I don't see how it proves anything either way. A win over Ottawa doesn't make the Bombers contenders and a loss doesn't mean they are pretenders. It's just another game against a decent team, on the road.

The ZA pizza in cityplace has their system moving pretty good. Big lineup there at lunch every day but the wait time is reasonable. Another good hidden gem is "Back at the Ranch" in Oakbank. The crust is kinda weird, like a pie crust, but it is very good pizza.

He has a habit of doing just that.

Pizza & Pasta Della Piazza. It's a hard name to remember, but the pizza is unforgettable! Love it. I'm surprised the thread has gone this far without mentioning Gondola. So good.

It wasn't a conscious decision but I realized have completely stopped consuming the traditional local media for sports coverage. It just adds nothing beyond what you can get from the team's social media and website. I can watch full press conferences rather than reading 400 words based around 2 or 3 quotes. I can watch highlights and game recaps on demand. I liked to read Kirk Penton's work but once he left the Sun, there was really nothing worth reading anymore.

Home opener this season would have been a sellout at Canad Inns so it's a tough comparison.

I watch PPV's and that's pretty much my entire usage. Very occasionally I will watch something from the archive or change the channel to WWE if there is literally nothing else on. I don't mind catching random matches from old PPVs sometimes.

Honestly I considered dropping the Network after Mania but ended up keeping it. I can see why people would want to. The best time for WWE is January-April. The rest of the year.... especially right now... can get pretty tedious. Battlegrounds was the low point of the year and I'm never really all that impressed with Summerslam.

Bombers @ Lions: Game Day Thread (07/21/17)

Yes... there's something else going on. It's not just identification of talent. Jonathan Jennings was in Rider camp before he was ever a Lion and by all accounts looked pretty pedestrian. Then Wally brings him in for a look, he earns the #3 job, and as a result of injuries to Lulay and John Beck, is suddenly the starter in his rookie year and lighting it up. Why? -
I think it would be a fair point if you did it for everyone.... eliminated the best and worst return for each. For example if you take away Lankford's TD return, his average goes down to 23.4. Now Martese Jackson's average of 26.1 looks much better. But if you take away Jackson's best return, his average goes down to 21.3. So Lankford is still better than Jackson. The issue arises when you massage the stats for one player but not for the others, IMO.

Where's the sense of humour on the serial shitposter?

He left us. Posts over at riderfans now sometimes.

Are they? Are you eliminating all the outliers from the "pack" too? I know you must be because that would be only fair, right?
-
Also worth noting that the Montreal OL is seemingly giving Durant more time than anyone in the league... he has only been sacked 3 times in 5 games, incredibly.

It's all they could really do. Only way Helle does a long-term deal would be for $4M+ and there is no way the team is doing that yet. Helle and his agent likely believe he is a better goalie than 2.25M and will be able to show it so they take the one-year deal. Interesting thing is if Helle only plays 30 or less games but has nice numbers where do they go next year?

But that's a good thing. That's the point of running it. It gives the Als something else to watch for and ideally opens things up for Harris and the passing game. The package includes a fake hand-off to Harris so you can run out of that package and hand it off to Harris or Dressler or fake to both, pull it and pass downfield or run the QB draw. Sure it fails sometimes but so does every play. It's been a nice addition to the offence.
-
I don't know why everyone hates on the Dressler rush plays. I think they've been awesome. They've certainly been effective. Nobody else in the CFL runs anything like that and does it so well.

Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)

Jones isn't wrong. But basically what he is saying, is that his offence doesn't do the same because he has too much respect for the game. No, Chris, you aren't doing it because you didn't think of it first. I think teams have the responsibility to push the boundaries of the rules, and if it's a problem, then they can change the rules. You can't rely on teams to play within the "spirit" of the rules out of sportsmanship. This is pro football. -
I honestly don't think that's so bad by Hebert. Kinda funny.
-
Actually Montreal's seven starting Canadians look pretty good! I'd put them on par with our own, maybe a little better actually.

I can understand the issue in regards to people who played before and are now suffering health problems. They legitimately didn't know. But people know now. You can't avoid hearing about the link between brain injuries and football/other sports. Let's put our cards on the table. This is football, this is how it's played, and it's a dangerous game. You can, and almost certainly will, suffer serious injuries to your brain and body. And that's okay, because you know it and you make the choice to play. Just because something is dangerous doesn't mean it should be outlawed or changed. Danger is okay when people know the risks. They didn't know the risks before, but they do now. Participate at your own discretion.
