Ya well you also said Nichols was worse than Crompton so who knows right?

Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Did I say that? I said "if" he looks like our second best Canadian receiver in camp. I'm willing to give the guy a chance to prove he belongs in his third year. He's here to play receiver. I couldn't care less if he plays special teams.

So if he looks good enough to be our #2 Canadian receiver but doesn't play specials we should cut him?

I don't see why every backup player should have to play special teams. It's not like the Bombers are hurting for Canadians capable of playing special teams... half the roster can do it and then you're probably looking at a few Americans who will be on ST as well because they're just that damn good at it. As a backup receiver I don't see the problem with being just that - a backup receiver. Sometimes you gotta hold on to a guy and develop him for the position he plays rather than just drafting the guy who will be best at chasing down kicks.

Oh **** I was thinking they'd win if they played worse! You really opened my eyes

Writing off the Pens so soon? I'd bet dollars to donuts they win tonight.

Random Death Notice 2017
Prescription pills can be helpful but can also be harmful. Apparently he was on Adavan and suicidal thoughts are one of the side effects. It is tragic. People often try to think of suicide in logical terms like it's something that someone has to be planning forever but really all it takes is one really bad night alone in your head. It is so sad.

Speller is a good prospect. Went undrafted this year... he's played every spot on the line & tight end. Probably a centre/guard in the CFL. Played on the same line as Zach Intzandt who was a Bomber pick last year and will be back in camp this year.

Feels like there should be a wager on this. Who is man enough to bet against TUP?

Pro athletes gamble on themselves all the time. You don't get to that level without having an incredible level of self-confidence. Unless he absolutely bombs (unlikely, and you know he's not even considering that possibility) or gets a career-ending injury (very rare), he's going to end up with a long term deal. It's really not that much of a gamble to be honest.

Oh are we talking about him signing this offseason? Lol yeah there is no chance that happens. Maybe he signs when his current deal is up but certainly not before then.

Who cares? He's a backup now

Could be. I'm sure that won't be a problem this time around.

The rumours and hearsay are the smoke. Official statements from players and agents mean very little to me. The only fact we really know is that Trouba was unwilling to sign long term. Maybe that has changed, maybe not. I'm hoping he will but I'm not arrogant enough to believe I know what he is going to do.

Red zone
Lapo tends to get more conservative the closer the offence gets to the end zone. Most of our touchdowns come from big plays outside the red zone that either end up in the end zone or at the one yard line where we can just punch it in. Or Andrew Harris runs it in through sheer force of will. I'd like to see us be a little more aggressive in the red zone but with that comes increased chance for turnovers.

I don't think the worst but I also believe that where there is smoke there is usually fire. Now that doesn't mean Trouba won't sign but I do think that if he did have a problem with Winnipeg, it hasn't just disappeared and we'll be hearing about it again.

Rule? There are no rules in fandom, only opinions. Winnipeg is a unique case because we didn't have a team for 15 years. If you were 10 or younger when the Jets left, you probably didn't have much of a connection to them. So those people find a team they like in their teenage years or early 20s and there you go. That's what I did. But as soon as the Jets came back I was all-in.

That's funny because I was thinking how great it is that we limit it to one now.

WHC 2017
Finland has been the most unpredictable international team at every level over the last few years. One game they will look like they should be getting relegated and the next they're knocking out a favorite. I don't know what it is.

Yeah I pretty much agree with this. I see a Kane situation unfolding but with less vitriol... Trouba signs long-term but is eventually traded.

Dave Lozo is a joke and it doesn't surprise me that he's writing for Vice. I am surprised that Vice's sports department actually writes about sports sometimes and not just women's rights and player safety.

Really? I'm more bothered by the people who get a local team and continue to cheer for someone else. Like now that the Jets are back and some people still identify as Leafs/Habs/Flyers fans around Winnipeg.
