This isn't the first time they've done something like that. I honestly think the "Put something out there then remove it to make it seem like it was an accident" to fuel rumors is one of their strategies.

I don't know I was just responding to JBR, quit busting my balls bro

I think Edwards/Dunk throw a couple pieces of info at Hodge every now and then... I don't think they would let him publish something untrue.

I miss Michael Bishop.

How is it comparing apples-to-apples to compare a goalie with 1 game played to a goalie with 30+ games played and line up their "best games" against each other? That's total nonsense. It's also incorrect that Pavelec's sv % (.909) was worse than Hellebuyck's (.907). I don't disagree with your overall points but there's no reason to distort the facts to make those points.

I thought I saw that he is under contract to NJPW for another year. EDIT: Still no word on his future plans, but here’s a rumor killer on Kenny Omega. While there was never much chance he’d be in San Antonio seeing as his New Japan contract is in force through Jan. 31, Omega is scheduled for an appearance in Chile during Royal Rumble weekend, making it almost logistically impossible for him to be there.

Disagree. He has one of the strongest pure "characters" in the WWE. Almost everyone else is "just a wrestler". Very few guys can maintain a real character like Bray, or like Rusev as the Bulgarian Brute. His character is so strong that he doesn't need any titles to be relevant. Even when they put the tag titles on him, it was like it didn't even matter to him. That's why he's so great.

Game 47 : Jets @ Sharks - West Coast Story
Atomic replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
4M/year... So yes, a very good bargain. Plus Subban at 9M, two guys at 2.5 and 3.75 and the rest on entry-level deals. -
The term is meaningless apart from its technical definition (if a player is not a rookie they are a vet) so I'm not sure what your goal is in determining who is a vet and who isn't.
-
Pavelec was exactly what he's always been. Let in a couple softies, make an unbelievable save, and end up letting in 2-4 goals. Pretty familiar story. On the other hand you have Helle/Hutch who will either be unbeatable or let in 4 in 8 shots (something we've seen more this year than in 5 years of Pavelec). Do you want the rollercoaster ride or the consistently mediocre? I'm not sure either option is so great.

Well tell us the rest of the story then

Game 47 : Jets @ Sharks - West Coast Story
Atomic replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'm not a Toby-hater as much as most people but he is quite overpaid no matter which way you spin it. But I am surprised the Jets D salary is the HIGHEST.... -
I guess it depends on the job. I've never worked at a company of that size, but then, I'm a developer not a sysadmin scrub. Big pay days are not hard to come by in Winnipeg if you work at a company that is small enough to not have corporate-defined pay structures, but big enough that they don't pay bottom-of-the-barrel wages. But you aren't going to find those jobs on a job board, gotta be well-connected to find them.
-
Not so sure about that one... I doubt they're very good (how would you know if they are?), and most IT jobs in the private sector are the furthest thing from cutthroat and demanding.... source: I've spent my career in IT...

Fans always seem to be in favour of playing the young players, even if they're not the best. Kinda like the backup QB is always the most popular... just haven't seen them enough to know their flaws. Even on a team like the Jets who are close to the youngest in the league, the fans want to go younger. Look at this thread, it's people denying the truth that's right in front of them... the Jets play more young players than anyone.

Certainly there were some good late picks in that draft but the first couple rounds were pretty barren, unless you count guys who are currently in the NFL as good picks.
-
Interesting research... shows how tough it is to find a great Canadian receiver in this era. As for the 2013 draft... the Bombers may have acted pleased but most observers thought they totally blew it, even back then. Taking Mulumba was misguided at best, Robertson and Fitzgerald were blown picks, DiCroce had potential but was a known bandaid.
-
Yeah that definitely happened. Everyone thought that would be the game that our DLine would go off and then Montreal shut them down completely.
-
Shocking!! Could definitely see Strowman winning it... I like how they've built him up since the brand split. Angle appearing would be awesome, winning the Rumble would be unbelievable.
-
Woah I totally disagree. I think Bray Wyatt is one of the best characters in WWE right now and I know I'm not alone in that.
-
I may have predicted Angle before they announced him for the Hall of Fame but now I don't think he will be wrestling in WWE again. Seems like the HoF induction is generally the end of the road. Correct me if I'm wrong on that but I can't recall anyone wrestling post-induction. Ric Flair maybe? My prediction for Rumble winner is the Undertaker because I don't think his body can take being tossed over the ropes!

There are thousands of fans on the waiting list for season tickets. Attendance will not be an issue for a long, long time. And we have possibly the best ownership group in Canada. I also don't think Chipman will tolerate much more losing from Chevy. He doesn't need empty seats to take action. If we miss the playoffs this year and the next, Chevy is gone.
-
20 goals? Is that the standard for a #1 goalie now? I'm not talking about releasing the guy but I just don't see him developing into a legitimate #1, ever. Remember, free agency and trades are an option for improving in goal. Chevy has made it seem like it has to be Pavelec or drafted prospects, but it doesn't have to be that way. There are other options. How many goalies have switched teams and found success since 2011? And we have stubbornly stuck with Pavelec and hoped for a 5th round pick to be the savior. I still have hope for Comrie but like you said, he's not ready yet so why not explore other options? Perhaps not now but in the off-season.

Smackdown was great last night! Loved the Nikki Bella vs Nattie segment. Seeing The Miz get involved in the WWE championship picture is... awesooooome! Last but not least it looks like Randy Orton is ready to consummate his plan to destroy the Wyatt Family from the inside. I expect fireworks at the Royal Rumble between the Wyatt Family. Speaking of the Rumble, it's been awhile since we've seen such a star-studded lineup. 18 entrants confirmed so far and they're all legit stars. Who will win? I honestly have no clue!
