  1. I've never seen a pro football player put as little effort in as I saw from Martin on one play in Montreal's last game. He was either tired to the point of total exhaustion or couldn't be bothered to do more than go through the motions. Either way, not a great sign... Edit: I guess this was already mentioned on the previous page by Bigblue204. Oh well. Now I've said it, so you KNOW it's true.
  2. Realistically if a team is a playoff contender, they are a Grey Cup contender. It's the CFL, it only takes one or two wins to make it to the big game once you get in.
  3. Hecht isn't great but the Riders desperately need Canadian DBs.
  4. It's a stupid contest anyways!!!
  5. They're all low percentage plays in terms of getting a first down. Its 2nd and 20. The short game is favored because the chance of turning the ball over is much lower, it helps in the field position battle and the chance is still there for the player to make a couple guys miss and gain the first down.
  6. Riders are done, chalk up another loss
  7. What do you mean? Looks to me like Harris is having one of the best years of his career.
  8. The CFL says he is at 14 straight field goals. Our special teams as a whole have been very good.
  9. I'm getting so sick of winning all the time
  10. Loved that o-line. Bond was taking penalties but god dam it is refreshing to see an OL that plays angry and pushes people around. Happy honker for Manase Foketi for his first start at right tackle in his life and looking pretty damn good!
  11. IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!!!
  12. Sounds reasonable and that makes sense to me. But call me Han Solo, cuz I've got a bad feeling about this...
  13. Gameday inactives are not listed in the CFL transactions. For example the first entry is Jerald Brown and Kevin Bradfield moving from the PR to the active roster. Nothing to do with gameday inactives.
  14. He wasn't drafted though, he was a UDFA.
  15. That's speculation not backed up by facts or any recent history. No one carries more than 8 on the roster, no one dresses more than 6. In fact you may find that several OL are on the injured lists but are not injured at all... they're only there because it doesn't make sense to carry them on the roster.
  16. Not sure what that has to do with anything. We're talking about dressing six vs. seven OL, not how many OL can be crammed on the IR.
  17. And what stats will a backup OL record? None, of course. Because the impact of an OL isn't measured in stats. Same as the impact of a special teams player. Not necessarily there only to provide tackles.
  18. For the third time: no one said they were. Only one team has 8 OL on the roster. The rest have 6 or 7, meaning one or zero OL scratched. Please read posts before responding or this debate will go nowhere.
  19. "Every team must use the 2man for OL alone". No. Only one team has 8 on their roster, as you said. The rest have 7, or in our case 6. So the inactive holds one or zero OL. "Those spots go to guys who are questionable." Sometimes, but not always, nor even the majority of the time. For example Travis Bond was healthy and inactive for the first five weeks. "Your also saying no what we are doing is the norm, but once keeping is healthy we wont be doing it. If what we are doing is the norm why would we change that?" You're talking about two different things. Dressing six is the norm. Having six on the roster is not the norm. When Keeping is healthy, we will have seven on the roster, and continue to dress six.
  20. On the gameday roster, yes it certainly is the norm. Overall? No... but you will see 7 on the active roster as soon as Keeping is healthy again. Regardless, having 7 on the active roster does nothing to help you on gameday if you only dress six (which every team does).
  21. True but what do you do? Take out K. Knox for an American backup OL who in 95% of games will never see a snap? Maybe you take out a Canadian backup like Addison Richards for an additional Canadian OL but unfortunately we don't even have an extra one on the roster/practice roster. I agree it's risky but the small roster sizes make it almost necessary. Most other teams do the same.
  22. Not true, we have never dressed an import backup OL this season and Couture has been our only Canadian backup OL all year.
