Looks like there will be some good options for the Bombers OC
-
I think Walters should bid for any of these 3 Zaleski, Fortin or Matechuk. We need an LS and its a high-priority .

I'm with the Demski for the 2nd overall camp. Pick OLs on the 11th and the 20th. If the Bombers really need to shore up the OL for next year's campaign, we need a vet or 2, who can play right away.

Would you know until when is Lirim's existing contract? I think they need to extend him for a number of years too. Willy, Lirim and Stoudermire.... Those are Walters guys. Nice!

I think convincing Etch to show the playbook to the D will go along ways. although I'm not sure how many pages it contains

how 'bout ... Dyce as Passing Game Coordinator Gibson as Running Game Coordinator instead of keeping Bellefuile

I can see BC, Ottawa and Toronto. But Sask, I believe is happy with Chamblin, plus Cortez might bolt if they change HC.

Desjardins might be interested and he doesnt care if he overpays.

Trestman's NFL time ending it looks like

I think Bears biggest problem is on the D. Poor coaching? Poor schemes? Lack of discipline? -
I'll tell you right now, the Bombers would be prepared to give Milanovich a HC salary to be their OC. He'll consider $$$ offers to escape the dumpster fire in Toronto. Same $$$ range for less responsibility (OC), I think that's a good offer. Are the Bombers thinking to get Burke the DC back here also?

Tom Higgins to return as Als head coach in 2015
M.O.A.B. replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think Walters is well aware of this based on his comments on H&L yesterday. He basically said a successful long term strategy is to draft 2 OLineman each draft. One early that can compete with the team this year and one later that can develop and come back the following year. Unfortunately you can't magically fix an O-Line over night. Amazing how fast Drowsy Joe Mack took it apart two years ago. That was like, two days. Lost Labatte & Picard. Now it takes years to rebuild. You gotta stop acting like we actually had Picard when Mack was here. He was never on this team when Mack was here. Never mind that Picard isn't the difference between a good OL and a bad OL either. As per Walters his approach is to draft 1 OL on first 2 rounds and at least 1 on the later rounds. The first picked OL is expected to compete and make the roster (eg. Goossen) The later pick(s) will be sent back to school to develop (eg. Everett) I wouldn't say its a winning formula but it's a lot better than not having any formula at all (Mack) -
They might have an opening for OC there but I'm not sure if he has ties with Higgins, who will be his head coach if he comes back there.
-
Very nice to hear. I wasn't sure if he was playing DL or OL this year. Chris Greaves 2.0 I like to see he's excelling in his limited time as a guard.. Can't remember if Greaves played a season in university as an o-liner or not... Regardless, getting those extra snaps means he's that much ahead of the curve when he lands here full time.. Does anyone know where he lined up this season? (Everett, not Greaves) from this shot, he's manning the RG spot. #51

If Trestman becomes available, I wonder if Marcel Desjardins will make a pitch to bring him back to the CFL. This GM spends like there's a fountain of cash inside the RedBlack's basement. -
Starting 3 Canadian receivers next season?
M.O.A.B. replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They count as territorial exemption, only the Bombers can first sign them. If they sign with the Bombers and then cut eventually, they will count as free agents. -

Key point. Goodrich is as good of a prospect as Demski in terms of talent. He could be a very good CFL player. I like JFG and Kohlert, I don't think Watson has enough good plays left in him to be a main target. Probably the best territorial exemption we've had a chance at since I can remember. Equivalent of an additional first rounder in the CFL Draft, in my opinion. The fellows whose knowledge I defer to because they are infinitely more familiar with amateur football in this province said he was the second best receiving talent to come out of Manitoba behind Demski. How much of that is hyperbole? Couldn't say, but I certainly would not be in a position to argue with them. So it certainly sounds like we'd potentially be landing the equivalent of a free first round pick if we pulled something like that off. But he's not on our roster yet. Goodrich was given a chance earlier this year, and if not for an injury, would be on the roster instead of Carter. Expect Goodrich again next Bombers TC. -

Which Bomber Free Agents will seek greener grass?

I cant wait to see who are the other teams FAs? -
Not sure where to put this so I'll just put it here. Quinn Everett was named as one of 2014 AUS All-Stars Offensive Guards.
-
my guess for the West Outstanding Players will be: Outstanding Player: Bowman - over Elimimian, Cornish, Chick and Willy Defensive Player: Elimimian - over Willis, Chick, Lemon and Leggett Special Teams: Hajrullaju - over Lacey, Jackson, Maver, and McCallum Canadian: Cornish - over Lumbala, Steele, Foley and Hajrullaju Offensive Lineman: Jones - over Olafioye, Rottier, Picard and January Rookie: McCoil - over Johnson, Cunningham, LeGree and Hajrullaju

Starting 3 Canadian receivers next season?
M.O.A.B. replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Kurt Goodrich named as one of 13 CJFL Offensive All-Canadians... for 2 years in a row 50 catches, 723 yards, 6 TDs http://www.canadafootballchat.com/cjfl-announces-13-offensive-all-canadians/ Also, Rifles OL Braiden Watson was on the list too. I believe he was with the Bombers during TC. -
Lirim should also be the MOP nominee as far as I am concern
