  1. You are. He played 80 games with the Jets in his first year.
  2. Lowry was given a spot right out of training camp. Same with Copp. If there was no one else for those spots it's because we didn't sign anyone. In other words they were pencilled in before camp even started. Not a great idea, IMO. I don't necessarily disagree with bringing in Connor and Laine right off the hop but I'm very worried about 1. Ending up like Edmonton and 2. Alienating good veteran players like Wheeler by giving rookies spots they didn't earn and wasting the prime years of veterans' careers while young players "find their way." We already saw this with Ladd. He obviously didn't want to be part of the rebuild and it wouldn't be surprising to see other guys wanting out, too. I know the prevailing wisdom among the fanbase is younger = better and all prospects are better than our current players but in reality it doesn't work that way.
  3. There was Ehlers last year. I'd argue Lowry was gifted a top 9 spot without really earning it and I'm not sure what he's done to keep it. Copp, similar. Now we're looking at bringing in both Connor and Laine. I prefer the approach we took with Scheifele. Make the kid earn a spot.
  4. I find it very interesting that the overwhelming narrative when the Jets moved to Winnipeg was that the Thrashers had brought up players too quickly and ruined them (Kane, Burmi, Bogo). That doesn't seem to be a concern anymore as we rush to get as many 18-20 year olds in the lineup as possible...
  5. I don't actually think that trade is feasible I just wanted to throw it out there. Would be funny to trade him to the Riders and then have him announce his retirement though.
  6. One of my all-time favourites for sure. I don't think he was that critical of the Bombers after getting cut. Maybe I just don't remember correctly but did he ever say anything bad about the organization? Not that I can recall. And even if he did.... Burke/Mack was a total mess and any criticism would have been justified. Just the same as the majority of fans were critical of that 2013 joke of a season. Sounds like that injury really took a big toll on him. All the best in the future.
  7. Riders getting screwed pretty good. That's a fourth round pick!
  8. Trade him to the Riders for #1 overall
  9. CFL media reporting on CFL media
  10. I haven't had MTS since about 2013 so they may have improved but when I did use MTS, there were issues all the time with outages and service quality in general. I've never had any trouble at all with Shaw. The closest thing I had to an issue was when I got a PVR box from them. I was talking to customer service in BC I guess, and had everything all worked out. So I went to the Shaw office to pick up my box and they had no idea what I was talking about. Long story short they ended up giving me a PVR box absolutely free (yes I own it) because they were so hopelessly disorganized.
  11. I've found that Shaw's home services blow MTS out of the water, in terms of TV and Internet. Never used MTS for cellphone service. I was with Telus for years but eventually got fed up with their poor coverage in Manitoba so I switched to Rogers. Good service and no issues with billing or customer service but I've heard others have had nightmares. FYI Logan007 I still get Rogers email bills every month
  12. If we can win games like that, it's actually super awesome.
  13. There's no way we only start 7 NI's. It will be 8 or possibly 9 to begin the season. I know everyone is all horny to see Hurl and Bucknor lose their starting spots but it's not likely to happen.
  14. 4 consecutive 1st place finishes plus a 24-19 playoff record gets Boudreau's ass kicked out the door.
  15. No, Jeff has been at the Free Press for awhile now. He used to be with CBC. His stuff is pretty good. I think he is more of a hockey guy but this is Canada... So most people are.
  16. Couldn't agree more. It's tough to buy him as IC champion when he has lost so many matches recently but he's just so great in his promos. Maryse is fantastic as well.
  17. I love Ziggler in the ring. I still think the best match I've seen live over the last 3 WWE live events in Winnipeg was probably Ziggler vs The Miz. They work well together. And I've seen a lot of stars in that time who weren't nearly as entertaining. But I hate Ziggler on the mic. He's awful. I don't know if it's the sound of his voice or his attitude or what, but he makes an unlikeable face and a weak heel. And I bet that's what holds him back. Someone said he should be in the IC title picture. And I think he will be again. It's just not his time.
  18. Some guys are just career mid-card guys. Ziggler, The Miz, Ambrose, Ryback, Cody Rhodes... They have their moments in the WWE title picture but realistically they are mid card guys and always will be. And there is nothing wrong with that. Not everyone can be The Man.
  19. Definitely heard some talk that there are people out there who wouldn't take Matthews first overall but I'll be shocked, SHOCKED I say, if he isn't number one. And I know there is a shot at the top 3 but my heart tells me the Jets will pick 7th overall. Maybe we can get Chychrun or Tkachuk.
  20. I ******* love tacos
  21. Apparently Ric was on the mic at Smackdown tapings and told Natalya to kill herself. Seems a little harsh lol.
  22. I hope at least one of those top 6 OL slip down to 9/10.
  23. I don't get why people like American Alpha and the Revival so much. Both teams are boring and unlikeable. I don't see either one being on the main roster any time soon. I like Enzo and Cass. The Vaudevillains are a fine heel team and I expect they will be filling The Ascension role for awhile. NXT has actually been really weak lately. "No Way Jose"? Gimme a break.
  24. How do you determine which ones are poor?
  25. http://operations.nfl.com/updates/the-officials/nfl-and-cfl-announce-officiating-development-program/ Very interesting. I'm in favour of anything that gets refs more training and experience. NFL AND CFL ANNOUNCE OFFICIATING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM43 MINUTES AGO Beginning in 2016, the National Football League and the Canadian Football League have announced that they have formed the NFL-CFL Officiating Development Program. The program will send a group of NFL officials — primarily deep wing officials (side judges and field judges) — to work as part of CFL crews during preseason and regular-season games in June and July. The officials will return to the NFL before the 2016 season begins at the league’s annual officiating clinic in late July. CFL officials will join the NFL’s Officiating Development Program, which is designed to train top officials in all aspects of NFL officiating. The program includes attending NFL minicamps and training camps, officiating preseason games, studying position-specific film with veteran NFL officials, reviewing mechanics and analyzing rules differences between the NFL and other leagues, including the CFL and college football. Learn how NFL programs develop officials at every level. “Any time our newer officials can get more reps on the field, during practices or games, that will make them better officials,” said NFL Senior Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino. “The collaboration with the CFL will certainly benefit us as we prepare for the 2016 season and we look forward to welcoming our CFL officiating counterparts to our development program later this spring.” “This historic partnership gives officials in both leagues an opportunity to hone their craft and get better through shared development activities and more snaps at the pro level,” said CFL Senior Vice-President of Football Glen Johnson. “We’re excited that a group of our officials will actively participate in the NFL Development Program and now have a formal path forward to be considered as prospects in their league.”
