I haven't seen anyone post a training camp depth chart - official or unofficial. So here is my best shot at it. EDIT: Changed as per DT corrections -

Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yeah that sounds right. I also understand that there are now only 2 designated import spots. So we could do something like: 8th "national" starter: Brandon Alexander 2 nationalized Americans: Janarion Grant, Alden Darby 2 designated imports: Sergio Castillo, and any other American player -

The number of national starters has increased to eight but one of them can be a nationalized American, who has played five years in the CFL or three years with the same team. One Canadian starter on each side of the ball can be replaced for up to 49 percent of snaps. The twist is that the two teams who play "true nationals" on the most snaps this season get an extra second round pick in the 2024 draft. Which spots do we have a nationalized American available? Most of the players we have that qualify as nationalized Americans are already starters. These spots might end up being used for American veterans who are nearing the end of their career. For example, starting Shayne Gauthier and Adam Bighill in a platoon. It could also be used for a guy like Janarion Grant, as already mentioned... Rotating in the receiving corps. Could we see a young American receiver win a starting job over Rasheed Bailey for example? This would let Bailey rotate in as a nationalized American. We might even see some teams carry a veteran American OL that rotates in at Guard for example, improving the line for half the snaps. Not that an American is necessarily better than a Canadian but some teams may have that situation available. -
There is a roster freeze from Dec 19 to 27. Jets will have a chance to play a few games and see how they perform. Hard to imagine many teams wanting to trade away a top-six quality skilled forward at this point in the season. Most teams are either still in the fight or they are so bad they don't have anyone worth trading for. Is Patrick Kane or Jonathon Toews a realistic possibility? I have a hard time seeing it happen.

This game is absolutely terrible. I was hoping we would leave horrid quarterbacking in 2021.

This was inevitable. You can't tell a segment of society that they can't have the same privileges as everyone else and expect them to just take it lying down. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. But this was always going to be the end result.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not worried but also don't think we can expect the same quality of team from last year.... that was the peak. We could get there again but that was one of the best CFL teams I have ever seen. It remains to be seen whether Oliveira or Augustine can fill the starting RB role. I like both players but starting at RB is a tough job and Harris is an all-time great. We can expect a drop in performance and some challenges throughout the season. Personally I believe the biggest loss will be Desjarlais - he is one of my favourite Bomber OL ever to watch. Our whole OL was spectacular but that left side was unbeatable. I'm confident Geoff Gray can be a starter but again I don't expect the same level of performance. I haven't seen anything to suggest that Stanley Bryant will start to show his age but it will come at some point. Maybe this year maybe not. Luckily pretty much the entire rest of the CFL is a mess. Continuity has been blown away completely. I think that even though we are seeing more changes in Winnipeg this year, we are STILL going to be the team that brings back the strongest core. We are still the Grey Cup favourite but less so than going into last season. -
2022 CFL Free Agency(Rumors/official signings)
Atomic replied to Nolby's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Is there any list available with the remaining free agents organized by position rather than former team? Even a google doc online somewhere? Hate the CFL site. -
I like the new play by play guy. He clearly loves the game. He says some goofy **** sometimes but that's okay.

2021 Blue Bombers Training Camp/Pre-Season Stuff
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'll be surprised if we don't bring in another kicker right before camp. I have no issue with Liegghio, his college career is certainly impressive, but at least for a little insurance it would be nice to have another camp leg. As for the backup quarterback position. I tend to agree with TBurg on this one. I don't even like Jennings but there's something to be said for having some experience of any kind. In the early 2010s we left ourselves with Brink, Elliott, and Goltz after Buck Pierce got injured and two of those guys couldn't even throw a football. -

For those who like visual aids (more of a position chart rather than depth chart, and should be read as such) -
Picard gets a 6/10 for me. By which I mean I enjoyed it but I definitely didn't love it. Storyline was okay but drifts too far from the original feel of the utopian society and the relatively moral federation. I understand it's a different time now and the old TNG style wouldn't have worked but they strayed a little too far for me and also seemed to suffer from trying to cram too much content into too short of a time period which resulted in poor character development and interactions. Overall though I still welcome the return of Picard and the others from the TNG-Voyager era. Hoping we get a stronger plot and appearances from a few more fan favourites (glad they restrained from cramming ALL old characters into season one) if and when the second season drops.

I loved the boneyard match but only in the context of the current situation. The empty arena just weirds me out so it was nice to see something a little different. Was texting jokes back and forth during the whole thing but I did like it. It was the most noteworthy part of the night for me. Goldberg... geez. Those matches gotta go.

Always hated the Ticats since 2009 and the boat incident. They always seemed to get the best of us. During our time in the East division I'd say they were our biggest rival. It feels good to beat them but I don't feel as much hate towards the Ticats now as I did in the Otis Floyd days. It's hard not to like Orlondo Steinauer. They'll be winning a Grey Cup soon enough.

Should have signed him for the last game, I'm sure he is in shape

I was 3 years old when the Bombers last won in 1990. There has been so much disappointment along the way but this is an incredible feeling.

1. Andrew Harris - Leader. Incredible. Man on a mission. 2. Defensive line - fantastic across the board. Impossible to choose just one. 3. Mike Jones - No better time to have the best game of your career. Love this guy. Fought all the way through this season from the practice roster to today. HH to Richie Hall for defying all the doubters and coaching the best damn defence in the league.
