Yeah these were my thoughts exactly. For 10 years all of the anti-Harper crew had it easy, just take whatever decision he made, or action he took, or word he said, and spin it to the negative, and if that failed, just make **** up and say that, and they were rarely challenged on it, or called out for out-right lying. It was a great job. Now the shoe is on the other foot. For four years (or more) all of those whiners and criers now have the difficult task of being on the defensive instead of the offensive. Not quite so exhilarating. Especially when the guy you are defending is known to be extremely gaffe-prone, and not really that politically astute. Welcome to your new role, defenders of the indefensible. How does it feel? I'm sure it feels great to have their guy in charge. I think the other side has it worse off with their label changing to "whiners and criers".

If it's a regular benenfit that's been provided to all PM's, I have no problem with it. Anybody who turns down perks of their job is an idiot. The two things that bother me in this story are people trying to paint this as an attack on his wife's parenting ability, and anybody who adds "gate" behind a word to make it seem more scandalous. This prior is a blatant attempt to change the narrative of the story to a feminist issue and the latter is so overdone it's ridiculous.

I am not familar with him. What character issues? All I see is a very talented, high scoring player with size and ability. He had a tough contract negotiation, but that's not a sign of poor character. There aren't many players on our team I wouldn't give up to get him. The only concern I'd have with him is how much he'd cost to keep when his new deal comes up and if we're willing to pay. I like Ducky's comparison of Torts to Keenan. He likes having a whipping boy.

Scheifele plays in the Jets top 6 but I'd be hard pressed to come up with 5 other teams where he would do the same. I put the number at 9 (Flames, Panthers, Wild, Preds, Flyers, Sens, Devils, Leafs, & Canucks). Still not great though. He's doing ok, but he's so inconsistent. That should get better with age though.

Do you mean b/c you want them getting more playing time in the AHL, or b/c they're just not good enough? I can see an argument for your first point, but they're all good enough to play in the NHL. Lowry & Copp together is a very good 4th line imo.

That is unbelievable. In what context is it culturally insensitive? I'd continue to do it, wait for a ban or arrest and let some pro bono rights activist lawyer take it to the supreme court. Some people (not you KBF) have too much time on their hands to come up with ways to be offended. In another ridiculous story, free yoga on the campus of U of Ottawa has been suspended b/c it's been deemed culturally insensitive. They even had a meeting with all parties involved to see if they could call it "relaxation stretching", but that wouldn't work either. Apparently there was one person who complained, so they shut it down.

I just find it hilarious that I've been told now for weeks that all of these refugees were totally screened and totally cool and the UN and the government know exactly what they were doing, and if I didn't just 100% agree with this and instead asked that the Government make sure that these refugees were screened properly that I was a racist, Islamaphobe, bigot, insert stupid label here, and now the Canadian government is actually admitting that maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't be allowing in single males. But why? Isn't it totally xenophobic to assume these single males will be strapping on self-detonation kits after they "integrate" into our society? I don't see how it all reconciles with the politically correct psyche, but once again, it appears the politically correct feel-good lefty crowd has tied themselves into an ideological pretzel here.
