I know, that's kinda what I mean. It definitely wasn't *only* a blade. I just think maybe there was a small blade and then Lesnar bashed it a couple times to open it up.
-
That just seems so unlikely to me, with all the issues surrounding concussions and head injuries, that you would order a wrestler to take a couple stiff elbows to the head unprotected. Blading first would make it so Lesnar didn't have to hit as hard.
-
My initial thought was that Orton bladed and then Lesnar used his elbow to open up the gash. To me it looked like Lesnar was aiming for a specific spot with his elbow, hit once, it didn't work, so he struck again. I believe blading first would allow more control over the size of the cut rather than just ordering Lesnar to split Orton's head with his elbow alone. Does that make sense to you, TUP? Is that how it may have went down?

James Franklin is probably the most coveted young QB in the league right now, there could be interest in him from both Montreal and Saskatchewan, and even Winnipeg if the season goes awry... or maybe Winnipeg will be interested regardless. I could see him getting moved in a deal similar to what Edmonton paid to get Mike Reilly.

I'd be pretty shocked if McMuffin is a full time starter. He might get some reps but I don't see how they can have him out there on every snap. I can see him on kickoff returns and part-time on offence.
-
I'd be surprised if it's not Hellebuyck but I was surprised when they sent him back down last year so I don't know...

I wouldn't put it past Chris Jones to get rid of Durant this off-season.

Saw a tweet that said Johnny Adams is in for Frederick

Odds and Sods - Game 8 - Bombers at Argos
Atomic replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Keep in mind we might lose Chungh this off-season. Our Canadian depth on the OL is still razor thin. I'd keep Neufeld around at least until after free agency and the draft so we know what we have to work with. Couture doesn't seem like he'll be ready to start next year and hopefully we don't have a top 3 draft pick... -
Great post MyDogHasScheifeles

Balderdash! If 23 goals counts as 25-30, then 23 years old is pretty much 26, right?
-
So... 1 last year and 4 the year before, in the entire league. Ya, that qualifies as rare, actually... never mind the fact that most of your 'rookies' are 22-26 years old... which Laine and Connor aren't.

Maybe you aren't, but there have been several posts lately like this one:

If you don't want to discuss it you don't have to. No need to shout down those who do want to.

Gotta love these poll results so far. 26-0 for both Hamilton over Sask, and Ottawa over Montreal. Not often you see unanimous results.
-
Lol. Yes, every player is going to improve, all the rookies will be successful, and the PP is going to be awesome. Unfortunately reality gets in the way.

How can you judge a team's performance without considering their opponents?

I really think that TBURGESS is taking a lot of unnecessary flak here. The question was "Is it real?" To me, answering that question requires going beyond "a win is a win." It is undeniable that the team is playing better, that's obvious from the 3 game winning streak. But where do the Bombers stack up against the contenders like BC, Ottawa and Calgary? And to a lesser extent Hamilton and Toronto with Collaros and Ray, respectively. To answer that, you have to take a deeper dive into each game which includes noting the facts that TBURGESS is talking about. It's also similar to the people saying that all the replacements are playing better than the starters. Well, let's see CJ Roberts, Travis Bond, Manase Foketi and Taylor Loffler going up against Calgary, BC and Ottawa before we make any grand proclamations, maybe?
-
We've also lost Ladd's 20-25 goals. So Laine is expected to replace 40-45 goals between Ladd and Stafford's absence? Not high expectations at all... or wait, are we expecting Armia to pot 20+ as well? Now that's a laugh and a half.

Around The League Regular Season Discussion
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Constantly injured... not sure he would provide much value to us, depending on salary expectations... certainly he's not an upgrade on Shologan or Thomas. -
I am expecting to split both the home-and-away series with BC and Ottawa. Playing in Calgary is a write-off and we should win at home against Edmonton. 3-3 in the last six seems more likely to me. I'm also expecting 2-2 over the next four, for a 9-9 finish. This really does look like a .500 team at this point.

The Riders aren't firing Chris Jones any time soon, lol let's get real here... I think people are making this into a bigger deal than it really is. Almost feels like fans outside of Saskatchewan want Jones to be fired because they're nervous that he will turn things around in Sask given enough time. Let's be honest, Jones and Murphy have had no problem finding and coaching up talent in any of their other stops in the league, they didn't just forget how to do their jobs when Sask hired them.
-
The reasonable move, if BLM was actually concerned about the Riders' roster management, would be to contact the league, at which point they would have informed him there was an ongoing investigation.

Odds and Sods - Game 8 - Bombers at Argos

I'm sure Keeping can play guard and we could move a guard (Bond) out to tackle. The biggest requirement IMO is the ability to play Centre because if Goossen goes down, I'm not sure any of our current starters have taken many, if any, reps at centre. So to me, the question is whether Keeping is an upgrade on Couture or not at this point in their respective careers. I'd also suggest that Neufeld is still our second best option at RT after Hardrick, although I'm interested to see how Foketi progresses. -
Getting rid of a GM after anything less than 3 years would be insane, barring some sort of massive failure ala Kelly or Reinebold.
