  1. Seems like a pretty open-ended guarantee.
  2. Good 40-50 point guy that would be an instant improvement on our 3rd line and could move up to the top six in case of injuries. My faith in our non-top-six wingers to move up the lineup is essentially nil.
  3. I know Dreger said we're looking for a center but I don't think that's a deal-breaker... if the best player available is primarily a winger I don't see why we wouldn't go for it. Honestly I'd love to see Thomas Vanek here on a one or two year deal.
  4. Gotta think it's Nashville or nowhere for Mike Fisher.
  5. Yes. I have no doubt that the media will also see it your way and pin the blame on Ambrosie if things don't improve in Toronto. But I think things will improve league-wide so we may not ever cross that bridge.
  6. No he will not be involved in the planning and implementation. That goes directly against what his job is. He serves the league, not individual teams. Is he going to work with 9 marketing departments to help them increase attendance? No, he's not. Toronto isn't the only team with lagging attendance. His job is to run league affairs. A healthier league leads to healthier franchises. You have it backwards.
  7. The commissioner will not fix the problems in Toronto.
  8. A couple years ago the CFL established a rule that if you failed a drug test pre-draft then you forfeit your eligibility until the next season. Has nothing to do with the number of games in the NFL or anything else. Like Jacquie said, there is a deadline. And the reason they aren't lumped into one is because then you could potentially have one player waiting a month+ for no reason when they are ready to play now (because you would have to wait until the deadline to do the draft regardless of whether other players are available). Anyways I wouldn't use anything higher than a 5th round pick on this guy. Good athlete but likely destined to be a career special teamer. "Lasted five seasons".... Fails to mention that Konrad died of a brain aneurysm last year...
  9. Yes but its not on the commissioner to fix attendance in specific markets. He can support the Argos but they need to solve this problem themselves. It's no more the commissioner's responsibility than the poor attendance in BC is.
  10. Expecting BC to win in a close game.
  11. Not surprising. He will get a 2 year deal between 2 and 3 million per season.
  12. Yeah and overanalyzing every tiny detail of the guy's day is just as bad. What exactly do you think happened in that video that has you so concerned? He's blind and can't see the limo?
  13. Then would we even exist?
  14. Trouba will never be captain here or anywhere. Yes, I'd like to keep Little in the fold. We do not have anyone in development right now who will be ready to take on the 2C role by the end of Little's deal. It does no good to pay two wingers 8M+ and have no depth down the middle.
  15. You absolutely do not have to have an A before being a captain, and having an A is no guarantee you will ever be captain.
  16. Scheifele's contract is looking like one of the best bargains in the league. Because he signed before he really broke out this year. We may not have that luxury with others.
  17. @bb1 FYI this seems to work again. May have just been a temporary glitch on their site.
  18. Impossible to say right now, this next season will reveal more. But I'd expect that 8 years at 10M/year is not out of the question if he is looking like a 40 goal/80 point kind of guy. Ehlers, Lowry, Trouba, Morrissey and Armia are all going to be RFAs after this season. And Laine the year after that. Lots of money to be paid out. The seven-year rebuild is going to start looking pretty hollow if we can't afford to keep the guys we've developed.
  19. The unpleasant truths guy should take the hint and start a more profitable business.
  20. Covfefe, ketchup on steak, two scoops of ice cream. More liberals looking for something where there is nothing.
  21. Definitely more reasonable than the 13.25M that was originally being tossed around. It's obviously a high salary but he is the best player in the league and should be paid as such.
  22. People are happy to write off our offensive output because it was Sask, so yeah that seems fair.
  23. No, no.... news is more like milk. http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-bundesbank-gold-idUKKBN15O192
  24. PM Trudeau is more interested in how the outside world views him than he is in the well-being of Canadian citizens. He's made this abundantly clear.
