  1. maher? Yeah they brought back Maher
  2. Neither Jones nor Howard have really proven enough to warrant a trade, especially for a Canadian, IMO. It would also appear that the Ticats and Lions have more problems on the interior of their OL, rather than the tackles. Also, Jones is on the PR so if another team really wanted him they could probably just try to steal him away. As far as January goes, no chance I would trade him now when it finally appears we have a little stability on the OL.
  3. "Dwight Anderson is in early-season form!" - Rod Black
  4. Total disaster for Hamilton right now. O-Line does not look good.
  5. With how poor Jamie Robinson looked at LB for the Argos last night, I could see them possibly moving a late draft pick or spare part to acquire Banks. The only other team that I would imagine has any interest would be Ottawa but I really can't see them moving much in terms of Canadians or draft picks... maybe we could get Wallace Miles back or something similar.
  6. Less than 30,000 fans showed up for both of Saskatchewan's preseason games combined. After a Grey Cup year. Worst fans in the league. For 2 meaningless games. There will be well over 30K for the Rider opener. Sell out, though? Nah... doubt it.
  7. Under the pretense of bored and looking for something to do during my adolescent years, I could probably point to a dozen different times where fate could have gone in the opposite direction and I end up in jail or dead from something that started out as a goof. And by all normal measures I will not be mistaken for either Evel Knievel or Al Capone. People who are not grown-ups will often not act grown up. Exactly! I could have gone to jail several times. But I didn't... never got caught, never got punished, now a university graduate with a great career. You think I would have gotten this far if I had been tossed in jail at 16? No chance.

  9. All children who wet the bed or start fires should then be incarcerated for life. Can't risk them becoming serial killers. Why do you have to be so generalistic & sensitive when you get into a discussion? Holy ****. The guy was just making a point. And he's right. Those are some of the characteristics. Especially if a kid is 16 & wetting the bed, then that person has a problem, not if he's 8. And the torture of animals. Although it is safe to say that not everyone will become a serial killer who does those things. I'm not sensitive at all... Why are you being so mean to me?
  10. They can't. A cricket team in India trademarked the royal blue and gold colour scheme so the Bombers can't wear it anymore.

  12. I'm a Manitoban originally just like you.... You're in Olds, AB, right? I don't like hangings but I do think the kid who set the fire needs to be held more accountable. As far as the kid who stabbed a stranger in calgary, it really wasn't meant to be a comparison at all. Just brought it up as it was newsworthy & definitly shocking. People here are saying that jail does not work. That incarceration teaches kids to be criminal. That it hardens them as they get older so they reoffend. So, my question was, if you read my original post about that boy who knifed the stranger was.... what do people here think the justice system should do with him if they believe jail time does not work? It doesn't have to be "No jail for anyone" vs. "Jail for everyone". Sometimes jail is the right choice and sometimes not.
  13. Not sure but prolly sometime between Mike Kelly and Joe Mack ... she was very quiet about it cause I never knew. I feel so betrayed Sounds like a bandwagon jumper to me ! Guess she's not one of those fans who sticks through rough stretches. She'll fit in just fine in "Rider Nation"!
  14. Raising the bar big time!!
  15. Big difference between lighting a fire and having it spread out of control versus stabbing an innocent man to death. Jail is obviously appropriate in that case. What if that kid who set fire used bad judgement & set a building on fire resulting in loss of life? The 15 year od who stabbed that poor guy. It could have been any of us. Or a loved one. Guy went shopping on a Friday night & never came home. Think about that. 1. Yes he used bad judgement, but there was no loss of life, so you can't punish him for that. Do you punish everyone who drives above the speed limit as if they are a murderer?? That could result in loss of life as well.2. What does the 15 year old who stabbed a guy have to do with any of this??? Yes he deserves jail. Should I say it a third time?
  16. No more ridiculous than believing that being completely honest will make the team better. What Mike O'Shea says in the media is totally irrelevant to how the team performs on the field. What exactly is the point you are trying to make here?

  18. I'm assuming some tickets are still held back so the number remaining is probably a little higher than that... still that is looking like a pretty good turn out considering we heard just last week that ticket sales were hovering around 24000. It seems all sections are open except for a few which are clearly sold. I'm not so sure there are tickets held back. Take a look now... I'm on my phone. How does it look now? Tons of seats available. The entire north endzone is basically empty.

  20. There is no way Calgary would let Peach go. I'm sorry to disappoint everyone but they would dress 7 OL and stick someone else on the IR before they would ever let Peach go. In fact that is probably the case with most practice roster players. Teams don't like to let their assets go for nothing, especially good Canadian OL prospects.
  21. Oh who didn't like some fires when they were a kid. Boys will be boys.
  22. I don't know what to expect out of Edmonton. I feel like they didn't really add any talent in the offseason, other than Pat Watkins, and they lost Ted Laurent. Are they trying to sell the idea that the team was 4-14 based purely on coaching? Should be interesting to see how it turns out there.
  23. Probably Darian Durant
