  1. They also lost their Hall of Fame QB. Though he wasn't good enough to play for the Bombers from 2014 right up until he won the Grey Cup in 2016 so maybe that won't make a difference.
  2. Where I grew up, if a ***** wanna play with the big boys, she gonna get knocked out like the big boys. Plain and simple. Now that's equality.
  3. The Ontario gov't is a disaster. I'm glad it's them trying out the basic minimum income because they will almost certainly botch it spectacularly and all us rational capitalists can point at their failed example, ensuring we never get this socialist trash here.
  4. It's not ridiculous unless you believe that EVERY player on the Bombers actually needed to be cut from the team. If we're talking about the Redblacks building around 6-8 players from the expansion draft, I'm sure you could find 6-8 players on the Bombers that were worth keeping in town. And the point is that the Bombers GM could have cut whoever he wanted, and signed whoever he wanted. CFL teams are not restricted by contracts at all... all the power rests with the team's management. There is no such thing as a CFL GM being handcuffed by a bad roster.
  5. Bennett was never poached... that's a bid of a mistaken view of what happened. Either we didn't want him, or he didn't want to be here. It's no different than if he had gone to free agency in February. It just happened at a different time.
  6. I chalk that up as a win for me, under the total annihilation column. Back to high school debate club with you, you can't roll with the big dogs online.
  7. That would be my guess. He wouldn't be the first to play with no ACL, but no MCL would be problematic. My guess would be a partial tear and a lot of painkillers and anti-inflammatory meds.
  8. Also your numbers are off, unless I'm missing something. I see Deane, Hopkins, and Evans as starters and Marshall, Albright, and Lavoie as backups/special teams. Tuesday morning and you're already in the sauce?
  9. OK you're right, if only the Bombers could have had those 8 players we would have won the Grey Cup. LOL. Get real. The Bombers weren't in any worse of a position than Ottawa was. Desjardins just made it work. Give credit where it's due.
  10. We could have signed Burris, that was all about money. We also could have drafted Pruneau as we drafted prior to #5, but we chose Goossen (which was a fine choice). And like I said, very few of those Canadians from the expansion draft were still with Ott when they won, so.... not seeing the relevance.
  11. OK... how many players from the expansion draft were still with the Redblacks when they won the Cup? One, two? I don't see the relevance.
  12. Rush has a better shot at making the team at FB. Our Canadian linebacker corps is pretty crowded: Garrett Waggoner, Sam Hurl, Thomas Miles, Akeem Whonder, Jesse Briggs, Shayne Gauthier, Frank Renaud
  13. I don't see how that's correct. Contracts aren't guaranteed, if the Bombers wanted to cut everyone and start from scratch then there was nothing preventing them from doing so.
  14. Bombers website: Carr spent two seasons at the helm for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas after transferring from Fresno State. Over those two years, he played in 23 games and threw for 4,995 yards and 52 scores. He also added six scores along the ground. As a senior, he connected on 64% of his passes and averaged just over 225 yards per game. He finished his college career ranking second all-time in school history for passing while throwing 31 touchdowns to just eight interceptions as a senior in 2016. 15. In my opinion Laine fell far out of it and I'd be hesitant to even put him in the top 3. Matthews and Matt Murray are the clear top 2 and Werenski/Laine would be an interesting conversation about who is number 3. Mid season I would have put Laine number one but he ran out of gas.
  16. If Babcock was coaching Laine he wouldn't have been in the top six all year. Good bad you decide.
  17. Montreal... failed by the coach they hired... twice. I bet there are a lot of pissy fans in Montreal right now.
  18. How did spuds know this article was coming? Or did he know? Does spuds exist? Does Cristo exist? What is the meaning of life? These are the questions
  19. I had no idea they were that old. I would have guessed 28-30. huh.
  20. Ahmed Johnson! Speaking of guys who injure people, lol. The Pearl River Plunge!
  21. I have a hard time believing that. But another poor showing in the playoffs next year may result in them moving on from Quenneville. Chicago's core is still very strong - Kane, Toews, Keith, Seabrook, and Crawford are all in their prime. It's just a matter of surrounding them with the right pieces. The challenge is that the amount of money allocated to those five players means that almost everyone else on the roster has to be making a million or less.
  22. I like the Oilers' style but I get this sneaking suspicion that we are entering an era where the Jets and Oilers start meeting in the playoffs all the time and it will be Scheifele vs McDavid and something just seems so familiar about that scenario and I don't like where it's going.
  23. OK not soft just always injured and utilizes a soft moveset.
  24. Oh damn I didn't watch any rassling last week, I missed it. Not too surprised though, since Balor is so soft.
