  1. I'll hold out on judgment on that one. Riders got two Canadians including their punter and a good special teamer. We got a guy who may or may not ever start for us, and certainly won't be chasing down kicks on special teams.
  2. Bear WoodsSo they're as desperate for a MLB as we are.Mtl has Bear Woods and who do the Bombers have exactly ?Which team would be the more desperate ? I was assuming Bear Woods is some bum. I've never heard of him. Is he any good? Hard to say. He's been with Montreal for a year (or more?) but hasn't seen a whole lot of action.
  3. Lolololol way to post in the wrong thread bro
  4. Bear Woods
  5. Good luck getting Tyler Holmes out of Toronto. IMO he will be starting for them this year.
  6. Could be an okay backup... right now the first man up behind Watson and Kohlert is a toss up between three untested young guys. However Jackson passed his best-before date about three years ago so I'm not sure there is much point. Maybe for some leadership on the offensive side of the ball.
  7. Eskimos release S Donovan Alexander. Any interest? Maybe cut Cauchy and bring in Alexander at a lower price...
  8. The last time these three got together was in 2009-10 with the Riders. They went to the Grey Cup two years in a row, John Chick and Stevie Baggs were 1-2 in the league in sacks ('09), James Patrick had 9 interceptions in one season ('10), and Barrin Simpson led the league in tackles ('10). We could do a lot worse.
  9. Well he did put up 1342 yards and 12 touchdowns in an absolutely horrid receiving corps in 2010. Ralph, Hargreaves, TJH/Chris Davis/Jamayel Smith, and Adarius Bowman back when he couldn't catch. Edwards was our only consistent threat and other teams knew it... and he still burned them every game.
  10. There's nothing racist about his tweets.
  11. why does this need a contest his name is obviously redblack jack
  12. I've come to the conclusion that Kels is plugged into a different league than the rest of us. Some sort of parallel universe where all the names are the same but everything else is completely backwards.
  13. They play in Winnipeg in the first game of their regular season, not pre-season.
  14. Apparently Bob Mitchell covers the Argos and Leafs for the Toronto Star.
  15. I'm also wondering what has become of Brett Carter. The odd thing about MSW is if it is so sure he cannot play, why is he still on the roster? Seems strange.
  16. Awesome!
  17. I'm really hoping Mike Sims-Walker comes back. Sims-Walker, Moore, Denmark, Watson, Kohlert is actually looking like a really good receiving corps.
  18. Ottawa could use a guy like TJ Hill. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he lands there.
  19. No chance, he's 34. Sounds like he just didn't fit in with Chris Jones' plans.
  20. I don't see where he would fit in here. He's a SAM/nickel guy and we already have Korey Banks and Desia Dunn there. Pass.
  21. Goodbye Terrence! You were a bright spot on some terrible teams and a consummate pro!!! http://www.bluebombers.com/article/edwards-announces-retirement
  22. That's just crazy. Assistant coaches come to the CFL from the NCAA every year. Never said assistant coaches don't come to the CFL from the NCAA - but they aren't coming directly from the NCAA to be an assistant coach here. They may have been in the NCAA in the past at various points in their lives (See Gary Crowton who had been out of the NCAA for awhile), but the assistant coaches there make more money in a year than assistants here will make in a very long time. Still not true. For example, Will Plemons came here directly from Fresno State, a Division 1 FBS school, where he was the DL coach for 3 seasons, to become the DL coach here. And that's just one example. There are plenty more.
  23. The Argos released Marcus Ball yesterday, apparently to pursue the NFL. Jim Barker has not been reluctant to release players who feel like they have an NFL shot, whereas other GMs such as Austin with Chris Williams have taken a hard line against releasing players to tryout in the NFL. Barker's rationale is that he will have an easier time signing players if they know they can get out of the deal early to try the NFL. Other GMs have said things like "If I do it for this guy, I'll have 30 other guys knocking on my door asking me to do it for them." In other words, they do not want it to snowball and cause them to lose all their good players early. What do you think? Which side is taking the smarter approach? Should they just bring back the option year? It's been kinda nice not having it the last few years, from a fan perspective at least.
  24. Except Austin didn't come back until he was HC and GM. Didn't he turn down the Riders when they offered him the HC position a couple years ago? Sure but that's two completely different cases. Kent Austin left as a champion. Barrett left after 7 mediocre seasons with no Grey Cup appearances.
