Randall never really got a good shot here... sewered by Mike Kelly's atrocious offense. He had some hype as the third string in 2008, and came in and made the team in 2009 as Stefan LeFors' backup. He made his first appearance in game 3 after LeFors got injured and went 2/5 with a pick. The next week was at home against Toronto, and maybe one of the worst offensive performances I've ever seen. LeFors was pulled after going 7/11 for 30 yards and a pick... Randall came in and went 1/5 with a pick, followed by Richie Williams going 3/10. Michael Bishop was airlifted in the next week and actually got us the victory. Randall stuck around until September but never saw the field again... he was released after the Bombers traded for Ricky Santos.

To expand on the above, Cato was playing on the Richmond Roughriders but was replaced as starter by former Bombers QB Bryan Randall. Noted domestic abuser Greg Hardy also plays for the Roughriders.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mathews here. I'm not a huge fan of his but he is a smart QB at least and could be trusted to run the offence for a short period in Nichols' absence. I think he would be good competition for Alex Ross.

Minnesota's child care program is being defrauded to the tune of $100 million that is possibly ending up in the hands of terrorists in Somalia and the Middle East: https://www.twincities.com/2018/05/15/child-daycare-fraud-cash-going-to-terrorists-lets-unpack-this/

I think Chevy will find a way to make it work. He seems to be doing a pretty good job. But we will inevitably start to lose good players.

My original post was in reference to political activism being a career limiting move, not whether it is morally right or not. And that point still stands.

I don't see how any of those people's careers were helped by those decisions.

Lots of misinformation in this post, especially the fact that Medicare doesn't negotiate drug prices. Read this for a more balanced take: https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2018/05/14/the-trump-plan-to-reduce-prescription-drug-prices-will-have-a-major-impact/#4759b462691f

I'm curious if the Durant shitstorm has left us with any additional cap room. I know we're out 70k... and we still have to pay a backup QB but the total salary is likely much less than Durant's. Say the new backup salary is 120k less than Durant's, then that gives us 50k to play with. Some funny math no doubt, but the general idea being we may have a few bucks to throw at a stud like Bighill.
-
Could be difficult given their salary, production and contract details. Little is also under a No-Move clause until after 2020, which then becomes a modified no-trade. Perreault is under a modified no-trade as well.

OK I'll get back to you in 20 years.

At this point I'm confident Demski, Wolitarsky, and Simonise will be on the opening day roster. Thera-Plamondon and Tyrone Pierre are pretty much exclusively special teams guys (but could make the roster as the fourth NI receiver based on that). LaFrance may factor into the receiver picture at times, meaning we only dress one backup NI receiver. Petermann and Henry could both use some practice roster time, IMO.

I don't see any way we can afford to keep Wheeler unfortunately.
-
No way he gets 8M. That's too high.
-
It works in our favour that Trouba doesn't put up big numbers. You can question the value of points totals in determining how good a defenceman plays but it still plays a huge role in contract negotiations.
-
Love seeing this. I wonder what the price tag will be? 6 mil? More? Less? Defencemen salaries are hard to predict.

Round 3 - Game 2: Golden Knights at Jets

Buff was the only one that actually saw what was going on and tried to get back into the play.... really bad change by all five guys on the ice and bruuuuutal giveaway by KC -
As if Israel is the only issue here. It's not like Palestinians are eager to get back to the negotiating table. Let's not forget Camp David. There are two sides at play and neither one seems eager for a resolution. And both sides are guilty of widespread violence against the other.
-
You can't really argue that it wasn't a poor decision for his career.
-
Yeah... Even I found it a little distasteful. However the "fair Middle East peace agreement" is a pipe dream. It's been long enough that I think we can all see that's never going to happen.

Round 3 - Game 2: Golden Knights at Jets

Just another one of those games. It's tough at this point and if you ain't on, you ain't winning. I'm not worried. -
I would disagree. People have been dying in droves in Palestine for years because no president was willing to commit to a resolution. Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital moves them closer to resolving the conflict. The dream of a two state solution is dying. Unfortunately change brings conflict and conflict brings violence. But decades of fence sitting by previous presidents did nothing but extend the deadlock. Trump deserves credit for a actually taking steps towards a resolution, even if it's not resolution you'd like. Did you ever really think the issues in Israel and Palestine were going to be resolved peacefully?
-
Oh now every person who dies in Israel and Palestine is Trump's fault? That's a reach.

Well that settles it. Enstrom has to come out of the lineup now that Jan Kostalek is available.
