  1. I'm interested in taking a step forward before winning the race. Progress, even a little bit is a worthwhile endeavour. Going from bad to great is unrealistic, going from bad to average to great is a much easier transition though. Too many people impatient and looking for those magic beans that will fix everything, they don't appreciate the process of building something up. I'm interested in turning things around. Not in 5 years, or 3 years, or 2. NOW. Other teams have done it, gone from being a cellar dweller to highly competitive in one year, so it is something that can be done. I'm tired of the excuses and the "Rome wasn't built in a day" crap. This ain't Rome, so build the bloody thing now. And by the way, I think that Walters, as much as I was really concerned about him when he was hired, seems to be of a like mind. So forget average, because when you aim for average, you've already failed. Like I said, impatient with no respect for the process. Impatient, damned straight I'm impatient. I would think that anyone who is concerned about this team, it's traditions and it's history, both recent and farther back, would fell the same way. Tell me, how has your patience worked out for you so far? You're happy with how the team has been performing these last 5 or so years? Participation ribbons are good enough for you? And as for respect fothe process, that's rich. What process exactly am I to respect. The process that has kept this team where it's been for so long? Buzz words and catch phrases might be ok for you but I'll take results. Not only that I expect them. Clearly, with your "respect the process" mantra, you must be a Leafs fan. The last line is the funniest because as I was reading your post I was thinking "Man this guy sounds just like a Leafs fan."
  2. If we lose it will be Pavs fault for being too easy to score on in practice
  3. I like both Brohm and Marve. Portis has no game experience so I would prefer to have 2 guys ahead of him who have shown they can play. Every team carries 4 or 5 QBs through the season now so IMO signing Brohm would be a smart move.
  4. Great read keep it going
  5. Chiarot could be playing on the left side for us for a long time.
  6. Every team has changed. As much as we want to believe it, we can't just say 6 wins plus Stanley Bryant = playoffs. We also can't say 9 wins minus Ben Heenan = a bad season for the Riders. IMO Calgary and Edmonton will be the class of the league again. Between Sask, BC, and Winnipeg, its a toss up. It's going to be a very competitive season and the Bombers won't be handed anything.
  7. I was surprised at Myers' top end speed that he showed on the Wheeler goal. Didn't realize he had that in him.
  8. Ya LeFors only played in 3.5 games in 2009 and Bishop couldn't run. Good try though.
  9. I prefer "Hey everybody! We're all gonna get laid!"
  10. Swiston had a lot more success at the collegiate level (Canada West lineman of the year, Canada West all star, CIS second team all star) but has had about the same amount of professional success as Tyson Pencer, which is to say not much. But at least he is still employed.
  11. You're right. Funny to think about it now, but Morley was our starting LT for the entire 2009 season when they allowed the fewest sacks in the league.
  12. Obviously Richie Hall is comfortable with Miles. I wouldn't put too much stock into what Rider fans say.
  13. Hope they can get something for him but wouldn't count on it. Either way, his days as a Bomber are pretty much over. 2009-2014 Blue Bomber OL is the January Morley era.
  14. I'm interested to see how Newman fits in now. Remember he left Saskatchewan because he wanted more playing time and they weren't going to give it to him. Of course Hall was the coordinator at the time. Two different teams and obviously different situations but I'm curious to see how Hall will use him. I could see Hurl grabbing a starting LB job and eating up most of the reps as our second Canadian on defence. I don't think Hall will be able to resist the prospect of having Turner and Anderson on the field together for most of the game, so Thomas will see less time this year.
  15. Claude Lemieux is also one of the greatest playoff performers of all time. 4 Stanley Cups and a Conn Smythe to go along with them. Think of a 3rd line guy who all of a sudden turns into a goal per game guy when the playoffs start.
  16. Craig Button would know! Where are all these prospects going to fit in? great problem to have. We're still at the point that we desperately need more pro-aged prospects in the system. Look at how it is right now... there are basically no realistic call-up options in St. John's, especially at forward. Plenty of room for more good young players in the organization still.
  17. Not a huge fan of moving out Bogo at this point in the season but I do like the trade overall.
  18. Biggest blockbuster I've seen in quite some time. We lose two very good but controversial players and pick up some very interesting pieces. Curious to see how this plays out.
  19. Geeze Louise...Ottawa has improved their receiving corps. by about 3000 percent. Let's see if Ellingson and Price can stay healthy. And I don't love the Sinopoli signing. They are still weak at Canadian receiver.
  20. Good chance we can draft a top defensive tackle. Not gonna happen in free agency though, unless someone gets released. Hamilton and Ottawa both have more Canadian DL than they can use, IMO.
  21. I'd still like to see us sign Curran or Peters, along with Brohm and Sears.
  22. Big Buff. My goodness. Is there anything he can't do?
  23. They call him "Rogers" in the press release lol... http://www.bluebombers.com/article/Bombers-Sign-OL-Stanley-Bryant
  24. I could see the Bombers looking for a little more experience at backup. But yeah, I think Lefevour will end up in BC or Ottawa.
