do.

If he turns into a great qb, and re-signs long term, that trade would 100% be worth it. Best case scenario is for the Riders to give up a tonne to get Franklin, then see him leave for the NFL in a year. Franklin being a flop would be funny too, but I'm too nice to wish that on the young man.

I'm not sure I see that as a great deal. If you're the worst starting qb in the league you should make the least amount of money. Good for Glenn though.
