  1. Just to rundown the names of the newcomers currently listed on the roster. HB/CB Adams, Johnny Miller, Sam Van Dyke, David DB/LB (SAM?) Lyn, Keon Bryant, Jarrid Lynn, Gabe Wright, Demetrius DE Oxendine, Justin Johnson, Derrell DT Collins, Nate LB Bass, Khalil Benton, Shamari Nixon, TraShaun Lamar, Rodney OG Griffiths, Thomas Everett, Quinn OT Mims, David Sanders, Zebrie RB Scott, Da'Rel Randle, Bradley REC Hector, Derrick Goard, Tyrone Montgomery, Kashif Clemons, Toney Ja'mes Logan? Goodrich, Kurt Reaves, Jordan I think it's a very good list so far and added some guys on the IR/PR last year, there's a good chance some of the incumbent will be in tough (replaced on the starting roster, traded or get released).
  2. I won't be surprised if the Stamps will gave up their 1st rounder for Linden Gaydosh.
  3. Derrell Johnson, OLB, East Carolina (HT: 6’1 1/2”, WT: 260 lbs.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP0Tt8eA5sM#t=11 Positives Well-built with proper bulk. Plays with great balance and pad level. Quick first step off the ball from multiple defensive stances. Active and strong with his hands in all facets of his game. Has a plan as a pass-rusher and doesn't waste steps coming off the ball. Powerful beyond his means as a rusher due to leverage and ability to convert speed to power. Uses his hands well to ward off blockers after he gets into a gap. Has potential as a blitzer due to effectiveness splitting gaps and using explosiveness. Gets off blocks well despite lack of length. Maintains gap integrity by positioning himself well against blocks and finding the football early. Plays with high effort level in pursuit. Noted as a hard worker in the weight room and conditioning program at ECU. Experience in multiple defensive fronts. Negatives Severe lack of length, with arms right around 30”. Very little experience in pass coverage. Limited mover in terms of dropping from the line of scrimmage; must play downhill. Stiff hips limit coverage potential and ceiling of his athleticism. Easily negated if a pass-blocker gets his hands on the frame of Johnson. Not enough variance to his pass-rush moves; limited by short arms. Doesn't have great long speed to finish around the corner or close in the open field. Doesn't break down in space as a tackler and will miss on occasion. Lacks great range in pursuit to chase down ball-carriers. Little power as a tackler to quickly get ball-carriers to the ground. Not remarkably productive for a small-conference pass-rusher. May not clearly have a best position as a professional. Collegiate Statistics Year Team Tackles TFL Sacks 2010 ECU 40 4.5 1 2011 ECU 39 5.5 3 2012 ECU 62 11 6.5 2013 ECU 79 13 7 Personal Notes 2012 second team All-Conference USA. 2013 second team All-Conference USA. Four-year starter for the Pirates; switched from end to outside linebacker when defensive scheme changed in 2011 season. East-West Shrine Game participant. Overall Derrell Johnson turned in a solid senior season, headlined by fine showings against Virginia Tech and North Carolina. He has shown some stellar traits through the process. He’s a physical specimen in terms of build and raw power. That plays into his functional strength as a defender who always has leverage on blockers. He’s also active with his hands. His ability to become a better player than he is now is the biggest question mark. As a pass-rush specialist who lacks optimal height and length, he may only be able to go so far. His unique height-weight build could mean trouble at a traditional linebacker position. Defenses that employ a 3-4 scheme should be interested in Johnson’s services as a depth player. Contributions on special teams will be very important for Johnson as an NFL player. source: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2034026-derrell-johnson-nfl-draft-2014-highlights-scouting-report-more
  4. Jets = White Out Bombers = Blue Out Works for me.
  5. Jets 1.0 White Out started it all. White Out it is.
  6. I hope this guy will be taught how to slide. congrats to Buck & wife!
  7. I'm expecting a bounce back year from Vega. I think (hope) his problems last year were due to playing hurt.He had turf toe most of last season but says he's 100% now.
  8. Has anyone mentioned this ? Kashif Montgomery signed with BlueBombers? The news is from February 10. http://pawtuckettimes.com/content/central-falls-athletics-northern-exposure-montgomery-signs-deal-cfls-winnipeg-blue-bombers
  9. We need to upgrade our pass rushers. I'm OK with our projected starting DTs - Bryant and Anderson but we need depth there both NI & IMP.

  11. This is too late for April Fools news.
  12. Kirk Penton @PentonKirk Here's a note about an unannounced #Bombers signing. #CFL http://ht.ly/L2M1I http://citadelsports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1322
  13. If he's undrafted, I think we should pick him and convert him as a receiver and we can use him how the Stamps used Sinopoli on some schemes.
  14. He stands 6'5" and weighs 215 lbs. Could be a FB for the Bombers.
  15. It might also be fairly easy to draw him back here after his first contract is up on another team. That's actually why I think we should draft someone else. Let Demski go through his growing pains/development into a pro on another team. Try to get him back here after. Yep, I like this strategy. If that's that easy then I hope we can get Coombs after his first contract.
  16. It's pretty obvious that we are going with 2 import tackles this year with the pickup of Bryant, Dile plus Daniels, Tyler and Mims. Personally I would love to have 4 non-imports on OL but it looks like the trend right now is 2-imp/3-non-imp OL. We have 6 (or 7) bodies available now for the 3 position inside with Picard, Greaves, Neufeld, Goossen, Morley, Everett and Griffith. Plus if we need a 4th NI OL it should be a guy who can play tackle on the CFL level. From what I read the tackle type players on the last rankings are Boyko, Groulx, Ruby and Guy. Boyko is a future pick. Groulx will probably fall on that category depending on the NFL interest and I honestly think he will be like Matt Sewell. Ruby and Guy will probably fall on the 2nd-3rd round. I think, Walters will not spend his #2 overall for a future pick and our Canadian content is not there yet to gamble our #2 overall for a future pick.
  17. I don't really read Doug Brown's column. Don't like it.
  18. Same thoughts I have. A very good negotiator though. Let's see if how that works on Argo's stadium problem which will be his first major concern.
  19. Mike Kelly
  20. Huff saw a value in Shomari. Some people here dont.
  21. They don't need two import tailbacks unless one of them serves another purpose (a fullback type, a kick returner, etc) Bombers don't have a single NI RB on the roster. That tells me the Bombers are leaning on playing 2 imports RB.... unless they pickup Tyler Varga or Nic Demski (played some RB) on the draft.
  22. Martell Mallett is a free-agent. He is no longer on Stamps' roster. If the Bombers have any interest on him, they should have picked him up already.
  23. Technically Sheets is still under contract with Oakland as of today. NFL free agency will start tomorrow I believe.
  24. If Sheets comes here he will be the primary back, he's proven.
  25. Cotton and Sheets will be a good combo
