  1. How much money does it cost you when someone makes a grammar mistake on the internet? PS. restaurant not restaraunt
  2. And this post sums up perfectly the schizophrenic mentality of the average Winnipeg sports fan. Either way too high or way too low. Yep. Probably the silliest Jets post I've seen on this site so far.
  3. You've finally lost it. Morley may be nearing the end and we can see that Neufeld has trouble staying healthy, other than that you couldn't be more wrong. Picard is still a top 3 centre in the league (Brett Jones will be NFL next year, other two in the top 3 would be Luc B-J and Jeff Keeping) and doesn't appear to be close to letting that go. As far as Goossen being ready to start.... are you kidding??? Did you actually watch him play? He needs more time, how much more time will depend on how he has grown this offseason. But he's not there yet. And to say Greaves is coming off a horrendous season is a joke. He wasn't great but in my opinion he was our most consistent OL last year. Time to re-evaluate your opinion JBR because I don't know where you're getting this stuff.
  4. Jordan Matechuk come on down
  5. You're absolutely right
  6. That is absolutely awful news
  7. Yeah of course you put in an offer for Dominic Picard. He would start at centre for us.
  8. Well he is not a free agent. Not sure when he is scheduled to be, but you'd have to think Edmonton will want to extend him if they can.
  9. I feel so bad for Oiler fans
  10. I'm not sure about that. Donny O shouldn't be able to command too much money. He missed most of last year and he was never dominant prior to that. Hickman has one good CFL season to his name, and Bear Woods potentially has two other starting calibre mlbs to contend with that will bring his value down. My guess is their cumulative total would be closer to $600k. IMO Holmes is the only one of that group that should approach $200k. Can't say I disagree with the list of players though. Would be great to see those 4 in Blue and Gold.
  11. Not a surprise for me. The fans there have wanted him gone for some time. Their OL has been awful but I'm not sure that is all on coaching because their talent has been questionable at best.
  12. Haven't heard anything to the contrary. Our genius media members didn't find it to be a worthy question to ask O'Shea at the last press conference.
  13. Easy big fella you can't just go around calling people communists
  14. Come on TUP! Make up your mind!
  15. Also I wouldn't be opposed to trading Chiarot if we could use him as part of a package to get a good forward. I bet you someone will give him a better contract than we will be willing to give him after this season so trading him wouldn't be a bad option. Remember that for left habded D we have Enstrom, Stuart, Harrison, and Clitsome all under contract with Morrissey possibly entering the conversation next year. There will be a team that is more desperate for a good young defenceman than we are.
  16. Have you seen a doctor or hospital for that concussion of yours? Their fanbase is embarrassingly low on iq, football knowledge or even common decency.. Yet Riderfans is probably the best fan forum out there for CFL discussion. It's actually the worst. Hive mind mentality at its finest. Not only do they all share the same opinions, they all use the same jokes and phrases over and over again. Anyone with a dissenting opinion is banned. Lots of discussion going on over there for sure but quantity definitely does not equal quality.
  17. How is that any different from saying "what if in a year O'Reilly will be a UFA and decides he doesn't want to be here"? Its the same situation, but now you spent a year and a half paying more money to a less valuable player. This isn't about present vs. future. O'Reilly has the same contract term as Buff. We're talking about what serves the team better for the next year and a half and the obvious answer is that keeping Byfuglien serves the team better.
  18. According to who? Kevin Cheveldayoff? Did he say that about Buff? How about Maurice? No? So then why? Because he is a little older? This team can't just keep getting younger every year, that's a recipe for disaster. You can't cast off every player that hits 30-years-old.
  19. 1. They hate BC. 2. The Rider defence has actually been pretty good for the last couple years.
  20. Buff is a core member of the team and a top-pairing defenceman. He is arguably the strongest player in the NHL, has a fantastic shot, is a great skater, is great on the power play, popular in the dressing room, and on top of all that can also fill a role as a top-9 forward if necessary. Ryan O'Reilly is a decent 2nd/3rd line forward who makes almost a million more than Buff per year and has barely put up 0.5 points per game this season. He also has generally been a distraction to his team for the past year and a half... notice the constant trade rumours.
  21. What an absolute disaster of a trade that would be. No chance this happens. Byfuglien is one of our top 2 D. ROR would be a 2nd/3rd line winger. Terrible trade-off.
  22. Without the new stadium that money wouldn't even exist
  23. Buff will not be going back to forward. That experiment is over.
