  1. Maybe they're referring to all the secret practice roster players? More than enough players there to field a second team.
  2. The end they gave us also completely ignored the fact that she sent Bronn to kill him and that her plan failed. He should have been dead but she was concerned that he was bleeding?
  3. Possibly or maybe he means the fact that they turned a favorite character heel. Going by social media, a lot of people are pissed about their favorite Khalesi is now the Mad Queen so in that respect, he was right. I know at least one of my friends was so livid after last night that she swore off the show.
  4. They could probably have extended last nights episode about 30 minutes and wrapped everything up. The major fighting is done so it's down to politics and a couple more deaths. There is still some intrigue left though so I wouldn't say Arya is the only interesting character left but it is getting to be slim pickings.
  5. Ummm GOT ends May 19th...
  6. The decision to reduce the number of episodes didn't do them any favors. I realize part of that was budgetary because of all the expensive battle scenes but I feel like an extra episode or two would have been much better for the show (and if it was more plot than action it wouldn't have been as expensive to make). Yeah, no issues with them dying (I picked them both to die in the GOT pool I'm in), but definitely not satisfying enough. Minor nitpick I suppose.
  7. Agreed, the pacing over the last couple seasons has not been very good. The series on the whole hasn't been as good once they ran out of book material to use. Cersei was definitely underused and deserved a far better (more personal?) death than getting buried under rubble. The bad guys (Joffrey/Ramsey) finally getting what they deserved were highlights of the series and it didn't feel anything close to that with her. It did look like there was some wildfire explosions happening though as there were some green flames appearing sporadically as Dany lit up King's Landing.
  8. Martin has also expressed surprise that people are still expecting a happy ending. Now whether or not that means a villain wins in the end or not is TBD. Jon or Arya has to be the one... with my money on Jon since Arya taking out both Dany & the Nights King seems like overkill. They do feature her prominently in the trailer for the last episode though so we'll see.
  9. Tyrion will have to answer for letting his brother escape, so if he dies, I don't think it will come from Bronn. His fate will most likely be decided by which Targaryen wins out next week. I also think the 7 kingdoms having autonomy is a real possibility. If Jon is able to take out Dany and still doesn't want the crown, I could see him abolishing the iron throne & leaving to live out his days beyond the wall with Tormund and Ghost.
  10. She didn't even hint, at certain points, she flat out said she was capable of doing this. If you re-watch the episode where her band of stragglers finally makes it to Qarth, she gives a quote that shows her mindset and how she sees things. It makes sense when you pair the quote with her seeing the Red Keep: "Thirteen, when my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who have wronged me! We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground! Turn us away, and we will burn you first."
  11. You can take Jack Swagger out of the WWE but can you take the WWE out of him? FWIW, he won his squash match with an arm triangle in the 1st round. Could have risked a DQ though by holding the choke a few seconds after the ref tried breaking it up.
  12. Fun fact: Tom Magee is from Winnipeg! Davey Boy Jr tweeted out a snippet of the match a while ago, shortly after it was discovered. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing.
  13. Was going to post this in the UFC thread but this fight seems more like a work than a shoot.
  14. False. Burris may have been more of a natural runner but Ray did manage to put up decent numbers, in less time. His CFL rushing totals were 3141 yards in 614 attempts (5.1 yard average with a career long 45 yard run). Burris had 5653 yards after 963 attempts (5.9 yard average with his longest being 34 yards). The pro-Ray stats would say 4/4 in Grey Cup games, CFL record single game, single season & career completion percentage. More All-Star nods & 110 less interceptions than Burris. Nobody is arguing that Burris didn't have a great career because he did. They each have statistics that will back up an argument for & against them but I would take Ray 10 times out of 10 over Burris.
  15. I wasn't a huge fan of Flair growing up but as I got older and was able to see more of his earlier stuff, thanks to the internet, the more I was able to appreciate him in his prime. He was a complete package back then and it's amazing to think of the career he had when you consider he was lucky to have survived a plane crash that broke his back in 3 places.
  16. I'm legit curious how you figure Burris was better than Ray. I'll give him credit where it's due though so I give Burris the edge in arm strength, scrambling, cross-dressing and pouting, but that's it!
  17. The magic you can create with MS Paint in under 30 seconds is limitless! 😂
  18. I do too... especially considering the same guy would go on to trade for Drew Willy only a couple years later! Both are mind blowing, but in very different ways!
  19. If it was strictly a money thing, then I agree he should have taken it. His best before date is well in the past but it sounds like he actually wants to give back to the business a bit and pass on some advice to younger guys on the indy scene. He's got ties to Impact (D'Amore & Callis) so I could see him ending up there as well.
  20. Sadly, that's not hard to believe. They didn't see much in Bret initially either, the way he tells it (Cowboy Bret Hart?). For as many great gimmicks as they've come up with, they've also had a ton of duds. Lots of great workers were ignored or over-looked because they didn't fit the mold Vince was looking for. Thankfully, this has changed (to an extent!) over the last number of years. We still get the Baron Corbin's but guys like Rey would never have been anything more than a joke back then.
  21. He was already my favorite Hart. I was a big fan of his in Stampede and was disappointed when he finally got to New York just to get saddled with the Blue Blazer gimmick. His 2nd run there didn't look like it would be much better (High Energy) but he eventually came into his own.
  22. As Varys said to Tyrion, she doesn't like having her authority challenged. Sansa would make a good queen but doesn't seem to want anything to do with the south these days (with good reason).
  23. I'm not sure modern sensibility applies to this series though since it's a medieval fantasy. A lot of things in the show go against modern traditions. Being usurped by a man also assumes Jon would win in the end which isn't a guarantee. Martin has been pretty vocal about being puzzled by people who expect a happy ending for the story when the entire series has been filled with such shocking/jarring moments. He could be setting the stage for an evil or crazy queen winning or he could just be full of **** too and wants to keep people guessing!
