  1. I don't think ol' Danny boy is quite that spry these days but yeah that would be nice to see!
  2. Do you think the Riders would have any hope of winning games if they had lost 2 of their best defensive players, their best receiver and their best OL like the Bombers have? Picture the Riders without Ed Gainey, Henoc Muamba, Brendon Labatte, and Duron Carter. You really think the Riders would have the depth to compete without those players? You're dreaming.
  3. It seemed like Montreal was starting to play better but they took a big loss tonight, 6-3 to Minny. Jets gotta keep it rolling. Start Mason?
  4. Maybe not as flashy as everyone else but I just want to shout out to that Kulikov-Myers pairing. Sure they're not perfect but they are MILES ahead of the third pairings we have put on the ice in the past. Kulikov is turning out to be a pretty nice pickup.
  5. Actually no, it's not a sports journalist's job to ask athletes political questions. They can do it, or they can not do it. But it's not their job and it's certainly not their responsibility. Gotta love a guy who sits on twitter and complains about his colleagues. If he cares so much, then he should do it himself. Not try to bully and shame his peers into taking up the mantle for his cause.
  6. This was inevitable. Can't expect all these guys to just confess and apologize. It's also important to note that even if 9/10 accusations are true, it doesn't give the 10th person a free pass for making a false accusation. All the anecdotal evidence points to Ratner being a huge creep. But what can you prove in court? That's what matters, in the eyes of the law. As it should be.
  7. Probably for the best. He's starting to gather dust in the pressbox.
  8. Never happened. What full contact practices?
  9. There's nothing wrong with having a starting QB who rarely misses games. And if he's always playing, it's tough to judge the "in game" ability of his backups.
  10. Looks like we're up against Buckley at QB for the Stamps. Makes things a little more interesting...
  11. These two statements do not make sense together.
  12. Well sure, if the goalie starts playing worse, the team will struggle more. I think that's true of every team. Make no mistake, this team is not dominant by any stretch. But they're better than last year and trending up. Whether they've "turned a corner" or not... I don't know. I'm not sure what that means or what that would look like. Teams don't just change overnight. That's why I thought all the panic after 2 games was so silly. Three week training camp and the team hasn't completely erased all their issues? Shocking! But they've gotten steadily better as the season has rolled on and that's what matters.
  13. Yes of course they have brought in players to fill the PR, that is the absolute bare minimum though... every team does that. There is a big difference between bringing in prospects with no CFL experience and signing guys like Derel Walker, or making trades for established CFL players.
  14. I think some of your imaginations are running away with you. It's been a 2A and 2B situation all season. Nobody from the Bombers ever took a stand on Davis being the undisputed backup. But you gotta put someone higher on the depth chart. The fact of the matter is that Davis and LeFevour were probably separated by the thinnest of margins, and the coaches weren't happy with how Davis performed when he got the chance, so they go to LeFevour to see if he can do better. There is no big conspiracy here.
  15. I didn't realize Frank Renaud was back on the team. Those fringe Canadian special teamers sure do bounce around a lot.
  16. The biggest disappointment for me this year hasn't been the coaching. it's been the lack of effort from the GM and scouting department. Last year we made an effort, bringing in TJ Heath and Kevin Glenn for the stretch run. Around the league you see it this year, Edmonton brings in Derel Walker and Aaron Grymes, Saskatchewan never stops bringing in players. But we chose to stand pat and that was definitely a little disappointing for me.
  17. I think you give too much credit to "most of us."
  18. Playoffs are a must, for sure. And I think we're on track for that.
  19. This one is more interesting. Groping and grabbing is obviously very wrong, but she also mentions him being "openly flirtatious and talking about sex." To me, that might be a little creepy but some women might have no problem with it. And it's certainly not illegal. I think as all this comes out, we have to keep in mind that flirting is not necessarily sexual harassment. Talking about sex is not necessarily sexual harassment. EDIT: Just noticed she was 17, so yeah that's a fair thing for her to complain about. But when it's all adults, I believe my point still stands.
  20. I'd argue that Bond's impact on the running game was much smaller than his impact on the passing game. But sure, there is a drop-off there. I still think they can be successful.
  21. Not at all. Well, I suppose indirectly. It's not a small group of people who want Maurice gone. And unfortunately nothing short of a Stanley Cup will change their minds. Maybe even that wouldn't, for some.
  22. Yeah I'm a little baffled by it as well, to be honest.
  23. Some people just want Maurice gone and no amount of wins will change their mind. So now we have to deal with "Yeah we won but can you believe our second line was so bad.... Maurice has gotta go."
  24. This is almost as clueless as the Greg Carr suggestion.
  25. Why is it always about loyalty? Why would MOS have more loyalty to LeFevour in his first year here than Davis in his third? That makes no sense. This is about who they think will play better and obviously the answer they came up with is LeFevour. I can see why most would disagree but have no idea where this misplaced notion of MOS doing it out of loyalty comes from.
