  1. So you'd rather go with the 2 playoff game sample size than the 36 game regular season sample size. That's how bad decisions get made. And we all know how the defence stacks up. Near the bottom in limiting yards, near the top in generating turnovers. And the team is is 23-13 over the last two seasons so to suggest they can't win with this defence is simply incorrect.
  2. Coming off their best season in 15 years but ok
  3. AHL goalies usually don't have more value than NHL goalies
  4. Ricky was a great QB prospect and I wish we had kept him in 2010. He deserved a chance. Instead we cut him and traded for Alex Brink. Bah!
  5. There's a young guy in Calgary who is a free agent.... Maleki Harris. He mostly played special teams 2015-16 but he got into some games on defence this past season and looked really good, IMO. Some injury concerns but he's only 25... I'd like to bring him in for a look. Reap the rewards of Calgary's development.
  6. I didn't think it was better than Omega/Okada and I don't mean to rag on that match at all... but I also don't think a match needs to be an hour to be great, or to have a bunch of crazy spots... I think an all-out brawl when used correctly can be extremely effective. WM33 was the perfect end to the Goldberg/Lesnar feud. They absolutely nailed it. But whatever... no reason to argue about it. You'll have your opinion and I'll have mine. When I read or listen to Meltzer, I see someone very "jaded" on the industry. Can't blame him, when he's been a part of it for decades, but it really shows. I probably won't be able to watch Omega/Y2J until the weekend... hopefully I can find it online somewhere. But I will certainly post my thoughts. I expect it to be great.
  7. He gave Lesnar/Goldberg a 3.5 at Wrestlemania 33. Absolutely he is biased. That is just absurd. If it's not a bunch of indie guys doing flip-de-doos it's not getting a good rating, end of story.
  8. Anyone with any degree of common sense knew this was going to happen.
  9. Yeah he looked like he is still injured on the breakaway.
  10. Bang on? It's totally subjective in most cases. Sure sometimes you get a legit incredible match like Omega-Okada but I've seen him **** on some really good WWE matches, seemingly just because it's WWE. If a WWE match doesn't involve an "indies guy" like Styles or Nakamura, Meltzer is going to give it a bad review. There's really not much more to it than that.
  11. Yeah I considered Myers there as well. I think that could be a good fit. But it's also concerning to have all your best players stapled to the bench in OT... Wheeler, Laine, Byfuglien... but maybe the situation just dictates it.
  12. Little-Ehlers-Morrissey, Lowry-Armia-Byfuglien? Two good combinations of scoring punch and possession ability.
  13. Wouldn't mind seeing Glenn back here. Our backup situation turned out to be not so great towards the end of the year.
  14. Missed tackles and those big breakdowns where a receiver has no defender anywhere near him. Way too many of those plays.
  15. Every team gives up lots of high quality chances in OT. That's just the way 3v3 is played right now. Maybe it is more often for the Jets... but maybe not.
  16. Is it? I was going to say it's a nice mix of youth and experience. It was important that Mike Sherman bring in CFL guys and he's done that.
  17. Did he lose his mojo after leaving Toronto? His 2015 season in Hamilton was pretty remarkable, although it was only 12 games.
  18. Never said it was impossible to overcome. They are simply challenges. Every constraint placed on the schedule makes it harder to create. You'd still be dealing with a 3 hour time difference for Calgary and Edmonton too.
  19. Good move for Sask. Their new starting QB for a second round pick. He will bounce back.
  20. Me me me!!!
  21. There would be some logistical challenges with Halifax. There are no direct flights from Halifax to BC but if they could charter a plane it is still a seven hour flight. If Halifax is playing BC at home at 7 pm, in Vancouver it will be 3 pm. Likewise if Halifax plays at 7 pm in BC, it will be 11 pm back home. Bad for the fans and bad for the players who basically have to play in the middle of the night. It's not just a coincidence that the Eastern teams have always struggled in BC... even when Montreal was good. Obviously Halifax would only deal with the BC issue twice a year but the problem would still be there for the other Western teams, just to a lesser extent. Is there enough real interest in Halifax? Is there anyone that will own the team and support it and not abandon it at the first sign of trouble? Is it really worth it to expand to Halifax just for sentimental reasons?
  22. No push ever happens "on its own".
  23. Because he is damn good in the ring and he is built like a Greek god. The fans are starting to come around on Roman (Reigns vs Joe was incredible last night) and they'll come around on Jordan too. It's not like he is being cast as a face right now. His character, the whiny entitled son, is one that is easy to hate and I'm sure WWE knows this. They are setting something up. But 2018 might just be the Year of Jason Jordan.
  24. Yeah I also heard of a law in some state where they can pay you less than minimum wage if you don't work 40 hours a week, so some unscrupulous business owners were making 39.5 hour schedules for their employees. I don't know if that is still a law.
  25. Yeah Colorado is the "weak link" in the Central division and they still have a .500 record and a positive goal differential. Tough divvy. 6 points in 23 games for Duchene since he arrived. 18 points in 23 games for Turris in Nashville. Oh yeah the Sens also gave up their first rounder this year, their 3rd rounder in 2019, Andrew Hammond, and Shane Bowers who was their first round pick in 2017. Disastrous trade.
