  1. Sure I'd love to have Tarasenko here as well. There are plenty of really talented young RFA's out there though. Huberdeau, Galchenyuk, Kuznetsov, Brock Nelson, Braden Holtby. I'd love to have any of those guys. As for UFA's I would look for a forward with some experience. I'm thinking Joel Ward, Justin Williams, or Brad Richards. Yeah they are all guys in their mid-30s but they can all still play and would help balance out some of the young guys who might be coming up to the big club next year.
  2. RFA is a pipe dream. Tarasenko, Huberdeau? Lol those teams aren't letting those guys walk. Really soft free agent market this year. All I want is for us to re-sign Stafford and maybe Frolik and Stempniak if the price is right. Continue to build from within.
  3. Richards might be "raw" but he caught over 100 balls over the last two seasons after spending a couple years as a backup receiver in Regina. Anyone comparing him to Jade Etienne (who caught about 30 passes in 2 years after being converted from a kicker) is way out of their element. Does this guy look like Jade Etienne??? http://www.leaderpost.com/sports/Addison+Richards+ready+next+step/11049006/story.html
  4. I think we're all going to like Addison Richards. Just give it a little time. He won't be like Jade, we will see him on the field this season, probably starting at some point.
  5. And we already have 3 FBs listed on the Roster so yes I am puzzled by the Morgan and Lattanzio selections... Only one of Cronk and Fitzgerald will make it. It doesn't look like we will roster a Canadian RB so we might roster 3 FBs instead. Pontbriand, Normand, and Cronk/Fitzgerald. Lattanzio goes to the PR or back to school. He is a 5th round pick, I wouldn't expect anything out of him this year.
  6. That's bloody disgusting
  7. Durant is in the mix too, though.
  8. Not a bad trade for either side, I'd say. The Als' Canadian talent is already so deep. This is why they could stay competitive even without a QB. They just keep reloading the cupboard.
  9. I'm pretty sure he started every game at guard for the Als last year. He will start in Hamilton.
  10. Mack actually had 4 first round picks in his 4 drafts here... 5 if you count Poblah. 0 in 2010 because of Mike Kelly, 2 in 2011, 1 in 2012 (2 with Poblah), 1 in 2013. It's just too bad he didn't have a damn clue what to do with them.
  11. We had Goossen on the bench and were playing 3 import OL which meant Sherman had to start on D. Goossen should have been in the whole time because the American guards weren't even good anyways. Would have been much better off playing Sears and Goossen than American dud and Sherman. With all due respect to Sherman because he did the best he could but starting at SAM probably wasn't ideal.
  12. Still think they will trade the second overall pick
  13. Jim Bender is totally clueless
  14. I'll be surprised if they don't trade down
  15. So essentially they turned their 2nd rounders this year and next year into 3rd rounders and traded Bastien for Jorgen Hus.
  16. Connor had more hits than any of the other LBs in the draft class. Led Can-West in tackles as a JR and SR. Made a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and defended against the pass well. Last year 9 LBs were selected and expect more of the same this year. I had Connor as my #7 LB before the Jay Langa positive test at the Combine. I have him as my #9 LB. 7th rounder or free agent signing, I'd say. Langa has totally fallen off the map for me. At 5'9" he had an uphill battle anyways. Pedestrian test results at the combine along with the positive drug test have completely killed his chances.
  17. You could still get a pretty good OL at #8. I'd be happy with any of Mateas, Chungh, Groulx, Ruby, McEwen, or Lavoie. Maybe all 6 would be off the board by number 8 but I doubt it.
  18. Demski has another one?
  19. Thanks for that, Goalie, very interesting. As for Ehlers, sending him back to junior could even be counter productive. When you are that much better than the competition, you can start to develop bad habits... That would be a real concern for me.
  20. Good point, well said.
  21. Possibly but more likely one brainiac with a bad idea and 3 collaborators to help defray the cost. Haha I guess that's one way to look at it.
  22. I don't see Connor getting drafted. Too many good linebackers ahead of him. He will get a chance somewhere but won't be a draft pick IMO.
  23. I liked Mark F's avatar before it was cool
  24. 1 way or 2 way, it doesn't matter, he will be required to pass through waivers.
