Who cares how bad the media hurts his feelings. As the leader of the country, he shouldn't be allowed to hide from questions he doesn't want to answer. I don't care so much about not answering media questions, it's the muzzling of scientists that bothers me. That seems to be going too far. But again, one small part of the overall picture of Harper the PM.

Lol that's like quoting the Sun on a Trudeau article. NYT openly leans to the left. you might want to look into that a little bit. New York Times was the number one cheerleader of the invasion of iraq. They actually had an editorial apology for their role in that invasion. pretty sure that is not one of the invasions lefties like. their main opinion writer is friedman, who is not even slightly "left " The New York times is not left at all. In fact it's despised by most left thinkers. aside from that, did you read the article, and if you did, are there errors of fact in it? I haven't read the article, and have no opinion on it. Well that's the thing isn't it? The article is just pointing out what has already happened and is happening now. Ther is nothing in there that is flattering because ther is nothing in there to be flattered about. It really doesn't matter who wrote it, it's making people aware that, right now we don't have a very good PM, in fact, he could go down as one of the worst. As to it being in a left leaning news source? How else would that info come out. It's not like the right leaning papers would want to revisit this stuff. Interesting that you totally miss the point of what it means to be biased. Maybe I can come up with a pun so that you can relate a little better. Give me some time.

pretty vague statement in response to some specific examples. don't you think? anyway, unimportant. CNN: So let’s dive right in. The loudest criticism that we often hear about “The New York Times” — I don’t know if it’s the most frequent but it’s certainly the loudest, is that it has a liberal bias. Does it? MARGARET SULLIVAN, PUBLIC EDITOR, THE NEW YORK TIMES: Well, some of my predecessors have taken that head-on. In fact, Daniel Okrent, the first public editor, once wrote a column — and I think the headline said something like “Is ‘The Times’ a Liberal Newspaper?” And his answer in the lead was, of course it is. And he went on from there. And it got quite a bit of response. I mean, that is obviously something people feel about The Times, and I think maybe the best way to think about it is that The Times reflects its readership, its community. It’s an urban paper; it’s a New York City paper. I mean that’s a reasonable criticism, I think. CNN: So it is a yes? SULLIVAN: It’s a modified “yes,” with a lot of nuance in it.

Lol that's like quoting the Sun on a Trudeau article. NYT openly leans to the left. I don't know about the Sun comparison, but I realize they're left leaning. Regardless, I thought it was an interesting perspective from somebody outside of Canada. A look into the image we're presenting to the world. It's written by someone in Toronto. Well, never mind then... It's not a bad article really, it makes a lot of good points. I feel the same way about Harper to be honest. The clampdown on information can only be regarded as a bad thing. But that's only one piece of the picture.

Doesn't mean every opinion they ever print will align with a liberal point of view. I'm also not trying to say they are wrong in what they wrote. I'm just saying, if I told you the Sun printed something about Trudeau and it makes him look bad... well of course they did.

The Day Early Game Day Thread - TOR @ WPG
Atomic replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
During training camp you said you didn't know him, you're just a long time fan. Now you speak regularly? Or he just gave you his number so you can ask about injuries? -
Because you're a fan and I hate you!!!!!!!!

Well it does beg the question, on a short week, with one scheduled practice and a QB making his first start, you have a storm forecasted during the practice, and the coaching staff does nothing? Seems odd to me. When do you think they should have made the change? Did they know the night before exactly what time the storm would hit? No chance. Absolutely no chance. So you're talking about them calling all their players at 8 AM and saying HEY GUYS GET HERE ASAP!!! PRACTICE MOVED UP!!! Doesn't work that way.

God this is impossible. It's not about what I care about. Whether I "embrace the draft and develop" model makes no difference. The guy in the article was talking about the Jets' chances this year. I'm talking about the Jets' chances this year. Not in two years. Not in three years. Not about how they're set up to win a Cup in 5 years. This year. And they either got worse or stayed the same this year, and the team is going to miss the playoffs. Maybe they are setting up for a run in 2 or 3 years, I don't know. Makes no difference this year really. The team is not going to play as well as last year and I hope fans are prepared for that.
-
Yeah I think this might be the dumbest argument on here yet. And there have been some doozies.
-
A page worth of excuses. Frankly I don't care about the draft and develop model, I'm talking about their chances THIS YEAR. Which don't look good. Hilarious that you bring up Chicago and Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook. Let me know when we have even one player approaching the skill level of any of them. Until then the comparison is totally invalid.

Marve..... you look marvelous

So basically the Jets' plan is exactly what the article says. Add nothing, lose a couple pieces and hope everyone else just gets better this season. If that plan sounds familiar it's because the Bombers followed the same plan between 2011 and 2012. The Jets are going to miss the playoffs this year.

Is he? What is he wrong about? "There are some teams out there bursting with young talent. Those teams don't have to do much in the offseason, they simply need to wait for their players to develop into young stars. That's not the case with the Jets." I think he's referring to only young guys who were already in the lineup. The team overall is quite young but Scheifele, Lowry, Trouba, and Chiarot are the only guys who might still develop into stars. You kinda know what you have already with Wheeler, Little, Ladd, Stafford, etc. Rookies generally aren't stars in their first season so the guys you are looking at to take big steps forward this year are really only Scheifele, Lowry, and Trouba.
-
Is he? What is he wrong about? The team hasn't done anything to improve this offseason. Relying on Ehlers and Burmi to put this team over the top doesn't really give me too much confidence.
-
Then the clock is already ticking, as you say. They already admitted one bad hire by firing Etcheverry.
-
You're my only friends here...so let me know when you're going to come by to help. I've had the boys over for beers and to whip each other with extension cords but I don't know how you would stain a deck that way.
-
There might be. They go to BC for the Young Stars tournament from Sept 11-14 so I imagine they will be doing some practicing in the days leading up to that.
-
That's not true, there are also a couple prolonged shots at the back of Marve's jersey.
