  1. I'm not sure why either. 7 sacks in 14 games isn't bad. He shouldn't be the best DE on your team, but IMO there's nothing wrong with him being part of a rotation on our dl.
  2. What good is an OL when your receivers can't get open or catch the ball? Bombers are going receiver with the 2nd overall pick.
  3. Vega just didn't produce enough, he had a really poor season. Morley was just a matter of time. I still don't get all the Greg Peach hate here. I expect him to start and have another career season, likely will hit double digits in sacks if he stays healthy.
  4. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000487820/article/2015-sevenround-nfl-mock-draft-round-1 Seven round NFL mock draft has Covington and Varga going in the seventh round and Brandon Bridge going in the fifth. Brett Boyko and Alex Mateas are nowhere to be found, even on the list of "notable undrafted free agents" at the end of the article.
  5. We do have a depth problem. This shouldn't come as a surprise.
  6. If Waud isn't heading south that should be our pick. I hope Walters isn't too locked in on offensive linemen. Thanks. That was what I was wondering. Seemed the logical choice to me too. Get a guy who can start or even rotate first season on the DL, grab an OL at #11, maybe Harty at #15. That makes sense to me too.
  7. I saw enough of Buff's antics and costly penalties to at least ask the question - "what can we get for him in the market"? I would at least try and find out. I don't say let's just pull the plug, but I'd be dangling him out there, and Enstrom too. If you can swing a deal like we got for Kane and Bogo, where you can pry an elite player like Myers out, with some solid prospects, jump at it. I'd have no problem with moving Buff if we can get a good return. Its the mindless assertion that the team would be better with any third line plug than we would be with Buff that really gets me.
  8. Not sure what you aren't understanding. Oh well. Keep believing what you like about Buff. I get it that it's not a popular opinion. I understand you perfectly well, you're just completely wrong. Run along now.
  9. And going too old and slow has its costs too. Look at how young Calgary is, and how old and slow Vancouver is. True but we are nowhere close to that. One of the youngest teams in the league.
  10. Lol you just make stuff up and accept it as fact in your own head. He gets one goal and allows two?? Really??? That's some funny math considering he was a plus player this year. I understand the limitations of plus/minus but that right there tells everyone you are just talking out of your ass right now.
  11. Sure, you just keep on believing he's a liability and that any third line d-man would be an upgrade. That's why he makes 5 mil+ per year... Because he hurts his team more than he helps them.
  12. Give away Byfuglien for nothing and the Jets are a better team. Addition by subtraction. No, you're dead wrong. It doesn't work that way. That's called the Oilers model. I'm not saying Chevy should just give Buff away...his job is to get as many assets as he can for Buff. I'm just saying that if Buff were to just go away and we get nothing in return, the Jets are a better team. I realize what you're saying and I completely disagree.
  13. Give away Byfuglien for nothing and the Jets are a better team. Addition by subtraction. No, you're dead wrong. It doesn't work that way. That's called the Oilers model.
  14. Paper is one thing. Practice is another. Its about Chemistry. And it's not minus Buff, plus Postma. if you minus Buff, you add others. And why can't Armia make the team better? Last summer people would say gee we better resign Jokinen or what, we're gonna go into the season with Lowry as our 3C?? And look how that turned out. Re-sign Ladd. Re-sign one of Stafford or Frolik and you're a better team than most of the season this year. Ladd-Little-Wheeler Perreault-Scheif-Stafford Ehlers-Lowry-Armia Stemp-Copp(Slater)-Thorburn Sure, that 3rd line looks young. But it has potential to be very fast, exciting, offensive (in a good way). Not to mention, what does trading Buff get you? What does trading Burmi get you? So we're going to trade Buff and Burmi and get better players back? Or are we going to get draft picks and prospects? the future is nice but I'm not interested in taking a step back now that the team is finally making some progress. It's the difference between GM's and fans. Fans always want the next guy NOW NOW NOW, because they have seen the veterans play and seen their flaws. Guess what? The young guys are going to have flaws too, and they are also going to be working through the inexperience. The best way to bring up prospects is naturally. Let them be the organizational depth that get a chance when there is an injury. Sure your 3rd line of Ehlers, Lowry, and Armia could be good. But what happens when one gets injured? All your best prospects are already on the roster so now you have to rush guys in or bring in AHL duds. Too young, too fast, is what kills teams. And the Jets are already walking that line.
  15. because it is...the Jets didnt do it. Not with the top guys, but Chiarot, Pardy, and Harrison both played both sides. And just because the Jets didn't do it with their top guys doesn't mean they didn't consider it and can't in the future.
  16. Why do people think its such an issue to switch a d-man to the opposite side? Literally every team does it. Rearrange the d pairings to Toby-Myers, Buff-Trouba, Stuart-Postma. Problem solved.
  17. Just shocked that people think we can be a better team next year with Armia over Frolik/Stafford and Postma over Byfuglien. Speaking of things that don't add up...
  18. I fully expect us to take a running back at some point... Not sure who or when
  19. No microbrew! And no antiquing! Wouldn't putting you, 17 and Noeller in the same room by definition be antiquing? Post of the off-season right here. I may have giggled out loud. I may have also been given a funny look or 3 for said giggle.. It has a lot of ironic value as well, as I'm actually a 13 year old girl pretending to be a forty-something-old dude. Speaking of crotchety old dudes, where's ISO been? I was wondering the same thing. He hasn't posted in a month
  20. You think we have one of those to deal?? Morley is the only one who springs to mind.
  21. I could see BC doing that deal but we would need to sweeten it with a good Canadian player or a later draft pick.
  22. Why? Keeping in mind the rankings are meaningless.Because I see OL as the biggest need, and I think Kyle Walters does too. I'm not so sure myself. He has also commented that he is happy with the Canadian OL that we have. If Groulx or Chungh aren't good enough to unseat a starter this year, I wouldn't draft them. Demski or Waud could both start for us this year, IMO, or at least play in a heavy rotation.
  23. I would have moved him to third line minutes. Not taken him out, just reduced his ice time. I would have moved Perreault to Little's line. But Im sure Perreault is hurt too. That guy deserves whatever Warrior Award there is. Takes a licking, keeps on ticking. Yeah maybe. But even then, Ladd had 20:29 average ice time and Perreault 17:03. So it's not a huge difference.
