  1. Matthias-Lowry-Armia were never dominant and Copp-Lowry-Tanev have been scoring at a great pace for a 3rd line over the last ten games or so. I mean yeah I'd like to see Armia get more opportunity. For sure. But why break up that third line now when they are playing their best hockey?
  2. Matthias is only 3 years removed from an 18 goal season. Seems hard to imagine now, watching him play so far this season. He's good but Perreault is better. That's really all there is to it.
  3. Copp, Perreault, Matthias, and Dano have all played center. Roslovic, Petan, and Sgarbossa on the farm. Lots of depth.
  4. I think people overestimate how good Roslovic will be when he makes the jump. Yeah, he's a very good prospect and he's doing well in the AHL... but Brendan Lemieux is scoring at the same pace. And Lemieux isn't jumping into our top six any time soon. The list of guys who have been great scorers in the AHL only to do nothing in the NHL is a long one. Roslovic will likely be a good player for the Jets but I think people should just pump the brakes a little bit.
  5. Kind of unexpected but I don't hate it... I'm not a big fan of Wheeler at centre to be honest but I'm willing to see how it goes. I don't get why they would put Matthias in over Dano. Matthias is going to be gone next year, Dano at least is still young with potential. Put him in the lineup already. I'm not even a huge Dano fan but geez what is going on there.
  6. Manziel has been approved by the commish. Can't wait to see him in the CFL, whether he is a stud or a dud, it will be entertaining as hell.
  7. I like it. Petan is going to be an RFA after this season and it would be nice to get a legitimate look at him as a top six player in the NHL. But like Frosty says, Petan has been playing on the wing. Then again so has Perreault and he is probably the first choice to be Scheifele's replacement in the top six. They need someone good on draws and who can play the power play. Petan and Perreault can both do that. My only worry would be Petan's defensive game and how he would fare in our own end.
  8. To be fair our defence absolutely did steal a couple games for us this past season.
  9. Looked like either that or a separated shoulder. I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 4-8 weeks.
  10. They're saying the outdoor game might be moved inside if it doesn't warm up a bit. I'm excited to see how Canada matches up with the US.
  11. Great game for Armia 1.0. So who replaces Scheif? Roslovic straight to the top line, or maybe Perreault to the top line and bring up Lemieux? Or does one of Dano or Matthias get another kick at the can? Decisions, decisions...
  12. Not if the team is winning. Let's not forget we've gone 23-13 over the past two seasons even with the porous defence. No one gets fired mid season if we're winning.
  13. I believe O'Shea will be back if they win a playoff game next year and he will be gone if they don't. Everything else doesn't really matter and won't factor into the decision.
  14. You think you can suck me back in but little do you know I have ascended to a higher plane of consciousness and these petty squabbles no longer concern me
  15. US looks really good but I have a hard time saying Canada can't beat them. Canada has a pretty good team. I think they made a couple bizarre choices on who to keep and who not to keep but still a very strong team.
  16. I think they're just tired. This was a crazy stretch. They will come back better after the break.
  17. I think the best is yet to come for Collaros.
  18. Kurt Warner? Was he not the starter the entire season when the Rams won the Super Bowl? Other examples seem fair. But I wouldn't say their success was due to getting reps in practice. Brady took over early and Dilfer and Bradshaw both had incredible teams around them. You make a good point about quarterbacks going down temporarily and needing a backup to carry the mail for a bit.
  19. True but how many teams have really succeeded when their starter has gone down, whether the backup was getting reps or not? If your starter is out for the season, you're not winning the championship, regardless of the league. I can't recall any backup QB ever winning a Grey Cup or Super Bowl but maybe someone can school me on that.
  20. Yep, I was going to say, he looked exhausted by the end of the game. Needs some rest. He's going 100mph for over 20 minutes a night.
  21. You don't think Hutch will be back in the NHL? When I say soon enough I mean within a year. Probably never play for the Jets again but he will play for an NHL team next year.
  22. Going on 12 years for Jovon. Incredible longevity for a CFL cornerback.
  23. That takes balls.
  24. Good for him. I imagine he must have been pretty good in the meeting room to last as long as he did as a professional. Because he was **** on the field.
  25. Are we talking about troops here? Because the only way I see war happening with DPRK is if they launch something at the US... in which case the result isn't an American invasion of North Korea. It's a carpet-bomb annihilation. I don't see any scenario where USA occupies North Korea.
