  1. I'd be disappointed if Dressler was available and we didn't go after him. He is a great receiver.
  2. Probably less than 20 minutes of actual content in the hour long show.
  3. ???? Romby just wasn't getting open at all. It was painful. Nah you're way off. Romby was wide open on two plays that would have been TDs if not for obvious underthrows by Willy. No need to know the play call.
  4. Or perhaps leave Johnson at HB and put in Markett at corner, if he is healthy.
  5. Fantuz is still their best receiver. He will get his catches, just gotta limit the damage, and make good tackles. Did someone say Sears is back practicing? Inserting Greaves on the OL and Sears over Teague Sherman is a nice boost for the team. No disrespect to Teague intended... but Sears is quite clearly the better player.
  6. So then, draft & develop is kind of a joke, isn't it? We're counting on one, maybe two, players each year coming up in the system. At that rate, it takes 8-9 years to rebuild a team. This is how long we are expected to wait? yes basically, unless you're interested in spending a ton in FA it takes a long time to build up a system with depth, especially when you're starting from as shitty a place as the Thrashers were in. That team really crippled it's organizational depth. They left a few good pieces in the system, but not nearly enough. Well, Winnipeg has the fourth-most cap space in the league right now, so I think a free agent or two wouldn't kill us.

  8. Bilukidi will be a Blue Bomber. It's just a matter of time now.
  9. He might struggle at left guard
  10. Their OL is truly awful. Worst in the league right now.
  11. Romby could have had 2 touchdowns against BC with better throws from Willy
  12. The difficulty is that 2nd and 3rd round picks often take 4 or 5 years to be ready to even start to break into the NHL, it's development. People get impatient though expecting instant results. Well in 4 years, our second round picks are Nic Petan, Eric Comrie, and Lukas Sutter. Petan and Comrie obviously have potential, but Sutter isn't even Jets property anymore. I'm as excited as anyone about Petan, but in four years of drafting you would hope we could find one player in the second round that would be able to play at least a depth role moving between the Jets and IceCaps.
  13. LeFevour is an excellent runner, right on par with Reilly. He is also very accurate. BUT his arm strength is lacking, IMO. His mental game should get a workout vs the Etcheverry defence. If we can contain him to the pocket, we will win.
  14. Sounds like Simoni Lawrence, Mike Filer and Rico Murray will be back though. Hamilton is going to be fired up for this game, best not to take them lightly.
  15. He doesn't need to be on the sidelines to talk to Grigsby right away. Just put him on the headset. What's Buck going to tell him? Not a slight on Buck but he was a qb & wasn't a running back. Even though he's his position coach I don't think Pierce can give Grigsby any pearls of wisdom that anyone else can't. I think they're grooming Buck to be the qb coach in a year or two so he's up in the booth watching & listening to Bellefeuille. Hmm... so Buck being our RB coach is more about grooming Buck than about grooming our RB's? That doesn't seem right.
  16. He doesn't need to be on the sidelines to talk to Grigsby right away. Just put him on the headset. Sure... but in-person conversation is always better. Ever worked in an office where you talk on the phone with someone for half an hour and don't get anywhere... then you walk over to their desk and get everything worked out in five minutes? There is a big difference between phone conversation and in-person conversation, and I don't think that can even be debated.
  17. He could sign a decent left-winger so we don't have Eric Tangradi as our third line left wing. Tangradi is terrible. Sticking with Pavelec is a terrible move. Either he is not good enough, or the team in front of him is not good enough. Well, our defence is the exact same as it was last season. So what are they expecting? Pavelec to take a huge leap in his development? The defence to somehow magically get better this season, even with no changes? Sorry but that's not going to happen. Everyone knows this team is not going to make the playoffs this season. There is literally no chance. And yet Cheveldayoff sits idly by and does nothing, as usual. What has he ever done to improve this team? He took a broken team from Atlanta and is trying desperately to keep them together. Why? What is this team going to look like after a few injuries? Clitsome on the top D-pairing, Thorburn back on the third line again... Tangradi on the second line? God help us. I like the "Draft and develop" strategy. But that is only one part of building a team. It can't be the ONLY route a team goes to improve. 4 years after the Thrashers came to Winnipeg, and they still look like the Thrashers. Chevy is just not nearly active enough in free agency or on the trade market. Even his drafting has been suspect so far. Sure, it looks like he hit home runs with Trouba and Scheifele. But that's only two players, and there isn't a single player in St. John's who looks ready to make the jump. You gotta get some value from the second and third round picks... you just have to. It can't just be one first-round pick every year. People talk about a five-year plan, or whatever. I don't buy it. Chevy does not have a plan. It should have been a full-scale rebuild from the beginning, but he has clung to this idea that the team needed to stay together to win some games now. So we end up in 10th every year. And we will again this year. Not bad enough for a high pick, not good enough to make the playoffs. We can do better... but we won't. Not with Chevy.
  18. I don't know. Edem lost his starting job in Montreal. Would this defence be better with Edem at safety than with Bucknor at corner? I'd lean towards no. No question Edem could have helped us last year, but who knows, in a year or two we might be thanking Mack for drafting Mulumba if he ends up here.
  19. Not me. I want that home playoff game. It is a crime that we have seen so few of them lately because the atmosphere is incredible. I can't even imagine what a packed IGF in the playoffs would be like.
  20. Interesting comment on Buck. I was thinking during the game that it might not be a bad idea to have Buck down on the sidelines talking to Grigsby. Buck and Bellefeuille are both up in the booth so when Grigsby screws up, there isn't really anyone to tell him what he did wrong.
  21. Teams already have lots of film. It's not like he is doing anything here that he hasn't done before in his other stops.
  22. Updated Points Against per Game: CGY - 13.0 EDM - 16.8 BC - 18.4 WPG - 22.8 HAM - 23.0 SSK - 23.25 OTT - 28.25 MTL - 28.25 TOR - 29.8
  23. I don't believe Milanovich, Benevides, or Austin are in any real danger. Higgins would be my guess for first to go.
  24. Been invisible for the most part IMO. Last week was his first game of the season and he had 9 tackles
  25. Screwed over a lot of people this week lol.
