Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion
Atomic replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Without having any idea what Castillo can do??I'm sure he can kick converts Yep the most important part of the job for sure. Let's see if you're singing a different tune when he is 100% on converts and 60% on field goals??? -
Willy Returns: Throwing At Practice (9/16/15)
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We need to let his hit points replenish! After a long rest he should get them all back. Not sure what's taking so long. Can we set him up at the local inn? -
Halischuk is on a two-way deal.

Lawless: Chill Out, Let Miller & Co Do Their Jobs
Atomic replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't know, I don't like rewarding losing either, but the team under Mike O'Shea does appear to be growing and improving. If it's another 7-11 year, or 6-12, it's still a tough call for me. If Willy was healthy we would be at a better record than 4-7, and that's not really on Mike O'Shea, that falls on Walters for not providing good backup QB talent. If we finish 4-14 or 5-13, let MOS go. Any better and I keep him around. Remember Jim Barker went 9-9 then 6-12 then won the Grey Cup. Feels like O'Shea is in the same ballpark. -
If you recognize that everyone is biased then you should understand that the CBC is going to be biased as well, regardless of whether they are taxpayer funded or not. Just human nature.
-
Ya I have Xbox One which is what I bought NHL 15 for.
-
Well the CBC at least has a reason to be biased as they work directly for the government and there's no question that the NDP or Liberals will be kinder to them than the Conservatives have. Not that I think the CBC really deserves better treatment from the government, just that they will get it from the NDP or Liberals and they know that.
-
I usually get a game every few years. Since I got NHL 15 it will probably be a couple years until I buy a new one.
-
Your depth doesn't have to be rookies though. Halischuk and Fraser are two examples of veteran guys who might get pushed to the AHL by rookies. Sure, I understand that. I'm just very wary of going too young, too fast... And that's what I'm seeing right now. Not trying to be negative, it's just hard to ignore. I think our opening lineup will be: Ladd - Little - Stafford Perreault - Scheifele - Wheeler Burmi - Lowry - Ehlers Fraser - Copp - Thorburn With Hali and Peluso as extra forwards. Options for call-ups will be Petan, Cormier, Johnny Albert and Ryan Olsen. Not so bad but still seems a little scary to me. I just hope our prospects are as good as the hype train has made them out to be.
-
The problem isn't necessarily having 3 rookies in the starting lineup, it's what happens when there are some injuries. You bring up more rookies and suddenly 6 of your 12 forwards are rookies and you're getting pummelled every night.

Austin bumps Stala - pays $5,000 fine

Send it to your editor first -
God help us if 3 rookies make the starting lineup out of camp. This could be a rough year.
-
This is just such a dumb way to look at it. You don't just start cutting players out of spite. Injuries or not he's our best receiver and cutting him makes the team worse. The scouting staff has been incapable of bringing in a good receiver so far and who knows what's available in free agency. Can't cut Moore until we have a star receiver to replace him.

Henoc on his way to Hamilton & Toronto for visit
Atomic replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yeah it gets taxed harder here! -
I think he played all 18 games for BC in 2013 so he might just be on a run of bad luck the last season and a half.... I'm certainly not ready to write him off as injury prone this quickly. He could still play 14-15 games this season which is reasonable.
-
Just to be clear, we don't actually lose a draft pick in any case. It is a swap of draft picks. So say the Bombers have a higher pick in the 4th round than the Ticats in 2017, the Ticats can choose to swap picks with the Bombers. The round will be determined by the condition.
-
Sorry to disappoint you but if the Bombers beat the aforementioned teams and everything else remains equal, then the Blue will be in the playoffs.lol! First they have to beat those two bottom dwellers but that won't be enough. That is just two games. To make the playoffs they have to beat >.500 teams and so far each one they have played they have been crushed. Montreal and BC have shown they can beat >.500 teams so right now I have to give them the edge. Sorry. No need to be sorry. There is nothing in what I said that isn't true. Should I explain it to you? I'd like to hear it. Beating BC and Montreal only will put us at 6-12 and that's not going to do it. Unless this is some wordplay thing. Then forget it.

Pretty much sounds like every other country song ever.

Would someone just tell gbill his thread is fantastic so we can move on?
-
I'm not sure if that article is even worth worrying about, for a couple reasons. 1. Just because the NDP's supporters want something doesn't mean the NDP is going to do it. If I'm not mistaken, none of the signatories were actual NDP party members. Could be wrong, I didn't read that closely. 2. The type of sweeping changes discussed in the article would be difficult to accomplish with a majority government, but with a minority? Forget it... will never happen. And it will be a cold day in Hell before the NDP win a federal majority.

I think the Jets understand as well as anyone that Ehlers has accomplished everything he possibly could in junior. If he doesn't make the Jets, bet on him playing in Europe.
-
Only a playoff appearance should save MB's job and if that happens I'll be pretty thrilled. If he's able to right the ship and start getting positive results, why shouldn't he keep his job? Fan grudges?
-
The "Ehlers has to go to junior or the Jets" thing is overblown. He can also go play in Europe which would be fine... Not so different from the AHL really.
-
I think the combination of breaking the losing streak and having a capable QB in town will really help the guys relax and get back to business. 9-9 still seems like a stretch to me, but if they win this next game in Montreal and get on a roll, anything is possible.

He's on the practice roster and will be at practice tomorrow.
