His track record as a DC in this league is not that bad. Over 5 seasons as a CFL DC, he has posted a 42-46-2 record, with 4 playoff appearances and 2 Grey Cup appearances. The one year he missed the playoffs was in 2000 with Saskatchewan and if you remember what was going on with the Riders in 2000, it is pretty tough to lay the blame on him for that one.The fact of the matter is that people are up in arms because he is unconventional in his approach, nothing more. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, which is the really strange thing. I guess some people are just afraid to take chances and would rather go with a known loser like Kavis Reed than swing for the fences with a guy like Etcheverry. You manipulating stats to support your point of view... His defences being good only lasts untill opposing offences figure him out Feel free to use stats to support your view. "His defences being good only lasts untill opposing offences figure him out" That is just a cliche that has been repeated by Rider fans over the last few years, based on one season where things went south after Labour Day (though they still made the Grey Cup). Doesn't mean it's necessarily true.

Atomic's? Cause my argument isnt my argument. Its the argument of many doctor's, scientists and nutritionists. Although it does suck that milk is unhealthy. Many doctors, scientists, and nutritionists take the opposite position. This is undeniable. The mistake you're making is that you believe that your position is unanimously supported by doctors, etc, which is obviously untrue. And you are claiming that any of those professionals who disagree are just part of the milk lobby or whatever your position is on them.

Ticats cut Brandon Isaac? Penton:source

I wouldn't, considering he is useless in pass coverage. I would be interested in bringing in Cody Husband. -
Also mentioned Louie Richardson, Stafford Gatling, and Kenny Tate will get reps at MLB in training camp. No mention of Terrell Parker, interestingly.

You're doing the exact same thing that you are accusing us of. I say meat and milk can be part of a healthy diet, and you turn around and say "show me one person who says you need to eat as much meat and dairy as possible!!" Seriously, what is that? It doesn't have to be all or nothing, and that is the point that you just don't seem to understand.

Playing big in a small body gets you hurt. Ian Wild seemed pretty resilient last season.
-
The best part is that he claims it is common sense but he didn't know it until he read it in a book. Unclear on the definition of common sense I suppose.
-
Never once said humans NEED milk. My position is that it can be part of a healthy diet that leads to a long, healthy life.

Okay, fair enough. If you want some facts, give me some time to give this the effort it deserves. I'm at work right now, but I will get back to this on the weekend.
-
Optimum according to their opinion, not any sort of scientific reasoning. You believe it is optimum simply because they have told you it is. You have not presented a single fact in this entire thread, other than "read the China Study" and "I love milk so you can trust me." If you are going to try and present something as being factually correct, be prepared to support it with facts. Otherwise don't whine when you get called out on it.
-
Amazing that the debate rages on amongst nutritionists, doctors, scientists, and others, but here we have The Unknown Poster telling us that he "knows THE optimum way to eat" to achieve long life, fitness, etc. Your words, not mine. Maybe you need to open your eyes and realize that the milk lobby isn't the only group peddling lies.

Funny how in your mind, your opinion = common sense. To me, common sense is that you should eat a balanced diet. I eat meat, dairy, grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables. I am in perfect health, so I'm going to keep eating that way. That's common sense. Reading a book and accepting it as the basis for your new lifestyle is not common sense. It is being easily swayed by a guy with some numbers that try to say that correlation = causation. Again, search google and find the critics of the China Study. It is blatantly obvious that it is a flawed study.
-
Your research can't stop with The China Study. Your first impulse after reading a book like that should be to seek out the criticisms of it to see how well the facts hold up. Don't take one guy's word for it... challenge it. There are plenty of critics of The China Study out there, just do a Google search. Reading one book and accepting it as some kind of nutrition gospel is just a terrible idea.

Yeah but you're a self-righteous ******.Be that as it may.........I'm still right.I'm not sure what you're right about, but you are of course entitled to your opinion. Unfortunately for you, the pro-pot crowd is winning the battle. Weed will be legal as soon as the conservatives inevitably get knocked out of power. You will be surrounded by slow-moving, indifferent stoners before you know it. See here's the thing. That will never happen even if they legalize it as they're going to put just as many laws on it as they do drinking, if not more. You make it sound like this is going to be some free walk in the park and people can just light up anywhere. Ever heard of a vaporizer? Can smoke where ever I want and no one has any idea. -

Keep in mind that there is no proof that he smoked and got behind the wheel, there is only proof that he had the marijuana in his possession.Pretty sure the story said the officer smelled the weed, 99.9% sure he was smoking it ... http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=451516 That's not proof. You don't have to smoke weed to smell it. -
This is very loosely CFL related so I am just throwing it in the General Forum here. Check out this tweet from Jim Popp (Warning: Pictures of Leg Wound): Jim Popp @BigDaddyMville 18h My Super Hero wife Kim, mother of 6, sweet as honey, tougher than steel. Bit by shark in HHI. Normally I'd say no but we are quite thin at Canadian receiver... I'm sure he could be had for a reasonable price and if he really is worse than the prospects we have then we can just cut him without a major loss. With our lack of depth, I'm not sure we're in a position to be choosy. If we don't sign him, Ottawa will. I'm sure of that.

In the NHL, did you know that recreational drug offences aren't made public? It is to protect the player and allow them to go into rehab quietly and deal with their problem. And what's wrong with that? Everyone deserves a chance to clean up their act without having the media all over them. Remember that next time you hear about a player suffering a mysterious injury that they never actually left a game for... Drug use is rampant, but we just don't hear about it. -
Oh God don't be so naive.University educated man intent on playing in the CFL & he claims he didn't know that what he was taking (Stanozolol) was a steroid? Who is being naive here? I think it's you Atomic. You misunderstood. I don't believe that Quinn Smith didn't know exactly what he was doing. My comment was referring to Duressler47's apparent shock at the fact that some athletes use steroids and other drugs. It is incredibly widespread. Duressler (to me) was stating that it seems like more athletes today are using illegal drugs like marijuana or performance enhancing drugs like Stanozolol. I think his comments are directed towards them either not being very bright or that they are cheaters. Hence the integrity comment. Some will get caught & others won't but why take the chance? Because for every one that gets caught, 99 get away with it. And the rewards are money, glory, beautiful women, and making a career out of playing a game you love. I can't blame guys for trying to get every edge they can.
