http://www.bluebombers.com/article/bombers-add-two-import-dbs Bombers Add Two Import DBs The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added import defensive backs Don Unamba and Phillip Benning. Unamba (6-1, 192, Southern Arkansas, February 23, 1989, in Arlington, Texas) had his most successful collegiate season in his senior year of 2012, when he finished fifth on the team with 47 tackles (37 solo), added three interceptions for 66 yards, while setting a school-record with 17 pass break-ups, in 11 starts. Unamba also blocked two punts in his final season at Southern Arkansas. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams following the 2013 NFL Draft before being released on June 14th. Since then he moved on to another tryout with Buffalo but was released in August 2013. Benning (6-0, 180, Texas State, January 1, 1991, in The Colony, Texas) played his college football at Texas State University. In 2012, Benning recorded 32 tackles and 3 passes defended for the Bobcats as a regular defender. As a junior in 2011, he recorded 15 tackles and three pass breakups.

You asked, man. I thought you honestly didn't know.

Flory's statement reeked of "rookie move." This is not going to end well for the PA.

Buck Pierce was Buck Pierce 10 years ago

Not trying to defend Pavelec, but that was not a typical "third period with a lead". The Jets were thoroughly dominated and couldn't get the puck out to save their lives. Pavelec takes his share of the blame but that was a total team collapse without question.

Team totally fell apart

John Beck, Chris Hart, Jarrett Lee. No CFL experience outside of Hart's time on the BC PR, but Lee and Beck are both interesting in their own ways.
-
I completely agree with you, but still feel that Pavelec may be lacking. I would be willing to keep him around for another year though. This team was just starting to come around before Scheifele got injured (and I believe that was a HUGE blow, and the inability to replace him speaks to the lack of depth the organization still has). Pavelec deserves a chance with a better team in front of him, but I would still be looking to upgrade if the opportunity presented itself. He is only making 1.8 million, but he is also an RFA after this season. And he is sporting a .908 Save Pct. along with a 3.39 GAA this year... I wouldn't count on him being any better than Pavs.

From what I have observed over the years, most CFL coaching staffs won't be scared off by his lack of production/play-time in the CIS... in fact, CIS production has been shown to have very little impact on draft position. It seems to me that most CFL teams just want the best athletes and believe that they can coach them up into real football players. I'm predicting second round for Thibault.

Actually Brink is with Montreal currently.

Hall is a far better QB and I find it shocking that anyone could disagree. It is not even debatable, IMO. And I don't even like Hall that much.

How do you know it's the people going to the stadium who are doing the bitching? I feel like it's the people who never leave their house who are the ones whining and crying about everything.

OMG if the Vikings get Manziel I will just die. That would be awesome. Great mock, that was a good read.

Rumour: Jets/Isles to Deal on Draft Day?
Atomic replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
It's too easy to paint everybody with the same brush like that. It's very frustrating to watch him take wrist shots from just inside the blue line on a nightly basis. He has the skill level to be one of the best in the NHL, but he's not close. I'm not advocating to trade him just for the sake of trading him though. If we can't get a big haul, I wouldn't do it. Every goal scorer does that though. You can't score a goal if you don't put the puck on net and unless you expect guys to carry a huge shooting percentage like Stamkos not every shot is going to score. Like I said, guys who score 30 goals in the NHL are not that common and Kane is one of them at a young age. Be satisfied with what he is and don't expect him to be a super star. You're making it too black-and-white, as usual. Kane is particularly bad for this. With his natural talent, if he would simply put a little effort into learning the game and beating guys with his mind rather than just his body, he COULD be a superstar. That's what's so frustrating. Brett Hull used to say he was a good goal-scorer until he took the time to really understand the game... and that's when he became a GREAT goal scorer. No one is denying that Kane is a useful player and certainly one of the most dangerous offensive threats on the Jets. It's just that he could be so much more. Enough with the "Jets fans should just be grateful for what they have" mentality. What a loser way of thinking. Come down from your ivory tower in Calgary and realize that Jets fans are just like any other fans, they want their players to perform to their maximum potential. -
I'm not sure, I don't think I'd be upset either way. I'd still like to see Carlyle here, despite what's gone on in Toronto. I think we have a better roster than Toronto and Carlyle could take us to the playoffs if Chevy does a reasonable job in the offseason.

No chance. Can I interest you in Bogosian for Hall and Gagner?

MLSE can't buy an NFL team... it would have to be Ted Rogers himself. Corporations can't own NFL teams.
-
That's for sure

I saw this on Twitter but don't understand why people are freaking out. Who's he...? College star, former second round NFL draft pick. Great athlete but didn't make it in the NFL.
