  1. Can't win em all?? ... Can't win any!
  2. Gee I wonder what that could be
  3. Don't get too sick yet, it's only going to get worse on Feb 11 when Drew Willy and Henoc sign elsewhere.
  4. I can save the CFL a lot of trouble by telling them right now what day Feb 15 falls on next year. But it will cost them.
  5. Like it was suddenly a surprise that Feb 15 is a Saturday.
  6. We only have 3 Canadian surefire starters under contract for 2014 (Watson, Greaves, Morley). Scary, isn't it? If we don't have tons of money to spend, that is gross mismanagement of the roster. Most teams have 7-10 Canadians who can start and that's where you should be dropping the bulk of your cash... a QB and your top Canadians. Paying good money for Henry Burris should have zero impact on our ability to sign free agents.
  7. Bomber fans have demonstrated time and time again that they do not have the patience required to develop a new qb.Right, it's the fans' fault... You saying that this team hasn't made knee jerk reactions because fans in the city are growing restless? Even while this team has been god awful for most of the last 6 years, the fans have continued to show up in record numbers. You can't blame the fans for this.

  9. I thought he retired last year
  10. If there are other teams legitimately involved in the bidding for Burris, then we won't get him. Looks like it is going to be Neiswander vs. Hall for the starting spot. Let's all just go kill ourselves now.
  11. which were the qbs he wanted. That's not true, Burke wanted Glenn but Mack wouldn't pull the trigger
  12. http://blogs.theprovince.com/2014/01/29/trade-winds-blowing-for-banks/
  13. Cam Cole ‏@rcamcole Nov 12 Hey, #CFL readers: salary I quoted for Troy Smith y/day was 2012 NFL dough. He's making a ton less than that in Montreal. #cancelredalert
  14. That article says he made $525k! That's crazy. I didn't even know the National Post had a sports section.
  15. Someone show that picture to Zach Collaros and tell him if he signs with the Ticats he'll be playing at some high school field for the whole season.
  16. I don't care how muddy it was, if it didn't have a manhole in the middle of the field it can't be the absolute worst.
  17. Smith made $400k last season. Where are you getting these numbers?
  18. Can't be worse than the last bunch of losers? Seriously the average fan doesn't know crap about anything. I don't think the average fan even knows who our coordinators are, let alone holds an opinion on them.
  19. It is amazing what progress he has made over the course of half a season. The sky is the limit for Scheife the Knife.
  20. I still think we have a shot. He's obviously not opposed to coming here. Agreed, but if the money is equal, you have to think he chooses Hamilton due to their season they had last year compared to ours. I'm not trying to be negative, but that really seems like the only realistic viewpoint. If we're going to get Collaros, we're going to have to beat Hamilton's offer, and probably by a decent amount. As for Burris, what does Hamilton do now if they lose out on Collaros? Kinda awkward to bring back Burris now.
  21. Well Nelson Martin coached Hamilton's secondary in 2012 so you know he's good
  22. Not at all. Some fans here feel that way, but I guarantee the average fan would be thrilled to hear we've acquired a veteran QB like Burris, 38 years old or not.
  23. Anyone hoping for the Bombers to improve their OL through free agency can probably let go of that dream at this point. Unless you're naive enough to believe Josh Bourke is going to make it to free agency or any of the remaining duds on the market can start on the Bomber OL.
  24. Why? Because you say so? lol I don't get why you feel like when someone else has a point they're making, you're the first one to demand source materials or some kind of proof but you just think it's okay that your argument can be "because I say so" Burris isn't hitting free agency because he's a hot commodity that will instigate a bidding war. If he hits free agency, it's because the team that had him doesn't want him. It's the same as with any player who is declined an offer by their old team. They don't hit the open market with much, if any, leverage to command whatever they want. Burris will still have all the leverage. Because if Collaros is already off the market, the Bombers have no options for a starting QB other than Burris, unless they are really willing to roll the dice on Willy or Hall. And after last season, everyone knows the Bombers do not want to run the risk of another quarterback disaster. Burris could easily just retire. He will be able to squeeze the Bombers for every penny, no question. No chance, the ego is too great. He'll play at a lower salary rather than retire. No chance, the ego is too great. He'll retire before playing for anything less than a starter's salary.
