  1. Actually, David Asper and Brock Bulbuck spent $500,000 of the Bombers' money to maintain full control over the Board. Shame on the BOD for allowing their personal issues to cost the club this much money. So you think it was a good idea to allow Sammy to abuse his power and force one of his (unqualified as he has no connections to the City of Winnipeg) buddies onto the Bombers BOD, in exchange for $500,000 in taxpayer dollars? Okay. What difference does it make??? If they get someone from the City of Winnipeg, it is still going to be one of Sam Katz's friends. You know, since he is the Mayor of the city? All this is, is the Board of Directors pissing money down the drain because the three guys in charge can't allow someone else with money and influence onto their Board.
  2. Actually, David Asper and Brock Bulbuck spent $500,000 of the Bombers' money to maintain full control over the Board. Shame on the BOD for allowing their personal issues to cost the club this much money. Or the BOD spent $500k to not give in and play Katz' game of crony politics. And you think this was a good investment? Wow. To keep ONE guy off the Board. Yes, brilliant financial management. Definitely no personal politics involved in that one.

  4. You're looking at this wrong. Sam Katz is a criminal. He was attempting to use taxpayers money to try and buy his buddy onto the Bombers BOD. That's how Sammy works...he's a criminal. Really? How much taxpayer money did Sam Katz offer to get Rabb on the Board?
  5. So now the Board is costing the Bombers an extra $500,000 in transit costs because they didn't want an opinionated outsider to join their little club. Wonderful.
  6. Jones might even have a shot at starting at corner at some point in the season, IMO. Alexander and Bucknor are solid players but not world-beaters... no guarantee either one holds on to the starting job. Not saying Jones will win the job out of camp, but he has the athleticism, that's for sure. Briggs has a chance to take a big role on special teams if he shows he can handle it.
  7. Dont know where you got info from but he's made it clear he's coming to camp and wants to play. Good news for the University of Manitoba Bisons football team might not be seen in the same light by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Bisons defensive tackle Evan Gill, whom the Ticats took with the ninth overall pick in the CFL draft earlier this month, has decided to go back to school this fall instead of signing his first pro contract with the Tabbies. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2014/05/26/evan-gill-opts-to-play-another-year-with-bisons-instead-of-joining-cfls-ticats
  8. Pretty sure it's part of his contract, included as an off the books source of income to outbid other teams in free agency. Well if it is part of his contract then it is not off the books...
  9. True but QBs are the exception, they are all expected at rookie camp regardless of veteran status.
  10. Had a beer at the Grove the other day, I believe it was called Broken Squirrel. Very enjoyable.
  11. Andrew Harris was being completely honest and sensible... terrible traits to display during a negotiation, unfortunately. I agree that they appear to be staggering. But just to be clear, they weren't ready with a counter-proposal, because on Wednesday that was their counter-proposal. The league hasn't changed their stance. The PA is going to have to come up with something new because revenue sharing just doesn't look like it's going to happen.
  12. Andrew Harris is going to have a lot of players pissed off at him after that interview... Listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/680cjob/andrew-harris-cfl-and-cflpa-dispute

  14. Chuck Assman? Is that a real name?
  15. So what would you like us to put on your grave stone?? "Breath-holding World Champion"
  16. Breaking news: Old, bitter forum users do not like new thing. More at 11.
  17. That's correct. Ed Molstad has been involved with the CFLPA for many years. He played in the CFL in the 70's and was a member of the negotiating committee back then.
  18. The problem is that the negotiations can't even begin until the players abandon the revenue sharing concept. There's really no wiggle room there.... you either have revenue sharing or you don't. Nothing to negotiate until that is resolved.
  19. Why the Greg Peach hate? He is a pretty good DE. Only got into 6 games after joining the circus in Winnipeg and still recorded 3 sacks. He is a nice guy to have around in case none of the new guys pan out.
  20. Bush didn't sign with the Lions until 2013. It was Jahvid Best and Joique Bell who pushed Kevin Smith out of a job.
  21. Ted Laurent was born in Montreal and the Als haven't missed the playoffs... ever. If the money is equal, Laurent signs in Montreal. Believing otherwise is just wishful thinking.
  22. Seems like a pleasant young man. http://iphone.tsn.ca/tsnpodcasts/1290_HL_Smith_May202014.mp3
  23. The players will not stay on strike for a whole season. There's no way. It just won't happen. And that's why they are going to lose this fight. Like I just heard them say on Hustler and Lawless, does anyone think at 38 years old Henry Burris is going to give up $465,000? Who knows if that contract will even still be there next year. Just so Joe Nobody can have an extra 10 grand on his minimum salary? Is Henry Burris that selfless??? Is anyone????
  24. Good receiver out of the backfield as well. Tough runner, think Chad Simpson but bigger.
