Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL
Atomic replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
How so? Contact sports could still go on. We would just understand the risks better. -
Game 52 : Golden Nugget @ Golden Boy

No but to say we have to prove we can beat the best teams when we've already beat them... there's nothing to prove. -
Game 52 : Golden Nugget @ Golden Boy

Well... we've already beat the best teams... including this one. -
Brilliant work by Maurice, another masterpiece
-
He has his own dedicated recurring section on Botchamania called Cena Talks too Much for this very reason.
-
I noticed that too. My thoughts exactly. True. And that makes me wonder why Cena and Roman were surprised by the reaction. WWE obviously booked it that way to get the crowd all pissed off before Nak's win. They had to know Philly would boo Cena/Roman relentlessly.

Kinda makes sense with Trouba and Kulikov out to move Morrissey and Myers together. Then you can leave Buff with Enstrom and ... ugh... the return of the Chiarot - Poolman line. Good luck to that pairing against the Lightning.
-
That was the best PPV I have seen in years. Fantastic. I have no complaints whatsoever. OK maybe they could have left out Vickie Guerrero.
-
It doesn't work that way. The NFL won't sign players under contract in the CFL but that's as far as it goes. There is no rule or law against NFL teams talking to players under contract in the CFL.
-
Hellebuyck really improved his game. We have three solid d-pairings and Chiarot/Poolman are a decent 7-8. The young guys are growing up. Armia, Lowry and Scheifele are 24... Copp is 23. Our veterans like Wheeler, Little and Perreault are all in their prime. I really do think it's a bit of a perfect storm. This team is very, very good and there is no guarantee that they will be better next year so we have to go for it now.

I just came up with a new term. WWMO'SD What Would Mike O'Shea Do? That's mine, I created it.
-
The option still exists, it's just only on the team side... the player can't exercise any option. Which is silly because teams can void contracts at any time, whether there is an option or not. But I'm sure it has some kind of fine-print legal implication.

Word is Chevy is looking for a top six forward, preferably a centre.
-
With Mason's condition as it is, that would make no sense whatsoever. Not happening.
-
Easier said than done. Not every business is willing to accommodate someone who can only work six months a year.
-
Kessel uses that line too. I think it's just self-deprecating humor.
-
Yeah for sure.

Just roster juggling. Hutch will be back up after the all-star break and likely starting on Tuesday. The Moose play tonight and tomorrow so I expect they wanted to get Hutch into one or both of those games so he isn't rusty for the Tuesday start.
-
Ehlers is terrible on the breakaway and IIRC has never scored in the shootout... though I don't think he's had many attempts
-
Probably... but he could also sustain a career ending injury during that year and the CFL will just say "sorry bout that kid, have a nice life." There's risk on both paths.

No I wouldn't. I consistently take the player's side in these situations. Football players get a rough deal.
-
Just give the guy a raise or release him. I don't blame him for not wanting to put his body on the line for 56k. He showed he's worth more than that... if they're not willing to pay, then they should release him and let him take his NFL shot. Clearly he won't be with the team either way without getting a raise so refusing to release him is just spiteful. Coaches and GMs are allowed out of their contracts to pursue better opportunities. Teams cut players and end their contracts. The only ones who don't get to walk away from contracts are the players and they are the ones taking all the risk.
