  1. Eichel has two seasons under his belt - 56 and 57 points. $10 million/season is an overpayment no matter how you spin it. But Buffalo had very little choice.... they needed to lock him down long term.
  2. Looks like Matthias has been moved to center on the fourth line and will play a role on the PK as well. We'll see what happens. Game Day, **** yeah!
  3. I would think it will be Copp on the third line with Lowry and Armia now that he is healthy.
  4. Laine's better
  5. Pretty sure Warner had 3 sacks in his first game back and then never got another one. And it may have been the bowling ball, Jerome Haywood, who took over at DT afterwards.
  6. MOP: Andrew Harris MOC: Andrew Harris MODP: Alex Singleton MOSTP: Roy Finch MOL: Stanley Bryant MOR: Richard Leonard In my opinion...
  7. Played div 2 football at a fairly dominant level before transferring to SIU for 2016 (Div 1-FCS). Threw a lot of passes, and completed most of them - 67.4% with 15 TD to 4 INT in 8 games. Good size - 6'2", 205 lbs. He's got a fairly interesting backstory: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2016/sep/13/blanchette-coltons-josh-straughan-overcame-obstacl/#/0
  8. While Ricky Williams never lived up to the hype or the salary, I thought he was still an okay RB. Better than lots we've seen up here. 109 carries for 526 yards (4.8 YPC) in half a season. Not all-star numbers but not terrible.
  9. Puns and mental engagement do not go together!
  10. If Tanev can scrape together five goals, I see no reason why Armia/Lowry can't put together an additional 35. Both guys are capable of 15-20. Of course, you're never going to see a line stick together for a full 82 games anyways. I think Ray Ferraro put it best when he was a guest on 1290 the other day. If you have two dynamite scoring lines (and the Jets do), and your goal as a team this year is to reduce goals against moreso than increasing goals for, do you lean towards a 3rd line who can be more defensively responsible or one who can be more of an offensive threat? The answer is obvious... you go with defence-first. Now.... can Tanev be that defensively responsible player? I don't know the answer to that. Maybe.
  11. He has very little offensive skill. On the other hand he is still developing and his skating is excellent. If he can become a great penalty killer, he could be a long-term, low-cost asset for the Jets.
  12. Climate change or not, there are still going to be wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters. The link between increasing extreme climate activity and human-induced climate change is spurious at best. This is merely an attempt to capitalize on immediate human suffering to gain support to achieve an agenda.
  13. Comrie should be waivers-eligible starting in 2019-2020 unless he plays a ton of games in the NHL before that time. Probably not coincidentally, that's when Steve Mason becomes a free agent again.
  14. He's been one of the top goalies in the AHL for a few years now. I actually find it shocking the Bruins would let him go in favor of keeping 31 year old Anton Khudobin. Makes no sense. And you had to know Vegas was looking for a goalie prospect. Just poor roster management by the Bruins.
  15. Ehh... doesn't sound like Tanev is going to be coming out of the lineup any time soon. If Copp plays, we're more likely to see Petan or Dano take a seat.
  16. Yeah it's actually pretty incredible that the Argos went from being a total gongshow and not having a GM at the opening of CFL free agency to being the top team in the East (as weak as that division may be).
  17. Yes 2008 was the only year his yards per carry had fallen below 5.0. No question his production had dropped off but there were lots of problems with that 2008 team that may have played a role in that as well.
  18. I recommend a home Matt Nichols jersey
  19. Maybe that was all the kept him sane and if he worked out all the time he would have hated it and retired early. Who knows? You can't just change the past.
  20. Both incredible running backs for different reasons. I have a hard time choosing, but I'd have to go with Roberts.
  21. The Bombers get awards when they earn them. Medlock just won MOSTP last season. In 2012 Chris Matthews won Most Outstanding Rookie. Jovon Johnson won the MODP in 2011. It's less about respect and more about just not having the best players on a consistent basis. We haven't had the Most Outstanding Lineman since 2001 but I think we get it this year with either Stanley Bryant or Travis Bond.
  22. Agreed. Bryant is incredibly consistent... he would get my vote.
  23. I was recently watching some old clips of Vince McMahon when he was an announcer. God he was good at that. I'd hope the biopic will include a lot of the early days and not just Attitude era Vince.... as great as that was.
  24. Haha that would be perfect.
  25. I'd take our defence over Sask and BC any day
