  1. Brad Mikoluff #74. He still has eligibility for the Rifles, so if the Bombers like him, they can keep him as a non-counter all year. He is able to practise with the Bombers and play with the Rifles. It's a nice insurance deal for the Bombers because if they need a punter in a pinch, they can sign and dress him and he already knows the playbook, the players, and the coaches. This is a special deal open to all CJFL players who didn't play CIS. Each CFL team can have up to 4 local junior players in camp under this program. I suspect that the Bombers will keep both Mikoluff and Braedy Will around this year. Self edit: If he does dress for a regular season game, he loses the special status. At that point he would have to sign a contract and be a "counter". The deal is nice for teams but can be a double edged sword for the players. Braedy Will has drawn real interest from other teams but the Bombers are allowed to keep his rights without signing him to a contract. Will could possibly be earning a paycheck with another team but because of the territorial rights that the Bombers hold, they can keep him around without paying him and not have to worry about other teams offering him a deal.

  3. Kirk Penton says the Bombers are taking a look at Jock Sanders, maybe to be the returner until Stoudermire comes back
  4. Do you mean b/c he's white? No, I don't see skin color when I look at people. You are obviously not as advanced as I am.
  5. Hurl looked more like Labbe than Muamba on Friday night. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
  6. If true, that would be weak sauce on MB's part. One of the most effective backup situations, is when the #2 can throw defenses, a change up. If Marcel could or would not "change a lot of things" simply because of different styles of QB (which many other teams have handled in the past)........then we need another OC, here. Just because Marve is "#3" doesn't mean he can't come into games as a change of pace QB. I think we will see Marve more this season than the last.
  7. Randle Bass Burnett
  8. They also had Marve running the goal line package with the first team. Really can't see them cutting him.
  9. Marve's accomplishments occurred with under 6 minutes of playing time. Willy played an entire half + the first series of the third. I like Marve and I'd be shocked and disappointed if they let him go. But the fact is he was playing against third stringers running a prevent defence. Really hard to judge a QB in those circumstances. Of course it's better that he looked good than bad, but hard to say more than that.
  10. I'd say Kris Bastien was the biggest bright spot tonight. JFG looked good too. Really disappointed in our American running backs and receivers. Hopefully they look better when the season starts.
  11. Marve looked good but defence was really sitting back and giving him space by that point. My biggest concern would be he first team defence getting their asses handed to them tonight.
  12. Bottom line is too many people have been given fish and not enough have been taught to fish

  14. Hmm okay I understand.

  16. Mark - I've toured factories (known as "sweat shops" to guilt-laden liberals) in Egypt, Myanmar and Cambodia. I can tell you this - if it wasn't for us horrible North Americans buying up goods manufactured by these "working poor" from these countries, they wouldn't be "working poor", they'd be dead and starving poor. When it comes down to options for these people, it's work in these factories, or sell their bodies. It's that basic. When I was in Myanmar, I asked what the skilled ladies running the machines were making, and they told me $5 a day, which of course, given the North American mindset, made me recoil in horror. But then they told me that these ladies were really well-paid, given the cost of living was low enough that they had money left over to help support their families. My guide in Myanmar told me he could feed his whole family, including wife, parents and kids, on $50 a month. So I gave him a tip of $50 US so he could feed them all for a month. He showed me his house, which was by North American standards just plain awful - no electricity, bamboo walls etc. but he and his wife were happy. Could it be better? Yup. But that's the thing. We'd be hurting these people much much more by boycotting their products then by continuing to buy them. They are extremely happy to have jobs, which wouldn't exist, without us horrible exploitive evil North Americans. It's a process, and it takes time. The reality is, it's not possible for everyone to live the way most North Americans do. I realizes it will take time, but we actually need to be happy with less so they can have a little more. 20% of the world's population consumes 80% of the resources. What you don't realize is they have to take more, we can't give it to them. There are countries that have risen out of "developing" status and it wasn't due to North American handouts. It was due to finally getting good leadership and finding ways to thrive.
  17. Special place in hell for people who post that gif
  18. Kevin Glenn is there. He always ends up as the starter wherever he goes so I look for that trend to continue.
  19. Update: gary lawless ‏@garylawless 1h1 hour ago Sorry, comma missing in an email to me which confused message. Talks between #nhljets and Drew Stafford are "ongoing and well-intentioned."
  20. but the thing is, they have opportunities to improve themselves if they want to put in the work. Go get educated, find an entry level job with some upward mobility. Work in a field that pays higher without a lot of skills required. This country is great because you CAN improve your situation if you want to. Tough life? No education? Just excuses when it comes right down to it. The people who do the best in this country are the ones who know what they want and have the drive to go out and get it. For some yes. For others, easier said than done. Who said it was easy? Fact remains though if someone wants it they can get it. It makes it more of an accomplishment. If it was easy everyone would do it rather than being content to coast by at their minimum wage job. Life is about choices and finding out where you want to be. If you're happy to coast by in a minimum wage job that's a choice you've made. If you want to do better than that and do what is required to do better that's another choice you've made. Why should people who choose to work minimum wage jobs get a hand out at the expense of people who chose to make something more of themselves? "If it was easy everyone would do it" "If it was easy everyone would do it" "If it was easy everyone would do it" One of my favourite quotes.
  21. Gotta sign one of Frolik or Stafford. Would be a tough pill to swallow if they lose both.
  22. gary lawless ‏@garylawless 9m9 minutes ago told that talks between #nhljets and pending UFA Drew Stafford are very quiet at this point #bn
  23. I feel that way everyday.
  24. Oh yes I loved Zack and Miri. That was a good one.
  25. Yeah, I specifically meant today's Canada. Hard work in 1917 Russia wouldn't get you much lol. The problem still exists. But it's a across the ocean so we can pretend it doesn't. A large chuck of North American prosperity is on the backs of working poor in other countries. Ok for a third time I'll clarify that I'm talking about Canada specifically. Geez this is painful.
