Yeah, I think most people would agree. It's not a surprise to see Shaun King attempting to blow this out of proportion. I believe that the use of violence by Islamic extremists and domestic terrorists like white supremacist groups and antifa to intimidate people is a much greater and more imminent threat to our society. Rational discourse never killed anybody.

Trump will almost assuredly be out of power by the time these spending increases begin to take effect. And I'm not sure why Canada should be expected to fill any void in NATO vacated by the U.S. Are the other allies stepping up their spending as well?

I see no problem with allowing people to share their opinion, even if it is bigoted and ridiculous. I trust that most people can see this and judge for themselves whether it is reasonable or not. I actually think we want these ideas to get into the mainstream so they can be considered and summarily dismissed by the population.

Seems impractical. It made some sense during WW2 because you could release the Japanese when the war was over. But at what point would you release Muslims? When terrorism stops? Just a silly suggestion by the furthest right wing nuts really.

Media is changing. Many people I know have cut their cable and subscribe only to the sports they want (NHL gamecenter, etc) or they use a streaming service like Kodi. And why not? Leagues are going to have to be creative and find new sources of revenue because this trend isn't going to reverse.

Radford is Canadian so it is national for national. Riders are planning on starting a Canadian safety but they don't have any good players there so that may explain it. And apparently 3 years in and Vonk was still getting his ass kicked in training camp every day.

Sounded like Kohlert was having trouble hanging onto the ball last night in Calgary's pre-season game. They've got a few good Canadian receivers over there (Parker, Brescacin, Durant) so it wouldn't surprise me to see him out of a job when the season arrives. It's too bad, he was so good for awhile here.

Pretty sure he was never actually on the active roster. He got cut after training camp in 2015 and went back to school. Then he got added to our PR in September 2016, came back for camp this year, and now he's gone.

So long? He was draft eligible this year. I'd say he found his way up here pretty quick.

Bombers picked up 6'3", 230 lbs receiver Dan Williams out of Jackson State. He signed with the Raiders shortly after this year's draft but was released. Bombers also released Canadian 2015 sixth round pick Justin Warden. EDIT: OK never mind this is in the Around the League discussion thread.

That field level view isn't helping. I had a hard time seeing what was going on and which players were in which spots. But that doesn't excuse the first week at IGF.

With 4 DIs I think having a great kicker is possibly the best use of a DI spot. We saw first hand the impact that Medlock had. Could an additional backup receiver or linebacker have even remotely close to the same impact on the team? Even with Medlock you have room for 3 other guys which could be a DB/returner, WR/returner, and additional DL for rotating in. It would be nice to get a guy like Flanders on the roster but is it worth it for 3-5 carries per game?
